Baldur's Gate 3 is not a bad game. I would in fact say it's a good game, however in the genre that it exists in, Isometric RPG, it's about average. I think what's happening is that a lot of new players, who have no idea what an Isometric RPG is, are suddenly playing the "cool game" and enjoying it. A lot of the additional mechanics, such as shove, are just out of place and contrite. The story is lacking and seriously underwhelming. At times you wonder if you're advancing it at all. In the end come for the novelty, but go play Baldur's Gate I&II for great games!

This game doesn't know what it wants to be. Is it a survival game? Is it a city builder? Is it both? Maybe, but does it do it well? I would say no. It's not bad, but definitely not good. It meets in that mediocre middle that just leaves you wanting more, but never getting it.

I started up this game, saw the factions and immediately quit. Literally five of the eight factions are Chaos. The faction that no one wanted to play in Warhammer I or II, is essentially the focus of this game. Were the developers even listening to their fanbase? Did they check the metadata from people who were playing their games, or did they just let their egos decide what they would create and say, screw everyone else? Just an awful selection and until the big map comes out and I have a choice of other factions (something other than a pseudo-empire and Chinese themed faction, I mean I wonder what market they were trying to win over there?) I will not be playing this game. So my scoring is entirely based on the fact that this company could care less what their fanbase wanted, and instead created something that cost them the least amount of money to develop.

This game is just really bad on Xbox... but I don't think people who haven't played on PC would realize this. The game is not meant to be played on a controller, there are so many abilities you need to use, that you can't because of how they implemented the controls on Xbox. If you have to choose PC or Xbox, choose PC hands down. I mean the game isn't a 10 on PC either, but it's not even a 4 on Xbox. Just a bad game period on Xbox Series S. If you love the franchise and can't play on PC, maybe you should try it.

I honestly enjoy this game a lot. It's got a cult following to boot. I have spent hundreds of hours on multiple difficulties. I am not one that normally plays games that are all or nothing, but the mechanics of this game have drawn me in. The mixture of management, rpg, and exploration really appeal to me. The people who have given this game a bad rating don't seem to take the time to fix their own problem. Nighttime is hard to see? Fix the gama. After awhile the game can become monotonous, but so can Breath of Wild and Fallout 4, which is why I'm not playing them right now. It doesn't mean they're not good games. I think for most people the brutality and finality of this game is a turn off, knowing your character's death is permanent isn't appealing to some. Spending hours maxing out a character's stats only to lose them because you didn't realize you were facing a horde and six ferals, well that is a downer, but at the time it gives meaning to your success. You aren't just making it in a game where you can reload when you make a mistake. Is it a ten, no, and part of the reason is melee combat is awkward on PC, however shooting is so much easier. It's the opposite on controller and console. I would recommend ignoring the haters that wanted another softcore survival game like Last of Us and giving it a try. You can currently try it on Xbox Game Pass or maybe wait and grab it when it comes on sale.

There's no denying the console release was poorly done, however I can't say the same for PC. I have been playing the game for the last two weeks with only a few bugs impeding my gameplay. The story may very well be one of the best I've experiencing in a video game, with the player options and side quests having a lasting impact on my choices. With that said, this is a true open world game, yes there are linear quests, but the chance to explore and experience the world is there, and what a beautiful world it is. The graphics are very good, at times breathtaking. The world is rendered with a quality very rarely seen in video games and it may be this fact that led to so many problems with the console editions. It's hard for me to believe anything but a mid-range to high end pc could actually manage this game. The controls are good, sketchy at times, but no worse than other leaders in this genre, i.e. Skyrim, Fallout, and Witcher, in fact they are better than Witcher in almost every regard. The difficulty at normal seems, easy? That would be my only concern. It should have been Very Easy, Easy, Normal, and Hard as the levels of difficulty. The only missions that stop me on normal difficulty are Hard or Very Hard missions, and even then I've completed hard missions after some reloads. Overall I would say this may be regarded as one of the best video games every released. Is it a 10 now? No, Will it be a ten in a year, I believe it absolutely will be. Can you enjoy it on PC now? Yes and yes. I recommend this on PC to all my friends. It's an amazing game that will only get better.

