I got the game with my new 3080 graphics card which makes it more funny that i can barely run the thing. poorly optimized doesn't even begin to describe it. I tried to push on but the writing is a joke and there is little to no immersion when the gangsters are all made up by middle aged women.

The Book of Unwritten Tales: Critter Chronicles

note: I have not played the first "the book of unwritten tales" so i can't compare this game to that game. There is also a possibility that i missed out on jokes or references because of this. I did enjoy my time with this game for the most part. The presentation is nice and i enjoyed the voice acting in the game. The lack of support for 16:9 ratio kind of **** but it is hardly a deal breaker. There could also have been a bit more environments in the game but overall i enjoyed the presentation of the game and i found it to pretty charming. The story and character was also pretty charming and they kept me interested throughout the game. I wouldn't call anything especially good but they were enjoyable enough even though there could have been some more characters in the game. Overall i found everything except the puzzles to be enjoyable though nothing amazing. There are however a lot of really nonsensical puzzles in this game and i can't imagine that people could figure them out without simply trying every possible combination. It might just be me who is dumb and i am sure that there are people who really enjoy the challenge but they were just to many nonsensical and far fetched puzzles in the game for my taste. And it did somewhat screw up my enjoyment of the game. If you are fine with that then this game is a charming and competent adventure game.

Dragon Age: Inquisition

This game got a lot of praise from reviewers and i heard terms like "Bioware is returning to form" being thrown around. I don't know what these people are talking about. In my opinion this game is mediocre at best. I will say that it feels like a honest attempt to make a good rpg compared to Dragon Age 2 but the result is just not especially good in my opinion. Lets start with the technical problems. There are bugs, physics issues, insane loading times and performance issues. The loading times in particularly were truly horrible. But hey i might have been the unlucky one so lets ignore the technical stuff and look at the actual game. The story is pretty weak in itself. They are trying to explore a bunch of different stuff in the story but the story is basically limited to very few actual story missions which causes most of the story to feel underdeveloped. I don't want to spoil stuff but i just found the main plot to be fairly uninteresting and underdeveloped not to mention that there is a lot of dumb **** in it. There are some nice character interaction with your companions in the base though and i would guess that this is the saving grace for some people. The dialogue wheel is back and it is awful as normal but there are a bunch of romances and stuff and people into this **** will probably get their fix from this. But the biggest problem with the story and its character is that 90 % of your time with the game will be spent exploring the different environments in the game. And this is basically totally separated from the plot completely. Sure you can have your companions with you but they don't offer any input or dialogue options except from some party banter so who cares. These areas do for the most part completely lack interesting quest, dialogue options, companion input or any meaningful stuff that you would expect from a roleplaying game. It is basically just the standard ubisoft open world nonsense combined with some boring as hell mmo grindy quests. I do like the the environments and how varied they are but they are just filled with complete nonsense. So the majority of the game is just complete filler that has very little to do with the main story and its characters. This could be acceptable if the combat was enjoyable but it gets old really fast. The tactical camera is **** so you want to play this game with the third person camera. Jumping between characters with the third person camera is a bother and since you don't really need to do this at the normal difficulty you will just play it as a normal mmo. This is completely mindless and gets boring really fast. And even if you are a masochist and want to try to be tactical there are still not a whole bunch of interesting abilities to use. Being forced to spend so much time doing something that is boring and not plot important is bad enough but it also destroys the pacing of the story entirely. I am getting sick of writing about this game but here are some more stuff that i would like to complain about. - Lot less character customization. Only ability points left. -Gui **** - less equipment slots than before -boring effects on rings -few meaning full choices -war room nonsense -beep beep beep .... searching mechanic Overall it was just a very mediocre game. Absolutely not terrible but at the same time not anywhere near being good. I should mention that i have completed the game.

Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon

Good stuff. i was really pleasantly surprised with blood dragon. I had heard the hype but i was still not completely sold. A homage to a time you wasn't really part of isn't all that exciting. The game do manage to be really exciting though. The cutscenes, dialogue, narration and story just oozes charm and there are some genuine funny stuff in the game. The general gameplay hasn't changed all that much from far cry 3 which i don't really have a problem with. The new weapons are pretty nice, the shotgun is particularly fun to use. And the missions in the game are pretty varied and fun to play through. The side quest and camp take overs are a little bit repetitive just as in the original but hey they are optional. And hey you can sprint now without needing to catch your breath every ten meter or so. I do enjoy that most animals from the original have made a come back with a cyborg twist. The blood dragons are also a welcome addition. It would be nice if some of the animals had been a little bit dangerous though. I really should feel more threatened by cyber sharks. Visually the is the game really nice. The use of neon colors really makes the visuals stand out. The game isn't all that long but i had no problems with that considering its cheap price. I actually think that you get a fair amount of content for your money. If you have an interest in first person shooters then i would recommend that you give this game a try.

Plain awful. Even if i ignore all the technical problems i had with the game (crashes, cars where only the wheels are visible and so on) then what you are left with is a disappointment ****. This is mostly because of the games terrible AI. The shooting, action, visuals and levels are all sub-par but i can deal with those. The AI however ruins the entire game. They are completely moronic and often just stands still at one spot waiting for you. Their line of sight is also messed up which makes the fire entire magazines into walls when you are on the other side of it. When you do show yourself they notice you and starts to fire at you with pin point accuracy in less than a seconds. This makes the combat quite dull and it can be tough to deal with enemies without losing a great deal of health. Combine this with that you die quite fast and it gets really annoying. Dont get me wrong. I have no problem with the fact that you are not superman. But when you are forced to deal with large quantities of psychic enemies in small corridors with no real tactical option available except shooting them in the head then its gets annoying. It first couple of levels were beatable by abusing the bad AI and the quicksave button but it sure wasnt fun.

Fire & Forget: The Final Assault

I had no expectations but i was still disappointed. The gameplay is really simplistic and neither particularly interesting or fun. You are driving a car on a road and need to avoid obstacles on the road by steering away from them or using a limited flight power. There is also enemies on the road which you can take out or ignore and in the end of the map there is a boss battle. You might recognize this format from mobile games and it just happens that this game is also released on mobiles. The problem is that they have implemented the quite basic and uninteresting gameplay mechanics to the pc version in a not so perfect way. The steering is quite clunky and the combat consists of the player holding down a button. The visuals might look decent on a mobile device but they are unimpressive at best at a pc. The reason that i am being so critical to this game is that they are trying to sell it for 10 euro at the moment and the game is just not worth that kind of money on pc. The point that i am trying to make is that you probably wont have any problem finding a better racing game for a similar price. But hey if you find it for a silly low price and only need something new to keep you busy for a half a hour then it might be worth picking this game up.

