Fallout 765
May 4, 2024
I have just played this game for 100 hours and manage to get the platinum trophy on PS4. There is some pros and cons to this game but it honestly just feels like a significantly weaker, watered down version of Fallout 4 with a ton of bugs, excessive monetisation and boring gameplay loop. Pros - Base building is excellent - Playing with friends is great fun when completing expeditions and public events - the community is very friendly and helpful
- The modifiable perk card system is the best perk system in any fallout game - it now plays in 60fps on console which is a nice tough - a large amount of customisation -The game is at it's best once you beat the story and are in the endgame Cons - the base building is great but 90% of cosmetics are hidden behind a paywall
- the entire crafting system is based around 'plans' which must be acquired to build ****'s very difficult to find the ones you want and it slows down everything from base building to weapon crafting - having to pay for fast travel keeps you constantly poor in the first 10-15 hours which isn't fun - the main story is an actual joke considering how bad it is
- the game constantly crashes - despite being an online game, players/friends cannot tackle missions together without having them active individually and story missions must be completed in solo due to the poor tracking and players being at different stages or part of the mission requires 'solo' only - the missions have the least amount of variety of any fallout game
the added NPCS are a nice touch but they are poorly animated, think oblivion levels of animation - the endgame is slow due to the limits with endgame vendors and the weapon drops are too inconsistent when compared with other looter shooters Overall, if you have friends to play with, then you will have some fun with this, if not. Just play Fallout 3 or 4, they are better in almost every single way.

Utterly Fantastic Game but Held Back. This game is some of the most fun I have had playing a mulitplayer game. The gameplay is like nothing you have ever experienced. 32v32 melee based combat is truly something to behold. It’s chaotic and hilarious. When you’re with friends, you’ll be laughing constantly. You’ll be charging into battle, only to see one of your friends be sent 100s of metres by a ballista and another get his head chopped off from the flanking team. It’s a simple combat system but can be mastered. When you master it, it’s rewarding, especially when you have moments of killing 3 players in a 3v1 situation. If it wasn’t for the bugs and glitches. This game would be a 10/10 for me. The game is constantly kicking you out of games, resetting your customised character (which takes 4-5 minutes to customise again, it doesn’t sound bad but it gets old after the 3rd time in 15 minutes). Also most of the trophies on PS4/PS5 are glitchy and currently I have several glitched on me. That probably doesn’t bother many players but it did for me. Great game that needed more time to work out the kinks. Considering the game is over 12 months old at this point, I can’t see them being fixed. I would still recommend though.

Resident Evil 63
Aug 11, 2020
Before I begin I would like to add that I am not a die hard Resident Evil fan and therefore I do not look at the series through rose tinted glasses, however if I was a Resident Evil fan I would have been devastated at this mockery of a video game. I played RE5 on the Xbox 360 and enjoyed it as an action third person co-op game. However that was back in 2009. I played RE6 in 2020 and yes it is a 2012/2013 game but even still, this game is a joke and has not held up well at all. Being made in 2012/2013 is not really an excuse when you think we had games like The Last Of Us coming out the same year. Pros: - Chris Redfield - Leon Kennedy Cons - Literally everything else about the game but allow me to elaborate - The worst gun mechanics on the PS4 - terrible and annoying enemy design, whoever thought enemies that explode into upside down floating bats is a complete moron and out of touch with video games - every other character is one dimensional and excessively patriotic and it feels like some Japanese person's stereotypical view of what westerners are like - The story is all over the place, there is 4 separate stories each of which tell you part of a story but even after finishing all of them twice you are still left scratching your head as to what is going on - Ustanek is laughable, is he supposed to be scary? he is just some unkillable giant blob with a vibrator for an arm. He isn't scary, he isn't well designed - the menu system is basic and poor - the whole game is clunky and jarring - The online DLC is the worst multiplayer I have ever played - the helicopter and driving scenes which are used to break up the terrible gunplay are even worse I could go on and on about this game but I think for me, this is the worst triple A game I have played on the PS4. If you think this game is above a 5/10, seriously, go play some proper games.

