Hogwarts legacy is a weird game which does neither story well nor the exploration. Let's get into the goods and bads of it. The goods:
+ The background art is gorgeous and hogwarts castle is very well made.
+ A good fanservice for HP fans
+ Combat system is unique as in we don't get a lot of games with wand fights
+ The quest dungeons are actually good The bads:
- Characters are very poorly written and you won't feel any connection with literally any character (except maybe Sebastian)
- The open world exploration doesn't feel very rewarding as in you get very similar terrain everywhere and it gets boring real quick.
- It feels like a political propaganda with forced varied ethinicity and lgbtq representation in hogwarts as well as the wizarding world.
- The ways to gain coins and XP both are very limited, specially you would be forced to do repetitive and boring tasks like gathering flying pages to earn XP.
- The toughness aspect of game is all about bombarding us in 1 v 10 situation instead of bringing in actually well crafted enemies. TLDR, play it only if you are a really really massive HP fan, else it would be a hard pass, as it doesn't do great in any department.
It is a good demo to the complete GT7, gets very generous with rewards for people planning to play gt7. Though on its own the game is very small. but it's free so it's fine.
It is good for pass time with friends during work breaks. Some bad things: the parking arena mode is very bland. Hell in the cell **** with the cage in between
I don't know what else people want from a game!
Pros:
- it is free
- it got easily 800+ hours of content and new content still being added
- the music is heavenly
- the lore is interesting and you get a lot of avenues to dig deeper into the lore
- graphics are really good if you are okay with anime style characters
- the ingame story is decent
- a very vast open world which we generally don't get to see
- can cater to all playstyles: whether you like to focus on story, or focus on battles, or find peace in exploring the world and decoding lore and mysteries
- a co-op mode available without ps plus The cons:
- it is a gacha game, but still can be played completely with the free characters
- if you are really into battle gameplay, artifacts farming is very exhausting
