It's not powerful stuff, but it's intriguing in every way and I will definitely recommend Hush as a counterpart to most **** jump fests of poor acting we get nowadays.

Midnight special is a colossal disappointment. A hugely potential film which has all it's technicalities spot on, yet the production team seemed stuck at what to fill in a grey area of space with. Grey space they tried to make special, signifying nothing. A cloudy film which wanders and happens with no harm done, but it's an eyesore in otherwise compelling blue patches of sky.

Spotlight I recommend you check out (Although the majority of you already have I can assume. It is a cold film about the long complicated road of 'doing the right thing'.

Hell and back is a missed stop-motion opportunity which could've served to be as funny as some Robot Chicken sketches (like the star wars parodies) but infused with a complete slate of originality. This is just viewable, but effortless, junk.

Crash leaves some things unsolved, perhaps some things are missing which needed to be added. But it delivers a harsh yet truthful message on racism and other hints of issues in the U.S.A such as healthcare and firearms policies. A relatively heart-pounding feat which gets better as it progresses.

To conclude, watch Batman v Superman. It is a solid, startlingly poignant movie with some good action and good acting. The final battle left me frowning, but I couldn't help but clap along with the rest of the cinema when it was over. I enjoyed the ride, and I think there is some grim and exciting potential for Suicide Squad and Justice League.

I don't even want to go into detail into any scene, just go watch it. Experience this for yourself because it is something significantly special. Expect a claustrophobic thriller packed with a commentary on risk, chance, consequence and conspiracy as well as a smooth, exciting blend with the first. Totally worth your time.

High-Rise is an encapsulation of everything **** insane about human hierarchy nature and is a certainly unique, well-shot and also well paced film with a lot of girth and brutality in it's message. You'll laugh, you'll cringe and you'll probably also have a lot of fun.

To conclude though, Terminator is the default 80s action film to go to. Not perfect, but it is solid in pacing, visuals (for the time), action and the concept of man vs machines in a bleak and hopeless future. One definitely for a film-makers handbook.

To conclude, I reckon you can go see Eddie the Eagle and have a good time. Taron Egertons performance will charm and drown out it's flawed core. As well as an epic, awe-inspiring conclusion, this film makes out for a grin-worthy time. My inner monologue was just a cycle of "Bless his little heart!"

Zootropolis, like it's animals, have a panorama of personalities as well as advantages and disadvantages, it is by no means a perfect film, but it pits itself so well not to be, that it turns out to be just a little less than **** and brighten up someone's day and try to understand that we're all different. We might as well stop fear stirring between us and understand that their is no 'Zootopia' really, but you can puzzle piece one together for yourself from people you love.

Overall, it's not harmful or eye-rolling or cringey at all. Kung fu panda was never about that, you will find entertainment in this for certain. However it's just not particularily memorable or intriguing to say the least.

"So I recommend the witch, not because it is a scary movie. But because it upset me, this was an upsetting and drearily grey film which I respected for it's amazing film making craft and it's unfiltered religious absorption. A arguably dated, old-fashioned but respectably uneasy folk-tale."

"It's such a shame that the brief periods of richness are cut by scenes of unnecessary and time consuming dialogue between characters which serves no resolution, no end to danger and nothing at all. It's not even that the dialogue is bad or unbearable, it's just filler for time"

There is nothing worth caring about in this movie, it's predictable, laughable, well-shot and fairly well acted tripe. Burnt looses all three Michelin stars. And it made me loose my sanity.

Mei ren yu or in English, 'The Mermaid', is my first Stephen Chow film. I am thoroughly impressed. Sure, the mermaid does follow many tired narratives around love and the protection of the environment. Despite this, The Mermaid is the catch of the day. Its striking and unique visuals serve as an aid to it's rich and beautiful protagonist of the mermaid herself, it's all a bit over the top. This still blends well with the comedic moments that the film offers as well as the striking cinematography. The love story certainly feels rushed along with a stock villain that is shipped out at the last second, yet every issues the characters face are nonetheless overwhelmed by the gorgeous, rich and raw elegance that nature displays versus the glazed money machine metropolises. It's a relatively cheesy, one on one hilarious fight against ideals. It's glorious.