Crysis 3 didn't disappoint me but it didn't impress me either. The campaign is decent. It is a lot more linear compared to the first one and it does get a bit cutsceny every now and then. I would also have love to seen more drive-able vehicles in the game. But you know the gameplay is fun enough It hasnt changed all that much since the previous games. You can still abuse the hell out of the cloak system and the AI doesnt really put up any real challenge most of the time. The checkpoint can be a source of annoyance. The production values are great and everything sounds and looks awesome. The characters are extremely detailed and nicely voiced. But i didnt really care about the story or any of the characters. You dont really have any reason to care about the world and the sci fi story is pretty damn generic. I might sound more negative about the game than i really am. Its not like its a bad game. Everything works as it should and if you are new to the crysis series then you will probably have a lot of fun with the nanosuit. But the game didnt have any major impact on me. It didnt make me feel anything when playing it. I recognize that as far a criticism go this is a quite one. But for me this game was quite a forgetful experience. Perhaps its the fact that my playstyle basically is me sneaking past everyone. And the sneaking in this game is way overpowered and dull. Not to mention that you can pick off anyone at any time with little to no consequence. The fact that you easily could kill everyone if spotted could be one of those thing that removes the tension of the stealth. But hey i have rambled enough. Crysis 3 is an good enough game and if you are looking for a high production valued 6 hours action filled campaign then you could do way worse.

I had some fun with this game even though the game is quite The car doesn't really handle all that well, the psychics is a bit odd, the human models walking around are so ugly that they get fun to watch, the races in the game aren't challenging at all, the ai is a bit wonky, and the races and time trials in the game can be completed in 1-2 hours. The game does overall feel like a mod and like most mods it feels like it could have used some more time in development. All is not lost in car-land though. The city is varied enough even though it certainly could have been a bit bigger. The free roaming mode is fun for a little while and the game have a nice selection of vehicles all things considered. There are also some odd vehicles in the game which is nice to see. The visuals aren't too bad either as long as you don't inspect anything to closely. I had some fun with the game despite all of its problems as i stated before. I got an hour of two of enjoyment out of it and i cant complain considering that i got it pretty cheap. Pick it up if you are looking to waste a hour or two. Just try to keep the expectations are the minimum.

Brutal Legend does a lot of things right. The visual design is great, the voice acting is nice, the dialogues are quite fun and the story is for the most part pretty good. Everything in the games presentation really screams out charming and the developers should have an applaud for that. The gameplay is however a little uneven. The gameplay can be divided into three different categories. Fighting, driving and rts. Fighting The fighting in this game works quite alright even though it never really shines. The presentation of it is quite nice, gorey and charming. The actual combat is however simply alright and perhaps a bit too simplistic. It is nice though that you can unlock new moves and the fact that you can battle with your guitar is a nice touch. Driving The driving looks really cool but the car doesn't really handle all that well. Which is a shame since the car looks really cool and its tough that you can customize it to your liking. I would also like to see more race missions since i found it to be pretty enjoyable to drive around the beautiful world despite the vehicle handling. RTS Doesn't really work very well. At first i found the rts-levels to be boring and a waste of time simply because of how easy they were. Later in the game however the difficulty goes up and short-comings of the entire systems becomes more apparent. Easy tasks becomes a chore because of the tiresome console rts mechanics. The stage battles are also extremely scripted, simplistic and lacks depth. This might be borderline acceptable on a console but its totally unacceptable on a pc. The games annoying checkpoint-system doesn't help either. Brutal Legend was for me despite its charm quite average. The games campaign is about 8 hours long and i would recommend it for a cheap price simply because of its great presentation and charm. People who are really into rock will probably enjoy it more than i. Be aware though that the gameplay could be a whole lot better even though it works fine for the most part.

My first impression of Inversion was pretty bad. The gameplay was cutscene-heavy and linear. The combat felt samey but clearly inferior to other similar games. The story was pretty dull the environments were boring and the game did overall feel really tired and passionless. But i carried on and the game actually got a bit better. The story took off and became very close to interesting. and the cutscenes also got a lot less frequent and annoying. The environments got much more interesting and gameplay -features related to the different inversion mechanics got introduced. Now what the inversion does except some basic gravity manipulation is to create semi-flying cover-based areas and combat areas on walls and etc. Neither of the really changed the gameplay from the standard cover based shooting gameplay. But they did make it a bit more interesting. The gravity manipulation did also give the combat some uniqueness which is always nice. There was some boss-battles thrown in there which was a nice change of pace. The combat do however have some flaws that need to be addressed. The cover based shooting is simply alright and the combat doesn't feel as polished as it does in similar games. The weapon and enemy variety aren't all that great and the game do reuse some boss-fights more than once. I am also not a big fan of the games checkpoint system and i felt that it made me replay more than necessary on more than one location. Inversion is by no means a perfect game but all games do not need to be perfect. Inversion is a quite average third person shooter and the games around 8 hours long campaign is not a bad way to spend some time for a fan of the genre. If you expect anything out of the ordinary then there is a change that you will be disappointed. Note: I played through the game solo and did not touch the co-op. Looks elsewhere for info on that.

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

My expectations was not very high for this game after the disaster that was the Cartel. But after hearing good things about the game i decided to give the franchise another shot. And i am happy that i did just that. The games main campaign is quite solid. The area variety is quite nice and there are some quite cool ares in the game. The enemy variety is basically what you would expect from a cowboy game but they have thrown in some bosses which is a nice touch. The weapon variety could be a bit better but it never becomes a issue since the campaign isnt the longest one out there. The weapons in the game are however quite tough and fun to use. The different missions in the game is chained together by a narrator who sits in a bar and tells a story. The story in itself is actually quite good but what really surprised me what how well the handled the whole narrator format. The voice acting is great and the narrator and his listeners will discuss the events in the bar which is a really nice touch. But what is really cool is that the world changes depending on the narration which really benefits the story and atmosphere. Another thing that the developers really succeed with is the shooting. The shooting in the game is really fun with some tough mechanics like bullet-dodging. The gameplay do overall feel really solid even though it never really moves away from the standard fps format. Horse riding combat etc would be nice. One thing i should mention is the duels. The duels are certainly not terrible but the do feel like the weakest part of the gameplay. Summary: Call of Juarez Gunslinger was a fresh breath of air for me. The game delivers a really solid campaign with excellent shooting mechanics and well put together gameplay. The campaign could be a bit longer (around six hours) but i believe that it delivers more than enough considering the games cheap price. There are also some other game-modes like arcade and duel which you can spend some time on.

