this is a difficult game to review. it has its obvious flaws but obviously some strengths to consider before buying it: the game is rather linear and doesn´t offer any choices at all. whatever way you behave in this sandbox is completely meaningless, doesn´t impact the story and is not even reflected by the characters around you. that seems akward, as the world itself seems so lively but fake at the same time. a rich an true open world like the ones of the witcher 3, elder scrolls and others, usually offers you to have impact. you are the hero (or even a villain) and the world lets you know that. what you do, changes things - even outside the storyline the developers want you to live through. whereas the setting of farcry 6 suggests a lot of potential full of grayscales, it remains superficial instead, tries to shock but doesn´t reflect. you are the good one. the other ones are bad. shoot them. don´t ask. the story itself is decent, carried by a set of characters that is an interesting mixture of memorable and „meh“. most of them are based on clichees and archetypes we know from other media as film, some of them offer some depth, most of them don´t. nonetheless the cast and its stories remains interesting enough to go on. the shooter part is great, customization and crafting is nice (but seems completely unnecessary after you find your first unique weapon, a pistol that you will most propably use until the end screen). side activities are fun (but the meaning of most of them is simply to unlock a new spot to fast travel to) and the enemies are some of the dumbest i have ever seen. that being said, the game is far too easy and doesn´t offer any difficulty settings above the casual player. i still find reasons to like the game though. the world looks fantastic and at some points creates so much atmosphere you could cut it with a knife. that starts with above average graphics, good character models, farsight, and the mood the lighting creates. the interactions with the world are as usual great and feel great - you are not just a camera floating and shooting above the surface, but your movements feel real. voice acting is awesome (and i usually prefer a talking hero to a silent person, which feels … strange?) and some of the companions (the dog on wheels!) are just as cute as they are creative. the mission design - especially the main missions are awesome and extremely varied - much in contrast to the open world that seems livelier than it is. i still give it a 7 as it makes more things right than it does wrong. if you can overlook the flaws i mentioned (and the other ones .. there is more) and want to have fun shooting (and some more), then this game is for you. if you expect for a war crime saga that provoques some though - like spec ops: the line - look somewhere else.

i want to be fully honest with you. i played the demo for more than twenty hours and had a ton of fun. i chose to buy the full version and was eager to get in, when it was out. but: servers down. next day: servers down. it happened frequently in the first days after launch at rush hour. this is - of course disappointing and i can understand any frustration players are talking about. but: servers are NOT the game. judging a game only by its server issues is severely unfair - as these problems will be solved in foreseeable future. even with those problems solved - the mediocre to extremely bad reviews remain visible to just about anybody. imagine this: you login to the game in a week from now and realize it´s actually pretty awesome. punishing the devs for their infrastructure is in no relation to the effort behind such a game - art direction, storytelling, coding, ... so lets put things into perspective again: the servers **** right now. but: the game has good writing, an interesting story, some hilariously well done cut scenes that entertained me a lot. i identify with my own character, which is pretty seldom given the fact, that i play a shooter. the gunplay is pretty solid, lots of weapon feedback - and the RPG level ads an interesting and highly individual element to my playing style. the idea that you only heal, when you kill is awesome. great amount of chaos - in a positive way. and: the voice acting is awesome - but thats a quite subjective view, as i´ve seen reading other reviews. the reason i give it a clear 10 is, though, to compensate all the zeros given by people who are simply angry because of first day server problems. they don´t evaluate the game. the game deserves an 8 or 9.

i´ll give this a 10 because of all the strange votings around here - somehow you have to keep the score balanced .. however, i like this game. i even like it a lot. no - it is no AAA title. but the story is a lot better than most of the critics say. the gameplay is not polished, but hard and fun. frustrating sometimes, but always rewarding, when you finally master a difficult scene .. voice acting is ok - at least in english - the german one is horrible. however, i truly recommend this game. as i said - i give it a 10 to raise the score. in my opinion it is a clear 8/10

it does not feel like jagged alliance, it does not look like it either. nonetheless the gameplay is solid, the planning system works very well and it definetely is challenging fun to play.

another underestimated game. if you can spare the poor graphics, but are fond of turn based strategy with rpg, you might like this one. the story is interesting, with some twists - typical for the studio which is normally focused on creating some of the funniest adventures out there )deponia trilogy! yeah!) ..

arguably one of the best games i´ve played in a while and once again worth a short review: if you like the great nordic atmosphere, are fond of comic style which is beautifully drawn, can handle tough decisions with results impossible to foresee and if you like the gentle character drawing and definition, this one is for you ..

i loved assassins creed 1 - especially the character altair - and assassins creed 2. i was kind of dissapointed by the sequel in the war of independence. the story was boring - and the only charismatic character, connors father, turned out to be one of the bad guys. ok. but ac 3 is just great .. the atmosphere, the graphics and voice acting. it is near superbness .. but: there are flaws, such as bugs. and there is many of them. maybe that´s fate of open world games ..

highly underrated. nice graphics, good voice acting and an intriguing story is what you get in this little gem. it is definetely not XCOM though, more like a parallel universe.

jsut to start with i didn´t play diablo 3 so i will not comment on any of these two games being better or worse then the other. i just truly want to say THANK YOU to grinding gear games for developing such a title and make it free to play. i was surprised that all the stuff you can buy in the ingame shop is not necessary for having a fun game. in fact, most of the stuff is only cosmetic, there is not even an exp boost. thus this gem can be played for free completely without any disadvantage .. thanks.

it seems i only give my vote to highly underrated games (see my other reviews), but i just can´t help to see the injustice brought by the official critics to what i would call a gem ****. if you are into cyberpunk, like dark and complex storylines and can live with a few (really only a few) flaws, then let me recommend this game: awesome graphics, nice gameplay, intriguing storyline, great art direction as well as the music. overall well done. especially for the first title of a studio. well done, dontnod!

this game is completely underrated. good story, quite nice gameplay, if repetitive at some point. i loved the characters and the steampunk settings. if you didn´t play it yet, don´t hesitate. it´s a bargain!

what a great storyline in a game. intersting concept somehow completely unfun but extremely brutal and exciting i hope jager will make a sequel. or something like it. great work.

truly, this is a great game. i love the excessive dialogues, the interesting story and its twists. i haven´t played such a great rpg in years now. so if you can overlook horrible graphics, clunky but challenging gameplay and the missing of comfort options, give it a try. you will not be disappointed.
