It's bad. Episodes 1-4 aren't great, but watchable. Episode 5 might be the worst-written piece of garbage I have ever seen. Made me stop watching the series.

Andor: Season 29
May 5, 2025
This show rocks. I hope they keep making stuff like this. Season 2 started with action then goes back to a slow build up in the first few episodes. But the Build up is fine. It’s a pretty good spy thriller. To the people giving it 0 or 1 stars…. Come on bro; the hate everything schtick getting old.

Episode 1 & 2 were decent. But the show falls off a cliff in episode 3. Doesn’t even feel like the same show. Hopefully it can get back on track but yikes. Episode 3 was shockingly bad.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power4

I don’t remember/care about what happened in the show. The only character whose name I remember is Galadriel. This show is pretty blah and mediocre at best. Feels like it was written in a Tuesday afternoon meeting, in a stuffy conference room. That is probably the most honest review I can give so far.

This show should’ve just been a crime/mafia story, where you explore the dark crime world like gangs/drugs/political extortion, through various jobs he has to take to get money and power. Then as he gets more power and control you can give him the moral dilemma’s of bounty hunting or ruling with fear or respect. Instead Disney needs to sell toys of their new shiny money cow and his gang of power ranger knock offs, so they have to make him some noble do-gooder right off the rip. It’s fine, but it’s missed potential and borderline bad.

It’s a good/fun anthology series, that’s not too serious. There’s isn’t really a point to any of the episodes. But I definitely enjoyed getting lost in some of them. Even if they are fairly short. Some leave you wanting more, some you may want to skip. But overall I thought it was neat.

Who gave the green light for this? That person should be fired from Netflix. Jettison every copy and file of this adaptation into the sun and never speak of it again.

Just go watch the original UK channel 4 version instead. This Amazon adaptation was shockingly bad.

This show is not good. I wanted it to be good, but it’s just not. The cast was fine. In fact I kept thinking how good the show could’ve been if they had this cast, and actually just followed the books. Pacing is all over the place, and I never felt like I cared for any of the characters. You get maybe 20 seconds of why you’re supposed to care and that’s it. There’s no mystery or subtlety like in the books either. They just hammer you over the head with whatever point they are trying to make. Many have pointed out that this is just a glorified CW show, but I think that is giving this too much credit. Amazon made the same mistakes, when they rebooted Utopia. And I fear they are going to do the same for Lord of the Rings. If this show makes it past season 1 I’ll be shocked.