Depth Hunter has an interesting premise. Swimming around in beautiful oceans and catching fish does sound like a relaxing experience. This game do achieve that in some areas while i fails in others. The visuals in this game are pretty nice and the oceans you are swimming in looks great. On complaint regarding the visuals is the different oceans looks pretty much the same and i would have love to have seen some better environment variety. Another complaint related to the environments are that they feel a bit static and not really alive. An example of this are sharks that dont attack or react to your presence in any meaningful way. It is however despite this problems quite nice to swim around in the different oceans the game present you with (3 small oceans). Now the gameplay leaves a lot of things to be desired. Swimming around searching for treasures is quite nice and relaxing. Taking photos is also quite nice even though the game is really stingy about angles and distance for the photo to count. Catching fish however isn't all that fun. It is sometimes quite hard finding the right fish you are looking for which can be quite frustrating. And the fishing minigame in itself is quite hectic and button-mashy and doesn't really fit into the calm and relaxing vibe of the game. I completed the main campaign in one hour or two which isn't all that long. The game is however quite cheap which might compensate for that. Pick it up if you are looking for an hour or two of quite relaxing gameplay. Just don't expect to much.

I was fascinated by the premise of this game. Underwater combat sounds like fun with an endless amount of possibilities. This game do sadly not live up to those expectations in any way. The movements and aiming is to start with clunky at best. The cover mechanic doesn't always work, you cant run and the main character moves like a big cube of metal. You might wonder why it matters how you character moves on land considering that this game is focused on underwater combat. Well get that idea out of your head. This game is by no means focused on underwater combat. The water segments of the game is mostly used for you to get to land-area A from land-Area B. The game do now and then throw some underwater robots at you which triggers a repetitive and boring quicktime event which you basically cant fail at. The robots in question are also quite boring to say the least and i didn't encounter any interesting enemies in underwater which is a real shame. But i don't want i to appear like my biggest complaint about this game is the lack of rewarding underwater segments. It was naturally disappointing that the game didn't match my expectations but i tried to give the land-combat a fair chance. And it was awful. The fact that the controls were awkward wasn't a good start but there were a whole lot of other thing that dragged down the combat. The checkpoints were awful and all things cover related was a bit wunky. Which is quite bad when your whole combat is based around cover. Trying to throw a grenade from cover for example makes your character stand up straight and get shot to pieces while throwing. Combine that with boring enemies and weapons and you get a combat which only succeeds in making you snore and rage. The visuals are alright in the game. The visuals underwater do look pretty even though they are nothing out of the ordinary. On the land the game do look competent though a bit boring. Now i know that i have been extremely critical of this game which is based upon the face that i had a terrible time with it. I should however mention that i didn't finish the game and that it its completely possible that the game does a 180 degree turn. That does not however sound very likely.

Tomb Raider is a neatly packaged game. The visuals are great and the animations are nice and fluid. The environments are nicely designed and quite varied. The game also sounds great with enjoyable voice acting and the production values of the game is overall quite nice. I personally really enjoyed the setting of the game and i liked the way the handled the story and character interactions. The shooting and jumping in the game is quite satisfying and i thought that it was varied enough for its appeal to last throughout the game. There are some annoying quicktime events here and there and the game is from time to time very much scripted and linear. But they do pull this off reasonably well and i found myself not hating the scripted nature of some of its gameplay. But the game do also have some areas with more freedom which is a nice change of pace. The jumping puzzles in the game have taken a back seat for the shooting stuff and stylished jumping sequences. Personally i didnt mind since i am not a big fan of jumping puzzles but i do believe its worth mentioning. There is also a whole less tomb raiding than you would expect from a Tomb raider game. The tombs in the game are however quite enjoyable even though the puzzles aren't all that challenging. The action in the game is quite enjoyable and i enjoyed that you could tackle different situations in a number of ways. The upgrade system is also a nice touch with unluckable silencers and stuff like that. The bow is also a fun weapon to use and it very much fits the setting of the game. One complaint i do have on the combat is the enemy variety. The humanoid enemies are varied enough but i believe that the game really would benefit from having more animal-based enemies. It would also really fit the setting to have stuff like big bears or some water based enemy in the game. And while we are on the topic of the wild life. I do think that it is sad that the developers didn't expand on the hunting and gathering options in the game. That would have been a ton of fun and fitted the games setting. I did however enjoy the different collectibles a great deal. Tomb Raider is to sum it up a pretty good game. It hardly reinvents the wheel and the scripted nature of the game and the way its quite action oriented may piss some people of. The game do however contain a quite good and meaty campaign and its definitely worth picking up if you are looking for a fun around 10 hour long campaign.

I did not have high expectations of this game. Quite the opposite in fact. But i found it for a cheap price and decided to give it a try and boy was i surprised. The game is not without its fair share of problems. The game did not run as well as it should considering how it looks. It didn't have any major impact on me but i would be cautious picking up this game if you have a low-end computer. While on the subject of graphic, there are some really low res textures in the game that just looks awful. And there is a lot of things in this game that doesn't look good at closer inspection. The game do also have some of the most annoying and out of place rail-shooting segments i have ever encountered in a video game. The story can also be a bit silly from time to time and it never really shines. There are also some minor annoyances like badly placed checkpoints and covers you cant hide behind in the game. But as i might have already given away i was quite taken by this game. This game has an amazing level-variety. And there isn't just a whole lot of them, most of them are pretty though as well. The gameplay is also quite reasonable varied over the surprisingly long singleplayer campaign. But the thing that truly sold me about this game is the way its handles all this future half sci fi technology. They are fun and useful to use and they never feel like some stupid gimmick. The cloaking ability is a blast to use, drones are extremely useful for stealth and scouting and the magnetic vision is fun to use and lets you take advantage of weak covers and etc. Overall i feel that they really succeeded with the future tech. All this technology also serves to make the stealth in the game quite enjoyable and i personally had loads of fun sneaking around cloaked synchronizing shots with my AI partners. As you might expect i do recommend this game to anyone interested in the genre. I have heard that this game had some major problems at launch on the pc but besides the terrible optimization i had no real problems playing the singleplayer campaign of this game. But it might be something worth taking into consideration.

