Anno 207010

A game dedicated for all careful economy and city designers. I prefer it to others such as SimCity or Settlers, as this game has much more content and depth. The graphics and art design are fabulous, the music is a great match, and the whole game has a "relaxing" mood about it. I personally keep coming back to this game after a hard day's work, to expand my island empire and micromanage all the trade routes that keep your civilization from collapsing. A true Anno game, but better.

Battlezone (1998)10

I remember trying this game when it came out. Graphics were ok for the time, however what this game shines for is its amazing game-play mixture of strategy and first-person vehicle action. No other game that decade had attempted to mix such a type of strategy (Mobile factories, vehicle building and customisation) with excellent personal combat (You control a flying tank!). Both succeed brilliantly by themselves, and even better when combined together. The story it self is great as well (Cold-War era battles between USA and USSR, with flying tanks on the Moon and beyond?!). This game is for those that adore the complexity of strategy games, while having the urge of getting their hands dirty in close combat. I fully recommend giving this (Or its sequel BZ2) a go and see for yourself!

Battlezone II: Combat Commander10

An amazing mixture of RTS with proper action elements, it is a diamond **** in a lake full of muddy attempts. It succeeds to give importance to all aspects of game-play without sacrificing anything, not even the story. The combination of building an army to support you at the same time you can personally defend your troops in battle is achieved seamlessly like no other game in the history of PC gaming. This was already seen in the original Battlezone, but improved graphics, streamlined controls and fun game-play will pump adrenaline into your system both in single and multi-player modes. Extra fun on lan games!