Of course, this romp never hits the same kind of fresh, grimey and realistic marks as Borat did, but for a second, albeit a slightly less authentic attempt, this is miles better than 'just fine'. Bruno does focus more on gay stereotypes than it does the modelling agency, but with that comes more windows on exposure of self-absorbed real life bigoted people. What you see on screen, a man licking the hairy ginger nipples off another man is somehow less shocking than the reaction from the crowd. It's a very certain type of comedy that Sacha Baron Cohen produces and it is as intriguing as it is gut bustlingly hysterical. When I was not laughing my arse off, I was merely giggling and smiling, allowing a space of breath between each hilarious moment that makes sure to get you each time. Considerably clever.

I think Big Hero 6's main issue is how caught it is with it's incredibly humble premise, that it forgets to set up the world it's created in. This is all very fast moving, even for a kid's film and whilst it is admirably decently animated, Big Hero 6 doesn't create too much depth as to what it is trying to achieve. A generator of sympathy, meaning the bad guy is essentially non threatening at all. It's also a shame that genuinely quirky and interesting characters like Wasabi and Freddie didn't get a whole opportunity to explore their potential as much as they should've, giving warm and relieving addition to their futuristic suits. This being said, Big Hero 6 is solid to entertain, the chemistry between Baymax and Hiro is humble and charming and will please as a family movie. Just don't expect anything too meaningful, it often gets too caught up in sad moments that it forgets the environment it is set in isn't that harmful at all.

I think what I love most about Silence of the Lambs is it's filming craft. This movie truly heightens your sense to the maximum degree, you are completely and utterly aware of intentions and brooding desires from both Buffalo Bill and Hannibal, but does it completely succeed in feeding these desires? Not entirely, but in many respects it does. The film clearly has a certain essence of expression to it for it's first pointed to be generic yet surprisingly deep hill-billy antagonist. We can see an almost angering cycle of predator transforming into scavenger and a brief victory of innocence immediately terminated by the film's excellent conclusion which indicates a slightly ambiguous, although intentionally intriguing, return to norm. However, I believe Silence of the Lambs may be a little too intrigued with it's fascinating characters to give them any lore or necessary origin, something I was craving to see from Hannibal but oh my mouth was completely watering to see it from Buffalo Bill. This confused moth man, I was likewise confused whether to feel sympathy or not due to the fantastic Goodbye Horses sequence. Nonetheless, Silence of the lambs is a structural master-class and daringly explores decay in it's natural form although it's complete cocooning whittles away at some earth ****, pivotal messages the film was aiming for.

Simply, Deadpool cannot stop. This movie is everything, a comedy, a romance, a showcase of grim dramatic tension and a smack down all combined. As a superhero origin story, Deadpool could have the tendency to slip and trip up and stumble tones once in a while, but thinking about it deeply, Deadpool does not stumble as it is running too fast. You're taken by the balls straight into the madness whilst giving a purge of hilarious detail for the love conflict, the superhero aspect, the villainous revenge plot and it's passion. You could imply that Deadpool is a love letter to love itself, but because it's gratuitous nature and grizzly yet comedic release, dead-pool is a love letter to pornography, sex and human lust. It's a charming, cartoonist chocolate coated tumour, mentally growing on you over time, and it's ludicrously entertaining. Messy has never been so organised.