The Cave (2013)

May 19, 2013
The Cave do have its charm. The visuals are for the most part quite nice and there are some lovely colorful levels in the game. The characters are quite nice and their stories are interesting enough and the narrator is a nice touch that could have been used a bit more in my opinion. Now the gameplay is a mix between platforming and puzzles with emphasis on the puzzles. The platforming works fine though the control can be a little bit wonky. The platforming is however never really challenging and is mostly there to spread out the puzzles. The puzzles in the game are quite similar to the puzzles in old adventure games. So you are basically combining objects with each other and all that other stuff associated with point and click adventure games. The puzzles in the game are for the most part quite reasonably challenging even though there are some far fetched puzzles here and there. Some puzzles did contain a little bit to much running back and forth which got a little bit annoying though. I also found myself stuck in the game at one point since i didn't know that each character had a special ability. But hey the game might have told me about it and i somehow managed to miss it. Now the biggest flaw of this game in my opinion is the way the game handled the different characters and their individual levels and stories. Each character has their own individual level that is based upon their story. And these levels were my favorite levels in the game. These levels were also the only levels which really made you use the characters special ability which was a nice change of pace from simply jumping around in the character neutral levels. So after finishing the game for the first time (took me around 5-6 hours) i wanted to play the remaining four character levels. But to do that i would be forced to replay every damn character neutral level to get to the levels that i wanted to play. To experience all the seven different character level you would have to replay the campaign 3 times. And the emphasis on puzzles in this game makes replaying the character neutral levels and solving puzzles you already know the solutions for a real chore. I cant understand why the would design the game in such a way and it only serves to hid away a substantial part of the games contents behind filler nonsense. And since i am complaining i should mention that the way the handled multiple ending felt a bit forced. In the end i thought that this game was quite average. I am not the biggest fan of these kind of adventure games (even though i can appreciate their charm) so its possible that someone more fond of the genre would appreciate it more and be more forgiving to its short comings. I did however have some fun with it and the game is by no means a bad way to spend a small amount of cash for if you got your eye out for ****.

Mass Effect 3

Mass effect 3 disappoints in several important aspects. The writing in the game is extremely uneven which really drags a game like this down. Sure there are some cool moments here and there but the story is overall really weak and the game is full of awkward and cheaply written moments. And it doesnt help that the conversation wheel is dumbed down too the absurd. The dialogue options are extremely binary and quite often they lead to the same result. The only difference is whether you get some paragon or renegade points in the end. And when you do get to make an important choice then the dialogue wheels poorly explained choices in simply not enough. The renegade/paragon options in the cutscenes also feels really cheap since you have no idea what kind of choice you are making. Overall the game lacks the kind of interaction you would expect from a roleplaying game and the games mission-design feel extremely linear and more like an action game than a roleplaying game. Another thing worth mentioning is that this game is much more combat oriented than previous games in the series. There are very few hub-based areas in the game and you will spend the majority of your time in combat missions. Now the combat is quite good for a roleplaying game. For an action game however the combat is extremely average. The combat is a pretty basic cover-mechanic based shooter with the normal peak-shoot-duck and wait for the shield to recharge type of gameplay. It is by no means a catastrophe but it simply cant carry an entire long game like this. And chances are that you will get bored of the combat before beating this game which is a shame since that is what you are going to spend your time doing. The focus on combat sadly also mean that a lot of the environments you are in are nothing more than boring grey/brown ruins which is kind of sad since there is a lot of cool places to the explore in the universe. You do thankfully also get to visit some pretty neat places in the game which is nice. The exploration in the game do however leave a lot of things to be desired. The maps are often extremely linear and the lack of side quest and stuff to find leads to you not feeling the need to explore. I should also note that both the item and enemy variety is quite limited which i really thought hurt the game. I believe that the limited enemy variety is particularly sad since games like this can make up all kinds of cool faunas and cultures to fight. You are sadly forced to fight the same quite boring enemies over and over again which doesn't really help the combat. The visuals are for the most part alright but there are some low-res textures in the game here and there that just look awful by contrast. I also have issues with the weird camera angel they have chosen for the game. Something you cant fix in the extremely basic options menu. Now despite being quite critical of the game i must mention that the game is by no means so bad that some people make it out to be. I would say that its extremely average. The game have a long list of flaws but it also have a decent amount of alright content in it. I picked it up for a cheap price and i dont regret doing that despite the games flaws. if you however go into this game expecting a traditional bioware rpg or a worthy continuation of the mass effect saga then chances are that you will be disappointed. I should also mention that the were some quite shady dlc practices involved with this game. But you should try to make up your own mind regarding that.

Blades of time is a pretty mediocre third person action game. Its not that it lacks ideas. The time manipulation is really cool even though it could have been so much more. The rpg elements in the game could also have been pretty cool. There are however way too few items to find and the items you do find are simply too similar to each other. The unlocking of different abilities are way too linear and yet again are there too few and too similar abilities. The game do also have a lot of other cool ideas like a level where you need to avoid the sun, levels where you can fly, weapons that you can pick up, different (quite easy) puzzles and some bosses. All ideas aren't implemented all that great but it makes the game quite varied. The games campaign is quite decent. It took me around 8 hours to complete and i greatly enjoyed the different environments in the game. The environments are surprisingly varied and i thought some of them were pretty cool. The campaigns story however is quite generic and the character cast are quite slim, boring and underdeveloped. Now the main meat of this game is the combat. Personally i didn't really care about the combat. Its by no means a trainwreck and there is plenty of bosses and enemies to fight. But i just didn't care about the core combat mechanics. It was a bit too spammy and unvaried for my taste. There were also some annoying bosses in the game. Blades of time is an ok third person action game. It wont win any prices but you will probably get your moneys worth if you like the genre.