COD Modern Warfare (new) was one of the worst COD's to come in decades, this is worse than that in almost every regard. This is Fallout 76 all over, a rushed game intended to make money during the Christmas season, released well before it's time, evidenced by the maps still being released and the content being added. You can't convince me this is a finished game, if so, the developers should find another line of work.

GrindTech might've been a better name for this game. It is repetition over and over, the attempted fix is a RNG that dramatically favors the computer opponent. You will hit a 20 ton mech ten times with skills in the 8s and 9s, and it will not die, then it will come up and headshot you with a single shot. This is something that's actually happened, numerous times, just read some posts on Reddit or Steam. This game really does nothing but anger me and the 20+ hours I spent playing it seem like a monumental waste of time. Paradox dropped this one on its head and it's not quite what it should be. Go somewhere else for a mech game, or tactical game for that matter, this game is just not what you're expecting. Fan boi's will upvote because "it's Battletech", but take it from me, a person who played every Battletech and Mechwarrior game ever released, this will only be a disappointment, and may ruin the entire franchise for you.

My suggestion is buy Mechwarrior Mercenaries 4, much better game. Don't even pick up this trash. I wanted to like this game. It seemed to have so much potential, however it's just not there. The initial mission is difficult to complete, ended up dying and having no where to rest, had to restart the game because I had my bedroll in my backpack. Just buy something else. If it was $14.99 or less it could be a weekend diversion, but honestly I doubt it will be anything more than that for most people. Pros- Survival game. It does it poorly, very poorly, but it is supposed to be a survival game. Cons- Poor graphics- maybe it was designed to run on any machine, but even at ultra and high the graphics are really bad. Controls- Difficult and awkward, can't enter combat without tabbing and locking onto your enemy, or else you will never be able to aim at them. Very poorly done. Also keep in mind there is no Jump. Literally a foot high wall will prevent you from moving forward. Just lazy programming at its finest. Final Verdict- Don't buy this game, there are so many good games out there. The hype from big name gaming mags has a lot to do with advertising dollars, not actual gameplay.

Jul 20, 2019
I've played every iteration of this franchise, from the original X-Men's Legends to the Ultimate Alliance Civil War and this is by far the worst. Lazy would be my description and poor balancing. Here's my own opinion, take it as you will... Controls- C- It's hard to understand how they thought this was adequate for a supposed A+ game. Half the time you need to resort to button smashing and even then you will end up getting hit over and over trying to simply do a quick attack. Frustrating to play against large groups of foes because the controls are just so poorly laid out and un-intuitive, you end up at a loss when it comes to figuring out what to do. Game play C: Average game play at best, which is sad for what this franchise has brought before. This is by the far the least enjoyable, because it simply does not have the qualities of it's predecessors. Finishing the first and second area are a chore and feels more like work than an enjoyable activity. Marvel Heroes had better game play in my opinion and that's really sad when it can be overshadowed by a game like that. This doesn't even take into account the atrocious, I mean absolutely crappy camera that's in this game, not just in coop either, but in solo and online multiplayer as well. Just so bad. Graphics C: It's a switch game, so I wasn't expecting much, however the graphics are just not there. The individual paper dolls on the menu screen are great, however the characters in the game look like something out of cheap Sunday morning cartoon, more than they do an actual comic book. The effects are cheap too... resembling more like blobs of light than actual explosions. Story C-: I don't know what I was expecting, but certainly not this. The story is not believable and at times it just feels like things are forced. I wish they had taken an actual story arch and used that, rather than this mishmash of stories that just don't work. Again, not what you expect from an A tier franchise. Overall: I would give the game a D, simply because, even though individually there are higher scores, nothing works well together. It's like putting a pro soccer, basketball, and baseball player on a Football team and expecting it to work. Individually they may be good at what they do, but they don't work well as a football team, and this doesn't work well as a game. Skip this game until it goes on sale. It's definitely not worth the $59.99 they're asking for right now.

