EA and Respawn have proven they have the talent. While the game isn't particularly extraordinary in regards to mechanics, I've got to say it's incredibly fun and immersive. I probably spent more than 10 hours and I feel there's room for it to surprise me. I feel the artists have abused the trope of having a huge building in front of you to make you feel it's sublime, you can notice it on every planet, it doesn't make it bad either. There's also a lack of any roleplay mechanics, but I guess it's because this is not OUR story, but Cal's. I hope EA regains the fame by focusing on producing, publishing and funding good games like this one, and an outstanding job by Respawn, that's 2 in a row, let's hope you keep on this track.

A literal scam. It took the code from WarZ, a game pulled out of Steam 3 or 4 times and then made F2P, and added a few 3D assets.

Even though the game is a bargain and it proved to be a good successor to Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, I must say that it lacks of originality in some regards and can't escape from its evident reference. Battle Royale mode is not fun, and won't be fun if it's compared to other games of that genre. Horde Mode gets boring after a while, and, while these modes exist a duel one doesn't. In regard to graphics the game excels on every department, but the most notable one is character customization, there are no microtransactions, which makes it honest and the amount of content is more than enough. If I had to criticize something about it would be the lack of options for face customization. One of the coolest things I have noticed were the scars, they deform the body of your character and make them stick out, which is an excellent detail. I would like to see bigger maps, cohorts or squadrons to make the game more interesting, more players in a match. But that would be too much to ask an indie studio. I absolutely recomend it, it's cheap and fun.

FIFA has proven to be quite profitable for Electronic Arts. So profitable changes are meaningless not to ruin the goose of golden eggs. Even The Journey, an enjoyable experience has dropped in writing quality. I can't give more points to a game like this. Congratulations to the artists though, they are the only ones who have done an excellent work.

The compelling story is as classic as the formula used in the game. It gets you hooked from the first minute and it doesn't let you down. It's not a new experience but you don't need to innovate to make a fun and enjoyable game; perhaps the most interesting mechanic are the rats and how XIV century France is depicted. The graphics are beyond good, character and environment design is the proof that the developers have put a lot of effort into it: realistic, believable and detailed, Quixel Megascans is an excellent resource. If I had to point out a wrong aspect of the game it would probably be some dialogues; at times they feel less meaningful than they should be, as if the writers held themselves back, but maybe it has to do with the fact that the characters are children. I hope I can get to play more games like these on PC.