Saints Row: The Third

As a sandbox game Saints rows the third does a lot of things right. You can customize your vehicles, body, hairstyle, crew, clothes etc which is a load of fun. There are businesses and apartments that you can buy that accumulate money for you. You can drive cars, boats, helicopters and airplanes and there are a number of activities in the city that you can do. Everything is not perfect though. The vehicle handling feels extremely arcady which might really piss off some people. The helicopters and airplanes in particularly feels a bit strange. The side missions are very limited and they get repetitive really fast. There are some cool ideas (i love the insurance scam idea) but the number of different side missions are just to few and some of them are not interesting at all. And there aren't any races in the game at all which is really disappointing. The combat in the game is alright. There are plenty of fun melee moves and the weapon variety is good enough. The lack of recoil makes the gunplay quite boring though and the enemies arent all that fun to fight because of the simple AI. Some larger enemies in the game are basically giant shooting bullet sponges and they aren't all that fun to fight. The main campaign in the game is interesting. It is totally crazy and it never really settles down. The problem with this is that it loses the momentum of all the crazy since they keep throwing it at you all the time. That it not to say that i didn't enjoy how crazy the campaign was and it is certainly varied enough. The story though is pretty bland and it lacks interesting and likable characters which is a shame. I might sound really negative here but i had an alright time with the game. It took me around 15 hours to beat the campaign and the majority of side missions in the game which is a bit on the short side for a sandbox game. Especially so since most of the content aint all that great. The game doesn't really excel at anything which i wouldn't have had a problem with if the game had a massive amount of varied content. That is not however the case and in the end Saints Row the third is a pretty average sandbox game.

Bioshock Infinite have a lot of really strong points. The graphical design in the game is absolutely amazing and the environments you are in are absolutely gorgeous. Not only that they also just oozes with the atmosphere that goes hand in hand with the Story. And the story is great and it contains a lot of interesting subjects and characters. The game also manages to tell its story through the environment and audio logs just as in the previous games in the **** only complaint i have regarding the story is that it lacks player interaction both in general and in interaction with characters in the game. But this game is a first person shooter and you are going to spend the majority of your time shooting stuff. The exploring is still there from the previous games but its not as fleshed out in this game since there are less stuff to find and the maps are more linear. Now the shooting is alright. Its is by no means terrible buts its not especially good either. The enemies are unvaried and feels like bullet sponges which makes the whole combat feel dull and unresponsive. The two-weapon limit is a total buzzkill and it doesnt help that the weapons in the game is nothing out of the ordinary. The vigors can be quite enjoyable but the meat of the combat is the shooting which is not that great. There are also some quite annoying boss battles in the game. Now the railways in the game are fun to use and the big open combat arenas in the game with height differences, tears, railways and turrets are where the games most enjoyable fights takes place. Sadly too few areas are like this and the combat can never really escape the fact that the basics arent all that great. it doesnt help that the combat is quite unvaried. Its not that i wish for bloody turret-sections every hour to spice things up but if you are going to make the player constantly shoot stuff the entire game (took me 11 hours on hard) then the shooting should be good enough to carry the game. And in this case the combat is not able to do that. Its hard to rate this game since the combat is average while everything else is pretty much amazing. But i do recommend this game despite its problems simple because how well they managed to pull of the everything besides the combat.

This game really doesn't want me to like it. This game is a pretty bad console port with tons of issues that i wont be able to bring up. Most noticeable would be the 30 fps-cap, and the annoying controls. Add to that frequent crashes, unskippable cutscenes, no autosaves and fixed save points and you get a formula for a bad time. And as it happens i am not entirely in love with the general gameplay either. The combat is easy, boring and unsatisfying. The stealth missions are just plain horrible. The bikes arent all that fun to use making the getting from point A too point B quite boring. Failure often forces you to replay needless bits and there are some silly reasons for failure in this game that can get a bit annoying. There is also a lot of quite boring missions in this game that centers around the same boring mechanic over and over again which makes the game a bit repetitive. Now the campaign took me around 14 hours to complete and you might wonder why i bothered completing it since i havent done anything else than whine so far. Well the reason is that the game is quite charming. I really like the setting and the story, characters and character interactions are quite charming. And i found myself getting quite immersed in the game-world from time to time despite all my problems with the game. These times are however too few and too short for me to recommend this game. The most common emotion this game managed to generate from me is pure frustration and that is never a good sign. So i do not recommend this game despite its charm. Its simply too rough around the edges for me to do that.

I had an alright time with the Saboteur. The game doesn't really excel in any area but it doesn't crash and burn in any area either. The story is alright, the action is alright, the climbing works alright and the cars handles alright. But the game is overall a little bit rough around the edges and nothing really stands out. I did enjoy the ability to disguise myself even though it could have been executed better. I also really enjoyed the setting and the visual design in the game. It is also quite fun to run over cows in the game. The campaign should take you around 10 hours to complete and its for the most part quite good. The missions could have been a little more varied and the general gameplay gets a little bit repetitive in the end but for the most part it feels alright. I don't wish to sound too negative since i had some fun with this game. I believe that the game is a quite average free roaming game. That doesn't mean that the game is bad and if you have an interest in the setting, happens to find it for a cheap price or if you simply are a fan of the genre then i would definitely recommend this game.

Bulletstorm is an over the top brainless first person shooter. If that is not your thing looks elsewhere. I really enjoyed my time with this game. There are some really cool environments in this game and the visuals are for the most part really pleasant to look at. The story and character interactions are surprisingly alright even though they hardly will win any awards. The campaign should take you around ten hours to beat depending on the difficulty. And the ten hours are actually quite varied with a lot of really cool moments even though the mindless shooting have a habit of getting a tiny bit repetitive at the end. The shooting is however quite good and the action feels quite satisfying although i would like to have seen more enemy-types, more bosses and more weapons in the game. The upgrade system could also be fleshed out more. Another thing i should mention is that the game is not only linear but also very much static. The inability to jump for instance will probably piss a lot of people of. Bulletstorm is by no means perfect but its a really competent mindless first person shooter and i do recommend fans of the genre to check this game out. I certainly had a lot of fun with it.

Dead space 2 is a really competent game. The action feels great and there the combat feels good. The enemies are varied enough and there is enough weapons so that you wont get bored. The Sci-fi setting feels great and i really liked the environments not to mention the space sections that i really enjoyed. The story and the character interactions are good enough even though i personally wasn't a big fan of the story. Overall the game feels like a nicely put together shooter without any really serious flaws. The quicktime events are awful though. And i found myself getting a little bit bored of the combat in the later parts of the game since it gets a bit repetitive. I should also mention that i rarely got frightened in the game despite being a bit of a coward so don't go into this game expecting anything like scary. This game is simply put a really well put together third person shooter that hold a high standard all the way through but never really blows you away. The games length should be a bit under 10 hours depending of what difficulty you chose.

