A surprising gem. The film runs a bit long but the story is interesting. Hijackers on a plane get a little more than they bargained for in the form of a vampire passenger. It was a cool idea and the main cast acted well. It reminded me of 30 Days of Night which was also a great film. This is well worth your time.

Werewolves Within3

Nothing to see here except the lovely Milana Vayntrub. There's a single scene in the movie where she dances to 'I Saw the Sign' by Ace of Base which I personally really enjoyed. After that I could have just turned the movie off because it was terrible. It wasn't funny, scary or entertaining. It was just a load of poorly written characters running around doing dumb stuff for no reason until the credits roll. And there's very little werewolf in the whole movie.

The Tomorrow War7

The movie started off slow. The first 20-30 minutes of set up could be condensed into 10 to make room for far more interesting scenes. But once the main story and action got started I was very impressed. The parts set in the future were excellent and the last act was a pleasant surprise from where I thought the story would go. This is also Chris Pratts best movie after Guardians ( I actually prefer this but I think I'll be in the minority). The cgi effects were excellent and I could rarely tell the creatures were computer generated which kept me in the movie. After so many streaming blockbuster failures I'm happy one of these attempts turned out to be enjoyable.

I went in with very low expectations and came away really enjoying having watched this movie. It was a fun game of cat and mouse. The plot moves along at a steady pace and the writers managed to successfully keep a sense of suspense going throughout. Acting was pretty decent. Callan Mulvey always plays an excellent villain and needs more roles where he can do his thing. Megan Fox was fine too. Well worth your time.

I was expecting this to be terrible but it turned out to be a solid film. Starts off like the originals but goes in a very different direction than the cannibal hillbilly route. It was an interesting take without a cheesy 'evil for no reason' villain. I enjoyed it from start to finish. Well worth your time.

Nonsense. Starts out interesting but the story falls apart minute by minute. It's a long film too at over 2 hours. The ending is total nonsense. Don't waste your time.

This film is plain awful. It's a rehash of the decent original but offers a weaker, poorly written mess of a movie. It attempts to tie into the original but only left me thinking how ridiculous it was that the main character initially experiences the exact same storyline as the characters in the first film. There also a fair amount of wokeness, a tiny pinch of BLM and a generous amount guys hiding their sexuality (because every guy is secretly gay according to Hollywood). The ending is laughable. David Duchovny must have fallen on hard times. Avoid at all costs. Watch the original instead.

This is what an action film should be! Excellent acting, a nice bit of character development for Hemsworth and awesome superbly shot fights and stunts. The India setting was a nice change from the middle east too. Definitely worth a watch.

A movie of two halves. It started off well with an interesting premise but by the second half the plot went of the rails and became absurd. It's difficult to explain without going into spoilers. In a nutshell, this movie ****.

Yet another baffling set of scores from the 'professional' critics. They really are out of touch with normal TV and movie viewers. I really enjoyed this movie. Always been a fan of Mads Mikkelsen and he pulls off the role of a very cool and charismatic hitman brilliantly in this. The story was surprisingly straight forward without any nonsense. Matt Lucas was great as the very punch-able main villain too. Give it a watch. You'll enjoy it.

I watch a lot of movies. I can count the number of movies I haven't been able to finish on one hand. Mandy is one of them. It's 2 hours long, I made it to 40 minutes before I turned it off. Most of what I saw consisted of drawn out arty scenes showing very little. The use of coloured filters to make scenes either red or blue was pointless and added nothing to the film. And that's all I can really say. Nothing else happened for me to talk about. At 40 minutes in nothing had really happened that couldn't have been achieved in 5-10 minutes of screen time. Ignore the positive reviews. This movie is terrible. Watch anything else. It's better to spend 2 hours watching pointless clips on YouTube.

Ghost Stories4

Starts off really well with an interesting premise of a psychic/paranormal debunker's skills being put to the test. The anthology stories are all excellent up to the point you find they have no ending at all which makes them completely pointless. The final act of the film takes a stupid turn which, for me, utterly derailed and ruined the whole thing. The writers should have stuck with initial premise. The film ended with me totally disappointed.

Soulless garbage. Must have been written in less then 15 minutes. How hard can it be to write an entertaining film about transforming alien robots? If you're Michael Bay, very hard indeed. And the jokes. Wow. The jokes. I cringed after each and every one. So many attempts at humour falling flat on their faces and smashing all of their teeth on the floor. The makers of this movie should be forced into exile.

This was a fun film that I really enjoyed watching. Unlike so many movies I've seen of late this one has the all important ending actually included so I didn't feel like I'd wasted 90 minutes of my time. The simple story reminded me of old Twilight Zone episodes and I appreciated the makers avoiding the use unnecessary gore. Well worth a watch.

The movie presents a fun and interesting idea of parents trying to kill their kids and reminded me of the excellent Masters of Horror episode 'The Screwfly Solution'. Well, it was a fun idea until the movie just ended with absolutely no resolution at all. No proper ending, no answers, nothing at all. Just the credits half way through the story. I felt like I'd just wasted the last 80 or so minutes of my life. I can't recommend half a movie and I'll give it half a score. 5 out of 10. Don't waste your time.

Mind numbingly dull. There's about 15 worth of mediocre story here but at 1 hour 24 minutes run-time I was bored senseless.

Wow. I've seen a lot of bad movies but none actually make me angry while I'm watching them. This one did. The plot is ridiculous. The whole movie is based around events taking place for no reason at all. It was basically 'The Assassin' rewritten by someone while they were having a stroke. The action scenes couldn't save this from being the one of the worst films I've ever seen and definitely the worst movie I've seen in 2017. Avoid.