The Last of Us Part II8
Jul 22, 2020
Firstly I would like to say, the story for me was disappointing. I didn't love it but I understand the messages naughty dog was trying to present. Scores Gameplay - 10/10 Level Design - 10/10 Visuals - 10/10 Acting & Sounds - 10/10 Characters - 6/10 Story - 4/10 For me, this is the best action and combat that has ever existed for a third person game, in fact I would go as far to say it is the best gameplay of any game of all time. This game really stretches the limits of what a game can be. This is without a doubt a next gen game not a ps4 game. The graphics are spectacular. Naughty Dog have really set the bar with the level design as well, the level design is so complex and every encounter can be played out 5-6 different ways. Now the story. Without spoiling it. It just didn't resonant with me, it was so dark. Too dark. The story focuses on revenge but also redemption which I think a lot of people miss the mark about. However, the problem is, can some acts be redeemed? For me, no. Due to this, I think some of the characters remain unlikable due to their actions and I could not forgive them and I felt like Naughty Dog were trying to force you to like certain characters due to their struggles but I could not forgive. That is just me though. Everyone will experience the story differently. This game really made me question my morality or what is right and wrong. I think everyone will interpret this game differently which is another strength of the story. However my final closing thought of the story is, not only did I not really enjoy it and it didn't win me over, the concepts the game and how it tries to test you with are actually not that deep and I do not think anything the story does could be classed as 'new' or 'ground breaking'. This game does not deserve the hate it has received, you can't dislike a story so much that you ignore all of the pros of this game. That is why you have to take user reviews with a pinch of salt, or in this case a truck load of salt.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order9
Jan 31, 2020
Third Person Action Masterpiece. This game has blown me away, truly a Star Wars game for the ages. Pros: - a complex combat system which is superior to most third person action games - great Star Wars vibe - strong story with good characters - map design - boss battles - plenty of enemy variation - platforming breaks up combat well Cons: - a little short, clocking in at around 15-18 hours, I would have liked an extra 5 hours of story - combat can be hard at first but this makes it more rewarding overall - some more time with the supporting characters would have benefitted the story massively All in all, a great solid game, I think due to EA (the publisher) being so money hungry and only wanting to support "games as a service" and online games, I do not think EA have supported this game properly. If EA had invested more time and money into this game it would have been a console generation great. For me, still the best Star Wars game ever made.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy9
Sep 4, 2019
Naughty Dog return to the Uncharted Series with another excellent addition to the series. Chloe Fraser and Nadine Ross feature in the game with Chloe being the protagonist. It feels a little odd initially not playing as Nathan Drake however, Nathan's story is well and truly concluded so it does not feel like he is actually required for the world of uncharted to continue on. Chloe is an amazing protagonist, she has always been a great character and now she has had an opportunity to shine. The gameplay returns in all of it's incredible fashion just like uncharted 4. The antagonist, does not feature a great deal but the encounters that the pair have with him are fun and exciting interchanges. The only con for me of this game is that it is a little short which is why I cannot give it a 10/10. Racking in at 5 hours to finish.

Far Cry Primal6
Apr 28, 2019
It was nice to see Ubisoft try a different spin on their 'Far Cry' series however, despite some good moments, the game is generally a below average, empty sandbox game. Pros: - Nice looking open world - Animal taming feature is unique and fun initially - most missions can be approached in any order you like - interesting conflict between homosapien and neanderthal based tribes - resource system was fun and kept you on your toes regarding what weapons to use Cons: - missions are incredibly dull, mainly fetch or kill missions with a few protect the AI thrown in for good measure, no one has ever liked protect missions and it is about time Ubisoft learnt this - terrible AI - Very dull combat due to only having three weapons throughout the game: club, bow & spear. They could have included so much more - The map is full of resources to loot and animals kill however, that is not a good enough reason to want to explore. There is a stupid amount of animals in certain areas. There is no way 4 sabre tooth lions and 7 leopards would live within a 50 metre radius of each other. This felt like a cheap way to extend the game time by making you have to fight endless amounts of animals - Travelling around the map is slow due to having no transport other than a sabre tooth lion 10-15 hours into the game - game is subtitled (it could not have been in English because of the time setting but I still class it as a con of the game) - only a few enemy classes - generally not as much fun as FC3 (I have not played 4 or 5)