This game do have the narrative, artstyle, music and charm to be really good. The gameplay is sadly a joke. Its about putting stuff inside your fireplace and burning them. Which might sound like an intriguing setting for a puzzle game. This is however not a puzzle game. The gameplay is based around buying stuff from a catalog, waiting for the stuff to arrive, putting them in your fireplace, lighting them on fire, waiting for the fire to go out and then repeating the process. And this gets old kind of fast. The only puzzle-like element in this game is that you get combos needed to advance by burning two specific items together based around a vague achievement-like sentence found at the top of your screen. Which aint all that satisfying. The story in this game might have its charm but when the gameplay is both dull and unsatisfying you start to wonder why they chose to make a video-game instead of a movie. But it doesn't matter if you consider this an interactive movie or a video game. I do personally not recommend this entertainment product since i didn't have a good time with it. And it aint more complicated than that.

I enjoyed playing this game. The shift-function works really well and and feel like a core part of the gameplay and not just some stupid gimmick. It is also used quite frequently in the game in a lot of different ways making the game really stand apart from other racing game. I completed the campaign in 12 hours but I had a lot of side missions left to do. The story was actually surprisingly decent and it really fits with the shift-function. The conversations that occur when you shift both in free roaming and in narrated side missions also works really well and i found myself smirking from time to time. I thought the driving worked well enough as an arcade racer but i seldom play racing-games so i don't know how it compares to other games in its genre. The game isn't flawless though. The checkpoints sometimes forces you to replay needless bits, the environment is quite static and there is some invisible walls here and there, cinematic-views sometimes take away the control of your car in critical times, lack of customization, some gameplay bits in certain missions just doesn't work very well and the game does look kind of visually dated here and there. I still had a lot of fun with this arcade-racer and if you are looking for a racing game that tries something different you should give Driver San Francisco a shot.

Assassins creed does a lot of thing right. The cities are beautiful and they really feel alive. The medieval theme looks and feels really nice. There is quite a load of content in this game with plenty of things to do besides the pretty long main quest. Managing your estate is a fun but shallow distraction. The vehicle sections are pretty fun. The acrobatics looks cool and feels fluid when everything works. The game feels overall really competent and you get a a nice amount of content for your money.. But sadly it does have some problems. The combat is quite awful and feels static, repetitive and boring. The ridiculous amount of healing items you can carry around also makes it extremely unchallenging and tedious. The climbing and acrobatics in this game works for the most part quite well and it really fun to use. The one-button for everything system in the game is however not flawless and sometimes the game will misinterpret your actions which is never any fun. A long campaign is always nice and this games have one. What is less nice however is that the campaign contains a lot of really boring filler missions that only serve to drag out the game a hour or two. Some other annoyances are bad jumping puzzles, lack of interesting side characters, strange difficulty-curve, terrible stealth-missions, terrible stealth-mechanics, unsatisfying assassinations and lets not forget everything Desmond related. I might sound really negative but i did enjoy my time with the game and i would definitely recommend buying this game for a cheap price if you think the concept sounds interesting.

Antichamber is an interesting game. It tries really hard to be different which might really please some people. It certainly feels different from other first person puzzle games which might be a reason to pick this game up if you are getting bored of other games in the same genre. I am not entirely in love with everything about this game though. First of all i should mention that i got really badly dizzy and nauseated when playing this game. I have never experienced this before despite gaming for quite a long time and this might be a total deal breaker for people more sensitive than i am. It did certainly affect my time with this game negatively. Puzzle-wise it is quite varied. The game do have some really interesting puzzles that feels smart and fresh, But it also have some quite odd puzzles that just is not all that fun to solve. I am also not a big fan of the non-linear progression system in the game. In theory its sound cool to be able to solve different puzzles at different places at your own pace. However since some puzzles are unsolvable without the proper tools gained trough solving a different puzzle you might find yourself trying to solve a unsolvable puzzle which is not all that fun. Antichamber is not a bad game but its not a game that will appeal to all kinds of players. It certainly didn't appeal to me and being kind of clever from time to time doesn't excuse the fact that the general gameplay wasn't all that enjoyable for me.

FEAR had some really satisfying shooting in it and that is all intact in the expansion pack. The combat feels meaty and all the area and weapon effects really brings the combat to life. The story in this game is pretty much non-existent and its basically about you getting to the evac point. And to get there you have to pass trough pretty standard combat areas like a construction site, a hospital, an office, a train station and let us not forget the sewer. The developers have drenched some of the areas in ridiculous amount of blood to make it fear-like but most areas are really quite grey and unimaginative. There are some new enemies and weapons in the game but players of the original will probably not find a whole lot of new exiting features in this expansion pack. The core gameplay is extremely similar to original which is fine since the original game is by no means bad. The campaign could however be a little bit meatier not to mention actually scary. I didn't get particularly scared at any point in the game despite being a gigantic chicken so the game hardly lives up to its name. The length of the campaign is also a little bit on the short side. This game is by no means bad and its a pretty average first person shooter. Its basically a couple of more hours of the original game which is not a bad deal for a fair price.

Tropico 4 is a charming little game. The developers have really done the whole el presidente thing quite well and everything from the radio show that talk about your actions and your interactions with the island and your advisers just oozes charm. The management part of the game works alright. There is plenty of buildings, edicts and options to play around with but it lacks depth and i found myself doing most stuff simply for my own amusement than for the good of the island. So i am basically saying that the game could be a bit more challenging. Now the elephant in the room that i really should mention is that the game is quite similar to the previous Tropico 3. This wont matter if you are new to the series but if you have played tropico 3 and are expecting a whole new experience then you will be disappointed. And i should also mention that the builders are still a pain in the ass to deal with. Tropico 4 is a decent little management game that relies heavily on its charm and as long as you dont expect the world out of it (or a game vastly different than tropico 3) then you probably wont be disappointed by this game. You should however consider picking up the tropico 3 instead if you find it for a much cheaper price.

