I'm not much a fan of romantic comedies but this movie was a pleasant surprise for me. Throughout the movie our two characters 'date' over holidays and gradually develop feelings for one another though not properly conveying this or having a serious conversation about it. Overall I feel the performances given were sincere and sweet and I enjoyed this movie more than others of the genre I've seen. It's a goofy movie and definitely worth a watch.

This film is a fantastic classic and is an essential to watch every Halloween and Christmas. It's clear from every scene and song that expert attention to detail and a great amount of passion went into this film. The songs are fantastic and catchy when they need to be, but quiet and subtle at other points when it was important. The film has a powerful message and should be given the full credit for what a lovely work it is.

Gritty and gruesome. Those are the two words I'd use to describe this western horror film. It pulls no punches in the gore on display as our main group headed by Kurt Russell and Patrick Wilson ventures to rescue some kidnappees. Unfortunately this isn't like other westerns and instead they wind up in a horrific, desperate situation. This film is great and is a memorable horror movie for the bleak and bloody events that transpire.

What We Do In The Shadows is one of the best comedic horror movies I've ever seen. It is such a refreshing take on both vampires and the sort of horror sub-genre of found footage. In the film we follow three vampires living in a flat together, all the while being documented by a film crew. That's about as far as I want to go into detail because it for me is timeless and I love introducing it to people who've not seen it. It is hilarious and while not really being scary, has a lot of gore in parts that is just made into goofy scenarios that at times had me wheezing. Not only should it be watched, it is fully rewatchable. Check it out!

This is a grisly, distressing film that centers around a misfortunate punk band. After taking a gig at a **** bar they stumble on someone they shouldn't have and from there things escalate to uncomfortable heights. From then on it's a suspenseful horror where the band tries desperately to get out of this situation. The first time I saw this I hadn't looked at the credits and Patrick Stewart's inclusion knocked me off my feet. He gives a chilling performance as a cool headed, leader of the **** that is completely in his element and steers the situation with an almost mechanical malevolence. This film is definitely worth a watch.

The is an interesting movie as the concept itself is kind of terrifying. The way events unfold is quite unnerving, as we're first lead to think it'll be a home invasion type film. But then it takes a strange turn as it progresses to night time and the 'fog' rolls in. From there the movie continues on with more starting and horrifying events taking place. However, some of these events come across a bit goofy in my eyes which is where it loses me a little. Overall it's a pretty average horror movie with an interesting premise that isn't fully explored.

Baby Driver is a fantastically fun film that features a lot of fast paced driving scenes and a killer soundtrack. The opening scene is so iconic in and of itself that it almost immediately makes the film for me. It sets up the idea that the film will be flowing with the soundtrack and that music is important to the main character because of some personal trauma. Where it drags for me are with two performances, those of Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey. For me Jamie Foxx is trying too hard to be an intimidating bad guy that he almost reaches Jared Leto's 'Joker' for me. Meanwhile, Kevin Spacey's performance is pretty lackluster and forgettable, even before the news about his past came out. His roll could've been better filled by someone else with a better presence, perhaps Kurt Russel? Overall it's a fun movie and has a lot of intricate sequences that should be watched with a keen eye, definitely give it a watch.

This movie is perfectly acceptable as a popcorn flick. The premise that it sets up is an interesting one but I don't necessarily think that it was fully fledged out or realistic in its execution. Daniel Radcliffe pretty decently portrayed a nobody in my eyes and watching him try to do ordinary things while having guns bolted to his hands is pretty funny. But a lot of the pursuit and combat sequences are jumpy and feel a bit one sided. Overall it's a pretty goofy movie and doesn't necessarily need to be watched, but it could serve well as a movie night with friends popcorn flick.

What can I say? Jon Travolta plays a seemingly mentally compromised movie fan living in LA/Hollywood who is particularly obsessed with Hunter Dunbar (Devon Sawa). Overall the film is just plain goofy. I get how they were trying to give commentary on the one sided nature of the relationship between actors and their fans, but definitely could've done it better. Jon Travolta gives an insane performance and looks doofy, it's just a cluster. I recommend anyone looking for a good laugh watch this movie, as it's a great time while not being that great.

This movie is a phenomenal experience that explores the ways in which people of the 1% status look down upon those in the lower class. It also infuses this with strong elements of horror and thriller that elevate the movie even higher as we unravel more of the story. Throughout much of the film my eyes were wide with some of the twist reveals and the horrific things that end up happening. This is definitely a must watch film because of the masterclass in film making put on display from Bong Joon Ho. It is fully deserving of your time if you are looking to get into foreign language films.