Napoleon Dynamite is the cinematic equivalent of a plate of really good Nachos. As it's opening credit's suggest, the food cooked in Napoleon Dynamite is not a cuisine of highest excellency, it's not a tour de force but it shouldn't be. Like Nachos, it's tortilla chips are pathetic, or can be pathetic at times which is the film's release of fantastic comedic moments. Pathetic is the film's number one aim, which in turn the conflict arises is petty, dumb yet oh so humorous. Your body quickly adapts to it's rolling of the eyes styled backing board of the movie as Napoleon hangs a toy from a string from the school bus window. Why does he do this? I have no idea but it sets the tone ever so well. The cheese topping this fine plate of greasy, oily fried goodness is the fantastical imagination released in it's climax, a battle of the cringes, through dance and music and humble revelations to every character's infinite frustrations. It's what makes this film special and unique. Napoleon Dynamite is a hidden hero amongst minority men, the batman of fat lard city, a poorly drawn fantasy. A Liger in it's central crest...

Eli Roth's gore shock horror piece started out generally well. What is barbaric? Well, everyone is. The so called 'good guys from the west' to the vicious 'jungle people', which also counts as the timber men. There is nothing civil about this movie, everyone is greedy in some respects with their own self-absorbed drives. What stops this film from reaching higher potential is it's derivative script. Some of the worst screen writing I've ever seen along with pretty mediocre acting combined. The Green Inferno overall will be impressive to most gore fans, but for everyone else, some of it's gore is just stupid and meaningless. And one huge unresolved arc hanging at the end creates an unsatisfying atmosphere around the green inferno, a foreshadowing circle jerk.

In Zoolander, we had a small commentary on the child labour industry on fashion, but in Zoolander 2, we get a commentary about how fashion has gone from weird to extravagantly bizarre. Just like our sweet and stupid protagonist of it all, Zoolander 2 is intensely hilarious. Sure, I'll admit that the narrative shifts like a stumbling horse, but the encapsulation of madness overwhelms the senses and almost drugs you into laughing. It's thrilling. We get just what made the first one so brilliant and more, some especially excellent cameos. Be warned, those who didn't like the first Zoolander will hate this one even more I **** for those of us finding the sort of OTT and strange zoolander comedy in the first one, this is really really ridiculously good fun.

Yes, it's problematic at times. The plot-line with it's twists is predictable for a war time comedy and not every laugh strikes as hard as they are sectioned out to be, but as a homage to the original series, this is charming to the maximum degree. Blindingly humble from all corners, this sitcom to film do does not take itself too seriously and with that comes massive respect. Good show chaps, and with an all star cast the acting makes for even more comfortable granddad styled humour. To describe it best , Dad's army is like a family recipe. Not the best of meals to any extent, but it is warm and clogs your arteries with raw British chemistry.

Much like the awkward animal courtship this fairy tale story presents, Eagle vs Shark well display as confusing for some. It may be hard to understand and it's frustrating that the two protagonists don't click immediately, the sentimental message of two humans wishing to act anything is weaved beautifully however as you watch them flock and fade apart and form back together again. It's mesmerising, like a hilarious documentary about an unlikely bond which in turn becomes more likely as you go deeper into their pasts. Taika Waititi is a craftsmen of the bizarre.

You know with such an intriguing and silly premise, this movie has a panorama of opportunities to come up with some genuinely scary, gruesome and funny ideas. Does it fill these opportunistic wholes? In some cases, yes. There were a few nifty and pretty skin crawling visuals, and I chuckled here and there. But overall, this dumb mess of dialogue and awkward humour with characters you simply do not care about as their background is rushed and embarrassing. I was consistently questioning the choice of pacing as well as the lore of these mysterious bee like creatures. Give the monster some damn respect! It has all the wacky potential with little entertainment added to it. I really would give this one a miss, Stung is not funny nor scary enough to be anything. It's an experiment, and much like it's displayed creatures, turns out ugly and disgusting, coated with blood.

Perhaps it's particularity to taste in comedy and style at the beginning of this movie threw me off a little. Somehow, it didn't feel natural and was almost messily edited one could phrase. Little did I know, we were just getting a taste of the overwhelming and utterly disgusting national doom in 2008 when the American Economy fell right on it's arse. Phenomenal performances across the board from Bale, Gosling, Pitt and Carrell captivate you to feel not for one person, not even for a few thousand, but millions who lost their homes and jobs. It was almost documentarian how this was shot, keeping it swimmingly entertaining whilst gradually increasing dramatic potential until the final fall. A pivotal economic film and certainly as good as a lingering concern for the global population has ever been with scatterings of clever, self-aware and helpful humour. I'm impressed how they could make a film with such impossible devices could have such a real tone to it.