At its best Need for Speed Hot Pursuit is an average arcade-racer. The visuals are nice, there is no shortage of tracks and there is a decent amount of cars The cars handle for the most part fine though very arcady which might put some people off) and most cars handles quite similar to each other. The game is also playable with keyboard which is always nice. The game do sadly have lot of flaws that ruined my time with the game. The camera in the game is awful and it constantly switches to crashes, new police cars etc when it really should follow the car i am driving. Another problem in the game is the rubberbanding. I can accept a certain usage if rubberbanding but its extremely noticeable in this game and it takes away any kind of immersion in the game not to mention the fact that the result of the race can be determined by those hidden calculations. Those two are my biggest problem with the core gameplay but there is also quite a lot of minor problem. Minimal graphical options, menus without mouse-support, forced on social unskippable cutscenes, too much nonsense between races and an uneven difficulty-curve. I might sound really negative but the game is not all bad. I had a couple of hours of fun with it but i would describe it as a below average arcade racing game. There is definitely worse games to pick up for a cheap price but the are certainly better as well.

Some parts of Dead Rising 2 Off the record are pure fun. This game is just genuinely ridiculous and playing around in the city is just a load of fun. The number of things that you can use or interact with is simply bizarre. The crafting system is also a load of fun and you can craft both useful and wacky weapons. The story is for the most time alright but it is the side characters and side missions that really shines storywise. The combat works nicely against zombies despite some annoying quicktime events and the zombies feels just threatening enough. The game is however by no means perfect. It has in fact quite a lot of faults. The (semi)boss-battles are just terrible and a chore to complete on the lower difficulties. Which is a shame since these events are presented very well. A lot of the sidequest in the game is simply no more than escort-missions in the end which gets a bit repetitive to say the least. The AI for you allies is competent enough but escorting and protecting AI companions are never really any fun. The game do also have a few shooting-sections which are kind of awful since the shooting mechanic is no where as good as the melee-mechanics. Fighting humans are overall a bit of a pain in the ass in the game. The fact that most animations forces you to stand still one or two seconds can also be really annoying when you are in a tight spot. The checkpoint system could also be improved since it sometimes forced me to replay boring and easy sections over and over again. I dont wanna sound too negative considering that i quite enjoyed the 22 hours i spent to complete the main campaign. The game do however have plenty of flaws that shouldn't be overlooked and might annoy other more than me. I would still however recommend this game since the games core gameplay is pure fun and quite unique. You should definitely pick this game up if you find it available for a cheap price. I should mention that i didn't play Dead Rising 2 so i cant compare the two of them. And that the game uses games for windows live which is a bit annoying.

The platforming is simply but i works well enough and there is also a map-editor which is a pretty cool feature. The gameplay would probably start to get repetitive after a while though if the game wasnt so very short. I completed the game in around two hours and i took my time with the levels. Another shortcoming of the game is its checkpoint system that often forces you to replay unnecessary sections which can be quite annoying. This game was kind of a disappointment. The game controls horrible on a keyboard, the cars handle really strange, the physics are just terrible and the crash-mechanics are just awful. Add to that forced on social that detracts from the driving, limited amount of tracks and game-modes, random crashes and a ton of other minor annoyances and you get a pretty below average game. The island where you can free roam looks nice and are quite spacey and varied but the subpar driving mechanics manages to take the fun out of that. Personally i did not have a good time with this game and i really cant see who really would. The hardcore racing guys should stay away because of the awkward driving and fans of arcade racers should stay away for the same reason plus the fact that the game really lacks the variation or speed that you would expect from an arcade racer. Lucius is a funny little game with a great concept. Both the visuals and voice acting are surprisingly good for this kind of game. The story and characters are alright and it is beyond charming riding around a tricycle in your fathers mansion plotting a sinister murder. The execution isn't perfect though. The point and click adventure style part of the game works for the most time alright however there are some far fetched puzzles and some annoying item searching in there. There are also some stealth missions in the game which would work surprisingly fine if the game didnt restart the entire map every time you got caught. This dumb save-system drags down every single part of the game but it is especially noticeable in the stealth missions. There are also some action-based missions in the game which are quite awful. I would still recommend the game to anyone interested despite its flaws simply because its concept is so unique and entertaining. So if you find this game available for a cheap price, go for it! It is also possible to control the game with your keyboard without getting a headache. The game do sadly have quite a limited selection of game-modes and cars. The maps do also get kind of samey despite the map editor since its all based around the same map-buildlng blocks. The options menu is also quite bare and i have personally not been able to find any multiplayer opponent to race against so far( New maps are however added all the time). From Dust does a lot of things right. Manipulating the environment is easy and fun and the game can at times be extremely relaxing. There are some cool "power-ups" in the game and there is quite a lot of maps. The game is also really pleasant to look at. The game do however have some problems. The developers have somehow managed to screw up the mouse control and as result controlling the game feels really weird. There is also a fps-cap on 30 fps which is a bit annoying. Gameplay-wise the biggest problem are your loyal minions. The AI is terrible and the pathfinding doesnt really work as well as it should. Which gets really annoying when time and manpower is crucial. Combine this with ridiculous fast-spreading fire, timed tides and annoying unforgivable maps and you are in for a nasty treat if rage. None of these faults are really gamebreaking but they do take the game from an above-average game to a below-average game. I would still recommend the game if you are into the genre and can get it for a cheap price since the game is by no means terrible. Just know that it is a little bit rough around the edges.

As a Hitman game Absolution fails quite miserably. More linear maps, few actually assassination-missions, a checkpoint system that discourages the hitman-sandbox gamestyle, a checkpoint system that doesnt save the gameworld, the new disguise system that turns the gameplay into cover based stealth, and you cant customize your loadout anymore. However as a cover-based stealth game with some hitman elements the game is quite average. The stealth works alright, the checkpoint-system is still awful, the visuals are great, the crowds looks great, there are some cool-looking maps, there are still several ways to complete your goals, the story is not all that good but the game is quite atmospheric. There aren't a whole lot of different tracks and the campaign is based around playing the same track over and over again against tougher opponents. Which gets a bit repetitive. The fact that there aren't a whole lot of different racing modes doesn't help. Some other stuff i am missing in the game is the option to restart a race during or after the race, turning off the cinematic view and the option to fast travel to the racing **** game is still an enjoyable racing game and if you are looking for an arcade racing game for a couple of hours fun then burnout is the game for you.

