For fans of the comics its a real treat to see more of the stories come into live action in a second season. These carry themselves. But the **** my, lots of misses here. Desire and Lucifer looks ridicolus and not nearly as powerful as a mere cartoonist(or several) could muster up. Its bewildering how that can happen. Death really doesn't portray her, its more like an older and more sedate sister of the death we see in the comics. Some highlights though, Destruction and Delirium are interesting and Destiny is quite passable. Despair is again disappointing though I can see the need to tone down the grimness. Dream is...well, passable I guess. In the end this is an adult comic which has been reduced to cater for younger audience on the small screen, but the larger issue is sacrifying a really classic on the altar of diversity. It just doesnt work, its not the same work anymore. Oh well.
Started out strong with an interesting plot and a rather nice and strange atmosphere to it. But after a while the plot repeatedly hints about the rather obvious conclusion and keeps too much attention on minor details. It feels like a series that could be done in 3-4 episodes rather than the 8+ it has. Shame, it had really good potential.
A really bewildering new doctor for those that have seen Docotor Who from 2005 and onwards, it keeps none of the british charm and humor and adds instead lots of nonsense and superflous stories. The main actors is non-interesting and the doctor himself doesn't seem to grasp the charachter very well. The last three seasons have been abysmal and this was to be a notch up but no such thing. I am puzzled to whom this will appeal, certainly none of the earlier fans.
A spinoff of Sandman sounded interesting and indeed it is. The vignette seemed a bit silly and several effects are also kind of **** in the Sandman universe they makes perfect sense. It does have a tendency to include woke themes but with this much charm its actually quite enjoyable. Its typical british humour with a dash of us citizens in it so I am guessing many won't "get it". But for me its one of the best shows this year.
Wanted to like this season and again the lead star is mostly good. But the story wanders too much into subplots, some of which are just silly. Hopefully a third season will get back to the greatness of season 1.
A bit over the top on the **** great first season. Lead star shines the most but most others play good around him. The story isn't all that unique but the emotional side of it is.