Robert De Niro proves comedic talent, as well as a decent performance from Zac Effron. I think the greatest part of this movie was it's entire carpe diem motive, the fact that our protagonist has been conditioned for stationary demeaning work renders him as a blunt pencil, De Niro breathes some wanted life into him, and in himself (and possibly into Aubrey Plaza, but not in the metaphorical sense). However, a long string of jokes that deliver some truly funny hits, doesn't make up for the rushed exposition, probably one of the most rushed expositions I've ever seen from the movie. And when the jokes don't land, it's embarrassing for everyone, a ripple of awkwardness just hit's your soul, it's very unpleasant. Combine that with some unmoving and cliché story progressives and Dirty Grandpa is quite a disappointment. However, if it's a rainy sunday night, and you've got nothing else to do, Dirty Grandpa may be there to leave a humorous, old and raunchy hand at the ready.

It could be argued that the Revenant is potentially stuffed to the brim with too much delicate symbology that it may contradict itself at times and ends up with a **** of messages that together make no apparent sense. Despite this, The Revenant is truly an absorbing and captivating tale. Using the Native Americans vs the white man as it's historical basis, the revenant manages to conjure up impeccable imagery and devilishly clever cinematography to soothe an otherwise harrowing journey. Don't get me wrong, it stings hard, the blood stains the screen and you can feel scars form across your skin as you watch Di Caprio clamber and spit through snow, grass and flesh. As a testament to the Native Americans who lost their homes and family, The Revenant is an undisputed masterpiece, but what it's trying to achieve for Hugh Glass is ultimately, a tad messy.

Found footage horror has had a bad reputation, but Cloverfield certainly does not fit into the same awful quality movie. In fairness, the shaky cam aspect, although impressively realistic, does give off a relatively annoying feel to the movie. That and the camera holder throughout this movie had no relevant commentary. Those are my only two major gripes with Cloverfield, the rest of this movie is a tragic, saddening thrill ride through the streets of New York whilst a monster tears building's (and people) to absolute shreds. There doesn't need to be any real exposition to this film, because the parallels to 9/11 and other tragic world events are scary. When a piece of violence is executed, you never get a full glimpse of a shower of organs, but just of a blur of blood, sound and consistent screaming. Shook me to my absolute core.

X-men days of future past is the follow-up to first class, and is again, a very good movie. This film is viscerally relentless in spectacular fight scenes and moments of pure speculation on our characters which weaves beautifully and brutally into the chaotic future it so holds. However, I do not prefer this one over first class. That is unprecedented in my personal opinion. The main issue being in it's subtlety. There are a few sequences which seem to pile on explanation as 'would you believe I'm from the future?' with a comedic moment. Although in some scenarios, it is well done. A moment that works especially well is the one on one with Xavier and Xavier, and from a conclusive standpoint, it works artfully well. For me, X-men days of future past is not as fantastic as First Class, and in some ways lacks. But as a symbolic resolution, this is impressively fun and presents a relevant moral message that we can all follow, and even has the guts to make it conspicuous in it's development whilst proving that there are no true lefts or rights to each character, much like mutants, we are a complex mesh. A minority, and by showing each other the right way and instead of destroying each other, a peaceful end may come.

It has good intentions this film does. At least this crude sci-fi comedy has some moments of awe and emotion to it right? Seth Rogen plays the character of Paul very well. He is charming, likeable and you attatch to him immediately. Apart from that, this is a deeply flawed movie. Some jokes don't land, others do. Some plot points make no sense. It's such a shame this was a comedy I remember loving. Now it's just ok, not bad, not too good either.

