The original Half-Life was a great game, but when they remade it in the source engine I thought it would be with HD models and improved graphics, but instead it was just ragdolls, water, and a few lighting effects like shadows. I didn't like it as much as the original because with the Source engine it takes away some of the nostalgia, but the advantage of it is the ability to get a portal gun in Black Mesa.

Yet another good expansion with Half-Life's trademark storytelling, and now constant reaction with an NPC, Blue Shift is a stable expansion with a good graphics update. My only problem was it's length, but since it's Half-Life, it's awesome.

An excellent expansions for a pioneering and enjoyable game, I finally got to play as the marines I so despised. No longer did we have to "Follow the Free Man", I could instead be part of the assault on the doomed facility. And of course, we had CTF in Half-Life. And a portal gun. YES!

The three games in the original Half-Life series were fantastic. While the original Half-Life was the best, having the ability to join the marines I so despised as Gordon Freeman was very enjoyable, and arguable more difficult. Becoming Barney Calhoun was fun too, and while Blue Shift was a bit too short and less content full than the others, it was still fun. To sum up, the Half-Life Anthology is a pack **** game, and it's very well made expansions.

Half-life is an amazing game. It defined storytelling in FPS games (and probably other genres too). It's FPS combat was masterful. The graphics, while outdated in this day and age, were excellent for it's time and are still excellent. It's a great combination of modern and futuristic warfare with militants and aliens. Well done Valve. Well done.