I would like to give an honest review of this game, so to start, there are parts of this game that are really enjoyable, for instance harvesting and crafting are gems of this system, however PvP is still horribly balanced, ping can be atrocious (I lagged and came back dead during multiple battles) and there are still a ton of exploits and bugs. This game could've been amazing for a lot of people, however it's geared towards a niche player base that enjoy hardcore PvP. The fact is every game like this has gone the way of the dodo, or switched to PvE and PvP options. This game isn't and it's dying. The Free to Play has breathed a bit of life, but already a lot of the people who started play have stopped. I would give it one or two years more before it closes.

The Division is among my favorite first person shooters, surpassing Rainbow Six and Ghosts among the Tom Clancy games, however The Division 2 was not what I expected. It seemed cumbersome at times and the game play, even with a mid tier to high end system, was passable at best. Graphics suffer and are not much better than the original, this is with a Radeon Vega 56 at Ultra on 1440p. The game play seems worse, in my opinion. The added equipment options? Pointless in many regards, you're going to use the same exact skills and equips as everyone else. Gear? Same. It's supposed innovations, seem less innovative and more like sabotage. My suggestion, this is a game to buy on sale, don't pay full price.

This game ****. I don't know what else to say. I loved Marvel vs Capcom 3 so I bought it thinking it would be even better. The Story is just so bad, poorly written, poorly executed, locks you into battles where you are taking damage hitting your opponent and they take no damage at all, essentially highly unwinnable, not because of the skill level, but because they just make them invincible with damage shields and auto blocks that prevent you from doing anything. The character selection is just not enjoyable. There are really no good characters, just bad and worse. I would highly recommend you stay away from this pile of crap. First, this is not a Fallout game. I think if Bethesda had created a survival fps and not used the Fallout franchise to do so, this game would've gotten a higher rating, however, they didn't do that, they were money hungry and lazy and decided to cash in on a successful franchise (a legacy that was bought, not earned) and that is the crux of the issue. The game is okay, not bad, but not great, however when you choose to make an okay game and then laud it as the next Fallout, you're going to have issues. The graphics are okay, the game play is okay sometimes and poor at others (lag is a major factor here, with some mobs hitting you once or twice after you've killed them and others not being hit at all). This game feels rushed and still in the alpha stage (not really even beta) and that's the other issue. THERE ARE NO NPCS OTHER THAN ROBOTS! And I put that in Caps because that's a serious thing to me. Fallout was about an immersive post apocalyptic world where the people you met were as important as the destinations. This was missed by Bethesda. I think what happened is you got a bunch of young designers that love PUBG and Fortnite and decided they were going to make a Fallout based on those games. Again major fail and the game deserves the ratings it's gotten.

This game is horribly imbalanced and requires you to play one of twelve different types of decks in order to compete, and one of six different types in order to compete at the highest level. There is no creativity, just reading a deck list and collecting those cards. This isn't like Hearthstone where you can build a deck unlike other people's decks and still have fun, you are forced to play a specific type, most often based on Lethal or Mana Ramp, in order to compete. I discourage anyone from spending cash on this game, after spending $60 I got a total of 2 legendary and 4 epics. That was an average of $10 per card. The Skyrim story pack is also worthless in regards to rewards, so if you're completing it for cards, it's not going to help you much.