A Way Out9
Apr 17, 2019
An epic couch Coop game that delivers heart and story throughout it's entirety. Pros: - Variation of gameplay - Great character development - Amazing & unique split screen with dynamic transitions like nothing else - Great story throughout - Excellent Endings (multiple) - Lots of fun mini games within Cons - Voice acting in early chapters is weak - Graphics is average for it's time - Gun combat feels clunky

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age9
Apr 10, 2019
I have played many RPGs and a few JRPGS. This is my first in the series of Dragon Quest and it has taken me on an unforgettable journey through the 110 hours it has taken me to completely finish this game. Pros - Great old school turn based combat - in-depth story - lovable characters - plenty of quests and challenges - over 100 hours of gameplay - colour and creative enemy designs Cons - Poor music, considering you are playing the game for so long, it gets repetitive very quickly - The forge system was frustrating until late game - Random spikes in difficulty but generally quite easy

This is a bad VR shooter game. Maybe if I had not already played Firewall Zero Hour I would have scored this game higher. Alas I have played an excellent VR shooter game and playing this game left me feeling bored and empty. Pros: The gun combat responds well It is somewhat entertaining with a friend Cons: Stupid AI who just run into your line of fire Poor graphics Boring mission design Non-existent story Not fun Only 3 hours long Only a handful or guns and no grenades Poor immersion - I want to elaborate on this because the game makes you point and click to move from cover to cover which I wouldn't mind as much if it was in first person (you know how VR is supposed to be?) but the game takes you out of first person to make you watch your terribly designed character run from cover to cover which just seems so "anti-VR" in my opinion.

The American Dream6
Mar 1, 2019
This is a VR shooter game in a world where the US of A have completed their life goal of using guns for literally every single aspect of their lives. It is rather excellent and entertaining as far as the idea goes. Pros: Great story about living the American dream Humour is on point Colourful animations Cons: Glitchy controls Repetitive gameplay The game is very slow which 1-2 minute loads screens and 2-3 periods of doing nothing. For a VR game it gets boring just sitting/standing there doing nothing with your hands

Firewall Zero Hour7
Feb 16, 2019
This game is one of a kind and does the VR shooter genre massive justice. Combat is fluid and the VR experience is amazing. Downsides, there are a few. - There is only one game mode. ONLY ONE. The game mode is a 4v4 hack or defend the laptop with no re-spawns. It reminds me a lot of rainbow six siege which is another great game. However it slows down the game so much and considering it takes about 4-5 minutes to start a game it can be over in 2-3 minutes then you have wait again which can be annoying. If this game had a simple team death match tacked on, 10 minutes with respawns, I could see myself giving this game an 8/10 instead of a 7. Due to this fact I cannot give it any higher because I believe it was such a poor decision to only include one game type and quite frankly it isn't even the most popular online shooter game mode. The graphics can also be quite hazey too.

Jan 12, 2019
A great strategy game Pros: Great character design Great voice acting and supporting charatcers Qwerky music and animations Fun game play Unique for the VR, no other VR game like this one! FUN! only requires the headset and controller Cons: Short (5 hours) but most VR games are This game could have been made with the move controllers in mind Levelling up system is basic and could been much better For a VR game I would give it a 8/10 because there is a lot of poor VR games and this game is innovative. As a normal PS4 game I would give it a 7/10

League of Evil3
Dec 21, 2018
League of evil is a basic platforming game with 120 short levels lasting around 10-20 seconds to complete when mastered. If you enjoy platforming games you may like this one but for myself who finds the good platformer games somewhat enjoyable it was not for me. I found it very difficult at times due to poor controls. The character is overly sensitive to your movement which makes landing very difficult and the double jump ability which is essential to the game can be unresponsive. I found that after 20-25 attempts of the same level that the double jump option would stop working so I would have to quit out of the level and try again which would make it work again. This was very annoying when you were trying to master a level. Summary : below average platform game, annoying music and glitchy controls
