I went to see this with my friend in the cinema, and dear god were we disappointed. First things first, the action and stunts are all amazing, but they're not the issue. My first problem came literally at the very start, and that's that this film does not carry on from Dead Reckoning efficiently, the characters are split up all over the place, and we've been introduced to a situation completely different from where we left off in the last film. Hell, Luther is in some kind of hospital underground, why is it underground? I have no idea. Why is he sick? Not sure. What illness does he have? No idea. But of course that doesn't matter because Luther is barely in the film, yeah, he dies like less than half an hour into the film. My next issue is the main villain, the Entity, the ghostly, harrowing, seemingly omnipotent AI from Dead Reckoning, has absolutely no presence whatsoever, everyone's trying to destroy it, and what does it do, nothing! Just chills and in it's infinite wisdom, decides to let Ethan destroy him because it thought he would choose to save it, or something like that. Another issue I have is that the other villain
Really good, I'm not a huge fan of Jim Carrey, so this film really surprised me. It had some great criticisms of the media, brilliant performances, an outstanding concept and a perfect ending. The main character is very lovable, so it made it amazingly satisfying to see him make his own choices for the first time. Overall an amazing, happy and satisfying film with a wonderful protagonist.
Amazing, completely brilliant. Christopher Nolan truly cannot miss (if you forget Tenet). It is very emotional, and is supported by an incredible story, utterly amazing visuals, great performances all around and a brilliant sense of passion and creativity.
Very good overall. Great concept and some amazing performances from the cast. I found it a bit slow in the beginning, but once it starts to connect it's really good.
Terrible, absolutely terrible, worst X Men film I have ever seen (I haven't seen New Mutants though). It is visually appalling and has one of the most boring and uninspired storylines I have seen in my life. It has a terrible villain, accompanied by a lifeless performance from the actress, and it completely abandoned plotlines from Apocalypse and sidelined multiple great characters (Quicksilver) in favour of...well, nothing. There was one cool scene on a prison train where the X-Men were showing of their powers, giving all of them time to shine, but only for about ten minutes.
One of my favourite films ever. So funny, so heartfelt, so incredible, James Gunn really cooked with this. It was easily the best way the truly perfect Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy could end off. It's kinda crazy that this film somehow feels nostalgic to me even though it only. came out two years ago.
This is such a good film. A little silly at times but usually it's just genuinely funny. I think the fact that the last Superman was MoS makes me appreciate this movie so much more. Almost all of the characters (looking at you Engineer) were funny and really lightened up the film. I still think Thunderbolts was better because the themes felt more serious and relevant but that doesn't stop Superman from being one of the best DC (and arguably superhero) films of all time.
The sequels are kind of a** to be honest, but The Force Awakens is actually kind of good, I think characters like Finn and Kylo Ren had a lot of potential, most of which was created in this movie. It had some great moments and honestly if the sequels kept this consistency in the other two films they would've been a lot better.
Very good. The critics kind of glaze it if I'm being honest. But it had a good story, a great setting, an interesting protagonist, and one of the MCU's best villains in Killmonger.
Easily the best superhero film of all time. Batman's character arc, Heath Ledger's performance and the ending all solidify this as a classic and generational film.
Really great film. All of the characters were interesting and relatable in their own way. Had some very important themes. Another upside is that you don't really have to have seen any previous MCU movies to understand it. Very enjoyable experience, would definitely recommend.