I had a great time with the walking dead. The story and characters are really good. The dialogue system works great and you get the feel that your actions actually have some real impact on the story. The adventure-game part of the game works well enough and the "puzzles" is reasonably challenging. All the action in the game is basically hidden quicktime-events and they work alright. They don't break the tension or atmosphere that the game successfully builds up but they are neither challenging or especially rewarding. The cellshaded graphics looks alright for the most part. Some parts looks pure ugly though. The game cutscenes are unskippable which would be tolerable for the first play-through if the checkpoint system didn't have a habit of placing you before those unskippable cutscenes. I cannot understand how anyone could believe that to be a good idea. The walking dead is not a traditional game and have a lot more in common with visual novels which is something that might turn a lot of people off. The game is basically a visual novel with some adventure-game parts, a lot of quicktime-events, good dialogue-system, interesting characters and an engrossing story. And i would definitely recommend this game if that sounds interesting to you.

There is a lot quests to keep you busy but the quests that is not part of the main campaign is not very varied and will therefor get quite repetitive pretty fast. You can however for the most time decide how you approach your goal which is a nice feature. The main campaign of the game is surprisingly varied and the story have a lot of good moments and memorable characters. The story do however also have some weak spots with some really silly plot turns. The gunplay and action isn't the best that i have seen but that do not have a huge impact on the game since the gameplay is as varied as it is. The singleplayer do however have some minor problems. Radiotowers and enemey bases get old really fast. terrible boss-battles, quicktime events, strange enemy back-up and annoying heavy soldiers is a couple of examples. The multiplayer part of the game is alright. The co-op is a lot more actions oriented than the singleplayer which kind of **** since that wasn't the best part of the game. The normal multiplayer is bland but ok. I would say that the game is overall quite impressive and that the singleplayer is enough for me to recommend this game to everyone with an interest in the genre.

I had heard that this game couldn't in anyway compare to the previous titles in the series so i didn't expect anything more than an average budget arcade racer that i could play for a few hours. But i didn't expect this game to be so terrible. The cars handle like **** the physics is terrible, its buggy and just everything about the game feels half finished. They have even managed to screw up the stunt and derby mode beyond repair. There seems to be a decent amount of content in the game but that doesnt matter when none of it plays anywhere near ok. Stay the hell away from this one.

Hotline Miami just oozes with atmosphere. The soundtrack is amazing and the simple graphical style looks surprisingly great. The story and setting is bizarre and grotesque and its casual use of extreme violence really sets the mood in place. The gameplay works great in its simplicity and it is as rewarding as it is challenging to succeed in the perfect way. The game has some minor flaws. Checkpoints placed before cutscenes is one of them. Its biggest flaw if you can call it a flaw is that the game isn't very long. Most will probably beat the game in about 5 hours or less. But if you take into account the very low cost of this game that is hardly a real problem. And i would wholeheartedly recommend everyone to pick this one up since the game offers some really quality gameplay for a cheap price.

This game really took me by **** game has plenty of flaws. There are some terrible vehicle sections, the voice acting of some minor characters are laughable bad, the checkpoint system is annoying, the story can be a little to melodramatic at times, the voice recognition simply do not work , the conversation choices can sometimes be quite vague and the game is overall quite rough around the edges. The game do however have charm. The story is actually quite good and really interesting and i became really quite attached to the characters. Sure the story is cheesy and sometimes quite predictable but it got charm just like a good B-movie. The campaign is around 10 hours long and have a decent area-variety. There isn't a whole lot of different weapons but the enemy variety is extremely good and you get to fight a huge amount of different cool robots that actually act like robots. There is also plenty of boss battles which is nice even though most of them is you dodging and shooting the highlighted area. The conversation-system is enjoyable even though it lacks any major impact and the "rpg" elements works alright. The game is in no way perfect but if you have an interest in shooters or is a fan of the setting i would definitely recommend giving this game a shot since the game is quite different from other games in the same genre.

Deadlight have an interesting story, cool graphical-novel like cutscenes and absolutely beautiful visual design. The gameplay however isn't all that good. The platforming works alright and the game shines when you are running away from horde of monster in an open street. The visual design however can make it hard to tell the difference between stuff you can grab and stuff you cant which can be a bit annoying in a tight spot to say the least. The combat in the game is quite bad. The melee weapons in the game feels clunky and the firearms are annoying to control. Throw in some endlessly respawning enemies and some annoying checkpoints and you are in for a nasty treat. Some levels works better than others but the gameplay is average as best when everything works. I should also mention that the games campaign is rather short (around 3 hours). The games story and atmosphere manages to pull the score up to an average five but know that the gameplay could be improved to say the least.

The Sims Medieval

I did not particularly enjoy my time with The Sims Medieval and i have a hard time pining down the target audience for this game. The fact that they have taken away a large part of the building and furniture options from previous titles will turn away a lot of people who enjoyed the previous games. And those left will probably lose interest since the relationship-based part of the game has been seriously crippled . (One example of that is that sims no longer age which means that children for instance no longer will grow up.) And those who simply want to screw around in the game will probably be turned off by the pushy quest system and the shortcomings listed above. All of the shortcomings listed could be tolerable if the new quest system that the game is based on was fun. That is sadly not the case and the missions often feel mindless and boring. The point and click system that the game is based on doesn't work very well for a goal-driven gameplay and i have a hard time seeing any new demographic getting interested in The Sims Medievals quite limited and dull quest-solving mechanics. I would say that the developers attempt to make the game a little more scripted and linear has really hurt the game since it restricts the creativeness of the player. And i do simply not believe that the Sims gameplay mechanics can stand on it own without it. Fans of the genre could probably get a few hours of enjoyment out of this game but i would not recommend paying any large sum of money for this one.

SiN Episodes: Emergence

Sin Emergence is an average game at best. Its short campaign is functional although a bit short (3 hours long) and its story is kind of bland. The gunplay works alright , neither good or bad. The enemy-variety is also ok but that has more to do with the short length of the game than the amount of different enemies. The gun-variety is however quite awful with only 3 standard guns to your disposal. If the game was a bit longer and if there were some more guns then i would say that this game is quite average. The current game is however a below average shooter that i would only recommend to bored fans of the genre who gets the chance to pick up the game for a cheap price. Perhaps that wouldn't be the case if the episodes-idea didn't get cancelled but that hardly affect the current games quality.
