Disclosure Day3
Jun 13, 2026
Hard to know where to begin or where to stop. I knew going in that the reviews were somewhat mixed, and clearly many admire it, but I thought it was mostly dreadful. Awful script, some terrible dialogue, numerous plot holes and questionable actions from some of the characters, and perhaps worst of all from Spielberg of all directors, terrible bottom drawer CGI which rendered the final scenes {no spoilers} almost laughable. Don't waste your time or money.

Alone9

Alone is a great little movie! If taut, breathless,'çat and mouse' survival thrillers are your thing this is highly recommended.

Joker9
Oct 6, 2019
Unrelentingly bleak but absolutely captivating. There's really nothing more that I can add to the praise it's already garnered. Go see.

A Quiet Place8
Apr 7, 2018
Although I didn't find A Quiet Place scary, I did find it extremely tense and suspenseful. At the preview screening I attended everyone in the audience watched with bated breath, like me, reluctant to make a sound. I've never seen an audience eat popcorn so quietly!

Blade Runner 20499
Oct 7, 2017
I think negative comparisons with the original Blade Runner are unfair and unwarranted because BR2049 is an excellent stand alone movie. A knowledge of the original isn't really necessary {although an understanding of Deckard and Rachel's relationship would help}. Go and see it on the biggest screen you can and prepare to be wowed!

There's mot much I can add to the other negative reviews here. I wish I had walked out but was curious to see just how bad it could get. In that respect I wasn't disappointed. Pretentious twaddle of the worst kind.

Blood Father3
Sep 19, 2016
This could have been so much better in the right hands. Mel Gibson puts in a good performance playing a grizzled, recovering alcoholic with a shady past out to protect his daughter from bunch of low lifes . As others have said though, the father/daughter relationship does not work well, mainly because the daughter is totally unconvincing.

Wiener-Dog8
Sep 7, 2016
The film comprises four short stories all centering around the titular dog, with the best segment saved for last in my opinion. Anyone in need of reassurance of the Innate goodness of people should probably avoid this film, although it's a lot less caustic than Solondz's other movies. For everyone else it's thoroughly recommended.

10 Cloverfield Lane9
Mar 12, 2016
If you're planning on watching the movie, {and I thoroughly recommend you do} make sure you take your seat with an empty bladder! The tension builds brilliantly to the point where you don't want to be leaving the theatre for anything! Surely to be one of the best movies of 2016.

The Hateful Eight2
Dec 28, 2015
I'm no Tarantino fan by any means, though I have enjoyed a few of his movies. I do however love a good western and 'whodunit' which is what made me part with my cash to see this. All I can say is this is the biggest waste of close to three hours of my time that I've suffered in recent memory.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens4
Dec 18, 2015
With movies as ridiculously hyped as this I usually find it best to see it with lowish expectations to avoid undue disappointment. Well, I can't say I was disappointed exactly but hugely underwhelmed. While Abrams did succeed in capturing the 'feel' of the originals , the wafer thin plot, bland characters {and uncomfortable looking original cast members}, made for a very forgettable experience.

Cop Car7

I'll watch pretty much anything with Kevin Bacon in it, and this is certainly worth an hour and a half of anyone's time in my opinion; it's just not very memorable.

By the Sea2
Nov 16, 2015
Some movies simply don't deserve the scathing reviews they receive and others clearly do. By The Sea justly deserves the bad reviews it's been getting. It's deathly dull and dreary and not at all poignant or meaningful, something it desperately wants to be. Avoid.

Exodus: Gods and Kings2
Dec 12, 2014
Having watched the mess that was 'Noah' I probably should have known better than to trust another 'visionary' Hollywood director to deliver on another epic Bible story. I was under no illusion that this would be 100% faithful to the source material, and some embellishment was to be expected, but what Scott has done is inexcusable and absurd. What a wasted opportunity.

Edge of Tomorrow7
Jun 6, 2014
Pretty good movie overall. The mix of humour and action works very well, though the action did get a bit tedious toward the end. My only real gripe, which I have with most CGI heavy movies is my sense of detachment with the effects. Most of the scenes involving the aliens were very 'gamey' and too frenetic.

A Million Ways to Die in the West2
Jun 2, 2014
As others have already said, this plays much like an extended episode of Family Guy. Worse, it made me wonder why I ever liked FG in the first place. Seth MacFarlane must be the most overrated and overpaid writer/director at work today.

Noah3
Mar 28, 2014
While not the worst film I've ever seen, Noah has to be one of, if not the most disappointing. I was under no illusion that this would be 100% faithful to the source material, and some embellishment was to be expected, but what Aronofsky has done is inexcusable and absurd. What a wasted opportunity.