First, I should mention I felt obligated to give this game an eight, due to all the Secret World fan boi's voting it down, without giving it a fair chance. I have played both games and what I will share with you is my honest opinion about Secret World Legends, not compared to it's predecessor, but as a stand alone game. First, the game play is simple and easy to grasp. It's obvious they intend to port this to consoles and as a result the number of abilities one can use at one time are limited. This can seem like a handicap to many Secret World fans, but the difference is really just a few powers and it didn't effect my view of game play that much. Controls are easy to understand and the game is fairly easy, not just aim and shoot, but aim in the general direction and you still do some damage, which is nice when you're on a learning curve. Graphics don't seem to be that much better than before, but they are not shabby by any means. On ultra the details are easily comparable to other main stream MMO's and the lighting captures the atmosphere of conspiracy and horror the game tries to evoke quite well. Character classes are a misnomer, since there really aren't any, rather you choice of weapon combinations determines your powers, and this where it gets interesting, because it gives you a plethora of possibilities, maybe not as many as Secret World, but still enough to keep you busy trying out new things. My main complaints are the numerous things that cost real world money, from traveling to purchasing keys to opening caches. (Please see my edit notes below for more clarification.) This is where I get a bit miffed and wonder if it will be worth it in the long run. However, with this complaint in mind, keep in mind also that it's no worse than other MMOs such as Terra or Blade and Soul, and better than many. I'm talking to you Everquest 2! In the end if you're into horror, especially Cthulhu horror, than you'll probably enjoy this game. If that's not your cup of tea, do you like guns and swords? Well then you'll probably like this game too. EDIT: I changed my rating for this game because I came to realize just what a money sink this game is. You have to pay marks to get rid of Resurrection sickness, you can only open a limited amount of dungeon chests a day, The good loot, in caches, costs real money. Everything about this game is a nickle and dime experience that you don't really understand until you've invested time in it. Don't play this game if you don't want to spend real money, even if you subscribe you're going to have to spend real money. They tell you subscriptions are there to make the game more convenient, not remove the necessity to spend more cash.

This game is designed to make you buy a second copy. There is a hidden MMR in competition that prevents you from achieving SR beyond a certain level. Essentially the matches are rigged so you can't win enough matches to really progress, so most players end up buying a second account in order to achieve their "real SR", however, more often than not they can't because, after all, the game is rigged. If you end up buying this game, expect to be disappointed. Expect to have deep losing streaks, followed by shallow win streaks. Essentially you are not as bad as you think and the game capitalizes on that idea by placing you with crappy players and, as Blizzard openly admitted, starting you at an SR 200-300 below your actual SR to give you a false sense of achievement. My suggestion play Paladins, it's free and similar enough that you wont have to pay for the abuse.

Well I've been waiting for awhile to play this game. I love the pen and paper Shadowrun and by proxy thought I'd love the video game as well. Well love is a strong word. I guess you'd say I like Shadowrun Returns, but certainly there is no love. I wish I could love the game, but the fact is there are just too many things that turn me off about it, the chief among them being the fact you can only save at the beginning of a mission. Now that doesn't seem too annoying until you realize that a mission usually takes at least 15 to 20 minutes to complete, and some can take upwards of an hour. With that in mind, you die, you have to restart from the beginning of the scene. This can get really frustrating, really fast. Yes it's an old school method, a return to our roots, so to speak, but certain roots were dug up because the only thing that grew from them were trees rife with frustration. Second is the class system. Now the problem here is that it is far too simplistic, harboring only a mere shell of the actual pen and paper game. The mechanics are fine for a hack and slash game that will only be played once and then put back up on the shelf until the prequel or sequel comes out, but that's not what most of are buying this game for. No, this was supposed to be our chance to have persistent characters that you could use over the course of multiple campaigns. I guess you could do that, but the fact is, there are so few items and so few abilities, you have to wonder what's the point? Why would a game so full of possibilities limit itself to the extent that Shadowrun Returns has? The fact is most classes only have a handful of abilities that scale with your level. New abilities are few and far between. In the end you wont be seeing many new skills, but instead you'll be playing the same character, just with more hit points, doing more damage, repeating the same skills over and over and over and over... well you get the point. Okay, so that's all my complaints. In the end I gave the game a six, because there are some good things to mention as well. First, unless you purchased your computer in the Ice Age, chances are it'll run this game. That doesn't sound too important until you remember all the games that require you to have a state of art system just to meet the recommended requirements. Second the graphics are sharp and I mean sharp. The details are nice. Third the user interface is well done, nothing new, but certainly easy to understand and get used too. Now would I recommend this to other gamers? Certainly. Would I pre-purchase it if I knew how frustrated playing it would make me? Maybe. Is it worth $19.99, hell yeah. Is it comparable to Neverwinter Nights, Freedom Force, and other top down RPGs that have come along? Well yes, but it certainly falls behind those games. As I said, nothing new, nothing really amazing, but it's certainly worth it if you want to have some fun over the weekend. (It took me less than 16 hours to complete the campaign that comes with the game, just in case you're wondering.) My final evaluation, okay game, okay concept, but nothing amazing to write to your friends about.
