Atlas Fallen10

Another blatant example of how useless the gaming “journalism” has become. This is a game that knows it’s just a combination of better games - like it’s spiritual predecessor, Darksiders - and I love it for that reason. It isn’t trying to be some grandiose BS or act super duper serious. As one idiot critic says in their review, “Fine isn’t acceptable in 2023”, a tremendously stupid thing to say, particularly considering the insane level of irony having that come from a C-list website and someone part of an industry that keeps lowering its standards. But, alas, being good at a few different things but not reinventing the wheel is just not nearly good enough nowadays somehow. You’ve got to overcommit to one gimmick like most games with overly huge empty worlds and gloomy self-seriousness in order to be more than “Fine” these days. For me? No thanks. The combat is great, the environments and movement are top tier, even the straightforward story isn’t as bad as some make it sound - it’s mostly a couple specific voice acting performances that are reeeeally bad. I had and am still having a blast playing Atlas Fallen. It has other little flaws but they’ve been repeated ad nauseam. So I’ll just say it’s probably a solid 7.5, maybe an 8 if you love the combat style. It isn’t a 10, but it absolutely isn’t a 2 or whatever, let alone a 0. Plastering “0” scores on things they haven’t experienced or overreacting to one particular thing they don’t like, is something cretins on this site love to do, so even though I don’t like just giving it a 10 to “balance it out”, there’s less than 40 scores right now and I feel I need to help get it closer to reality. I would hesitate buying it at full price only if you’re looking for a AAA package with the production and story at that level. Otherwise, if you want to just shut your brain off and fly around the place with sick traversal and old school PS2/PS3 style God of War-like combat, I say go for it.

Another metacritic cesspool full of bots and incels. MC as been very slowly getting better at removing fake review spamming but this one was never cleaned up. You can always tell immediately. There’s always some random small country crying about their language not being included because developers now need to have full 100% production quality across every market no matter how little they matter. Then you have the jobless mouth breathers who cannot afford new games and just copy/paste the same trashy, shallow two sentences because there’s some gay people somewhere in the game. The people who cry about every little thing being “WOKE” are sexually confused, self-hating snowflakes. Sorry, it’s not our fault you’ve got issues from what your daddy did to you. Get a therapist instead of having a meltdown over Disney movies and video games. As for the game itself, this is one of three FC games since the original that actually has a soul, FC3 and 5 being the others (by the way, it’s absolutely HILARIOUS how the cretins I described above now apparently LOVE FC5 when it was at first considered “anti-American” LOL). There are some design choices and story elements that I would have definitely changed, as well as some boring side activity/questing options, but there is a decent feel of authenticity here although it’s drowned out at times. Another thing that annoys me is how the game suffers from the same thing that has plagued basically all forms of multimedia nowadays - an obsession with mistaking “let’s kill everyone around protagonist, including other main characters, and surround them with constant brutality” as “seriousness”. Sorry, but that isn’t how it works. Instead it gets to a point where there’s no reason to even a reason to develop any emotional attachment or give an F about really anything with how all these movies, shows, games, etc. that think they’re being clever or “real”. This is, I think, why the game - again, like many others - tries for moments of levity and comedy in-between, but a lot of times these come off as awkward or forced. As for the rest, the gun play is good, graphics are great, there are no “bugs” - which is another vague code word used when these sad losers try really hard to make their “0” score of something they’ve never experienced, look like a real review. Overall, not the greatest FC, but definitely not the worst (FC1 on console and FC Primal). It’s a solid 7.5 or so, maybe a 6 or 8 depending on how burned out you are on these “open world” action games. Of course I have to give it a 10 on this site because of the aforementioned sad trash bombing its score. Definitely worth grabbing now as it’s super cheap on every console and *just* (literally today) became free on PS Plus.

Metacritic has always been a haven for trash because of a lack of moderation, but now they not only do nothing about review-bombing, they actively delete those who fight back. Pathetic. Another product bombed by a dozen snowflake incels. I have never seen such an easily triggered group of subhumans as these losers. It came down to one line. Also, it was slowly made very clear how Aloy identified (most likely bi but not actively looking for romance), if it’s a shock, you’re just a moron. You can even turn down the new girl and they won’t kiss, also there was a romantic line option with the Sun King at the very beginning of the game. So then, these triggered idiots are crying about a nonissue since Aloy is meant to be open and fluid, not a locked in lesbian. The best part is when they have no idea what the product even is since it’s just penniless trolls usually. The bit about the Japanese was my fav part (the devs are English), like every videogame is made in japan LMAO. As for the game itself, it’s probably an 8, losing points for not having a ton of content especially with the main story. Also, to those whining about it not being on PS4 - it’s been THREE YEARS. How much longer do we have to cater to an old gen? Did SNES games play on NES?

Once again, there has never been a more easily triggered, crybaby group of hypocrites as the review bombers on MetaCritic, who cry about literally any mention of anything they don’t like, as “wOkE”. The bar for them pissing their pants is equivalent to the Taliban and middle eastern theocracies at this point. Someone mention a gay person? WOKE! Have a random tiny bit of dialogue and wandering around a pride parade? WOKE! You will be stoned with dozens of 0s and 1s by the Morality Police. You can literally see the froth forming around their agape mouths. The best part is that it’s the same ones rushing in on any movie, music album or video game, regardless of whether they actually watched, listened or played it (spoiler alert: they haven’t). 95% of them have zero experience with whatever they’re wailing about and just parrot the same vague crap over and over again. I’d love for MC to take some responsibility and IP ban these scrubs, but alas, clicks are king. As for those who actually have money to purchase things and come looking for real reviews, I apologize you have to dig through this muck. There are some good ones sprinkled amongst the dredge, so I’ll be brief. The experience you’ll have with this game is inversely proportional to what your standards were going into it. Don’t compare it to the Arkham series; it ain’t that. Combat isn’t as engaging, and it’s not as sprawling and developed as you’d expect for a AAA “open world RPG”. The story develops nicely but the experience as a whole doesn’t feel fully complete. On the technical side, there are legitimate issues and gripes to be had, especially if you’re on a current gen console (PS5/XBOX Series X/S), in particular the frame rate hovering around 30 or less. I’d recommend this for someone who is a big DC/Batman fan, but waiting for some patches and updates to smooth out problems as well as a price drop, isn’t a bad idea. 7/10 game. 10/10 score to do my minuscule part in offsetting the fundamentalists posing as buying customers.

Metacritic is the home of illiterate incels spam review bombing anything and everything that even has a whiff of diversity. I have never seen a more sensitive, whiny, spineless group of heathens as these “anti-woke” failed abortions that spill their tears all over every product on this site. 99% of the negative reviews have never played/seen/watched/listened to whatever they’re 0-bombing. There is no moderation and this site is a joke. Oh, the game itself is about a 7-7.5. It’s fairly entertaining but sometimes tries too hard to be funny and can be repetitive at times.