Anyone remember Starship Troopers? That bloody, violent, sexual and brutal space alien war movie that was cheesy as f*ck? Well, Pacific Rim dons the honour of it's magnum opus. At first, this movie opened to have the same potential as that movie. Sure it would be cheesy, but the modern day and age for films as extravagant as pacific rim gives it tendency to be boring. Pacific Rim is not boring. Pacific Rim is one of the most fun movie's I've ever seen. What makes this better than Starship Troopers, is that when it gets cheesy, it has a sincere and genuinely rich, soulful link to it's prominent message. The bond friends, family and lovers share. A human bond, not a Kaiju bond. A little exposition on why the Kaijus are the way they are would be better, nonetheless I highly recommend Pacific Rim in all it's colourful, monster thwomping glory!

I think Its the film encapsulation of the term **** and sugar mixed'. This film is quite beautifully shot, and has some impressive visual effects for such a low budget. However, I could never tell what this wanted to be. Such an intriguing premise prompts a healthy mixture of action and drama (take a page from Chronicle for example) but what tried to be Josh Trank's cinematic experience was rather dumbfounded magic tricks and acting that could never grasp onto what our main character, Melvin, was trying to achieve.

Perhaps what I liked the most about Inception, is that from a film making standpoint it is an absolute marvel, directorial wet dream. However, from a story standpoint Inception has a habit of delving (or to be audacious, dreaming) to far into it's concept as well as con-skewing itself to Dom Cobb without any massaging to why we have a relationship or a care for his character apart from that he's a father. Don't get me wrong, I like the balls it had to go so far into such a complex idea, the execution is just disappointingly masking pretentious slop.

Not Tarantino's best, but it is still certainly a good movie. Of course, gorgeous cinematography, breathtaking dialogue with suspenseful sequences along with superb acting across the board (and a, whilst possibly rehashed, important final moral) makes this a good movie. However, this movie has a habit of shifting tones when it shouldn't as well as sticking to a messy rhythm. I would still recommend this one, Tarantino fans will love it as it still has it's blood and light humour. Just be warned, almost 3 hours of running time will bring it down for some, it did a little for me.

Got to say, I'm rather disappointed. To begin with, Tom Hardy is still a cracker. Excellent performance, breathing life into this nutter, exceptional work. Also, cinematography was also very impressive. This being said, for a movie about the most violent criminal in Britain, it is grainy in it's entertainment and becomes pretentious very fast, awkward blend of Art and Dark Humour, doesn't quite fit together as I'd hoped.

Holy **** A perfect Romance Comedy I mean, I am just in awe at how they balanced them out so well, I was both laughing and crying with joy at how much this worked. And brilliant acting from Sudeikis and Brie, these two have so much chemistry it's insane. It is rich in substance and adult humour and you love seeing these two cling on each other, every morsel of this film down to the last second is perfect. Everyone should watch this movie, well...unless you're with your parents.

Technologically aware and ethically infused, Dope had the potential to squander all it's meaning on the hardships of growing up in the ghetto neighbourhoods. Instead, it focuses primarily on not blaming a certain group but instead focuses on the main voice of this generation, **** happens' and that bad luck comes to those who don't necessarily deserve it. Sure it gets pretentious at times, but Dope pulls it back with comedic elements and stylised nostalgia giving this movie a unique look.

This is a family comedy worth watching. Although it seemed to open up to be another clichéd dumb comedy, it is considerably clever in it's conclusion and makes for one sweetly hilarious compromise for both dad and dad. Just be warned, slapstick humour is firm and prominent.

At first, this seemed like a bleak attempt to become a soppy bond between a girl and a boy. But instead it produced a truly cruel and heartbreaking message about the tragedy that was the American Frontier whilst also giving insight to how society began to evolve and change for empathetic meaning. Michael Fassbender once again, excels. A tweak on the opening would've made this movie better I do think.

What Chappie missed out on. A beautifully shot, well executed take on the beauty of artificial intelligence and the sicking entrapment that we imagine they can't escape. A wonderful ploy on my personal views of human sexual nature likewise, this is surely not one too be missed, even if it ties things up rather unintentionally cruel.

It's revenge styled plot to massacre the **** doesn't merge with an all rounded sensitivity portrayed towards certain characters, but the bloodthirst of war and the sacrifice made by men feasting on anger and men who knowingly indulge themselves in evil is exceptional. I think the graphic violence to come ith a Tarantino film does eventually work in this film as a simplistic styled message in how society works. Those who are extreme and act, will be punished and die. Damned, to hell. But those who are extreme but cheat the system through a layer of the people who crave satisfaction with formality come out on top in this world.

It's admittedly cringe-worthy at times through a rehashed message on the importance of Christmas spirit, but that is completely mauled over by the unstoppable tide of hilariously crafted characters. Perfectly encapsulating a locked -antlers family over the Christmas holidays...this is probably my favourite Christmas movie, and with an overly clichéd message, that's quite the achievement.

It's a silly racist fairytale of a movie by Sacha and co, but amidst the disastrously rushed first act, there are moments of touching sweetness along with brilliant political commentary with mysteriously warming laughs alongside Aladeens quest for resurgence.

It's not the perfect animated movie, that goes without saying but something about the peanuts movie placed a large grin on my face. I enjoyed that this is probably one of the furthest movie's away from being meta and technologically annoying as one can get. For this film, it works absolutely giving Charles Schulz's legacy a humble but not too ambitious applause. The pacing is a little uneven with the snoopy/red-baron segments and seems to unceasingly draw away from a great focus on Charlie Brown's character (somewhat lurching simple morals into his story as well that don't mesh together healthily). Don't get me wrong, Snoopy and Woodstock were absolutely fantastic in this movie and crisp, classic and styled animation wraps the animal team in a warming bow.

This is not a flawless movie, people will say it is but it does have it's flaws. That being said, so does every star wars film. And this one is my joint favourite. My god...what a rebirth of franchise once left for dead, the charisma between old and new folk alike is exceptional and the humour has been reinvigorated as well as the acting once dry in the prequels. Make no mistake, there were a few things I had issues with. The look of snoke was ehhh, not too menacing in my opinion (CGI was a tad off, he looked moderately fragile which I did particularly like) and there were a few major things taken from previous films. However this burst of nostalgia along with some of the best character work I've ever seen in a film gives it pure life. The starship battles being fun and heart-pounding alike, and a brand new charm from BB-8 makes this one of the best Star Wars film along with Empire Strikes Back. Watch this film, again and again and again...

It provides hit and miss laughs, some laughs being genuinely from the diaphragm, there are some good morals sprinkled in as well. However, Sandler always produces something with a pathway of toilet humour and the occasional causal racism/sexism. I would've bumped this up to a higher rating as pixels deserved but it lacked the magic and well executed action scenes of Chris Columbus.

This really is an entertaining adaptation. But it lacks a lot of substance and somewhat lacks integrity. Acting was very enthusiastic but seemed like they were trying their hardest in a story which is so overused and has been done a million times that they needed something extra for imagination. There was just nothing particularly new or surprising. Plus, the very end scene really got me pissed off from the film's overall moral, it felt like a betrayal in honesty. That said, I wasn't angry with this movie, nor was I bored for the most part. It was solidly entertaining and you'll have a good time at the cinema with this one.

I feel like this kind of movie shouldn't get such a high rating but nonetheless this film deserves it. Genuinely, this movie ticked all the boxes I look for in a Christmas film and spoof as well as a dramedie. The references to Christmas traditions blend in so well with overall dismissal of tradition so you can move on with your life is perfect, I guess a couple flaws may come from the fact that there were some conflicting elements in the abruptness being good and bad from Joseph Gordon Levitt's character, and the abusal of drug jokes (Seth **** it HAS to be included....). But Overall, the simplistic nature of the drama it proposed worked so well with the sweetness of the comedy. This comes close to elf as my favourite Christmas comedy of all time.
