This game is laughably bad. Anyone who isn't immediately repulsed by the horrifically ugly characters and boring environments must be blind or a mindless consumer. The writing is standard AAA slop written by people who have never read a book. There are games from the 90s which look and play better than Avowed. This is all readily visible when watching 5 minutes of gameplay on the internet. Don't waste your hard-earned money on this. Be better.

Unbelievable masterpiece **** . Contends for the title of "greatest RPG ever made" due to the smooth combat, well-written dialogue, masterfully-designed open-world, beautiful graphics and captivating plot. Games like this are only seen once every 10 years or so due to the exact combination of talented artists, developers, and source material required to make a product like this.

One of the best games ever created. Not much needs to be said, the game transcends genre boundaries and is one of the ONLY successful "space opera" video games every made.

This is the best game ever made. Frankly, it doesn't get any better than this and never will. This game is the perfect distillation of the efforts of a team of passionate and driven developers who understand and love the D&D and Forgotten Realms source materials. The collision of incredible writers, developers, musicians, voice actors and artists who made this game will likely never be achieved again. I keep coming back to this game over and over again after decades of playing other RPGs and finding nothing which ever comes close to this experience. If you purchase it now, try to find the non-"enhanced" version, since Beamdog actually made the game worse in their efforts to "enhance" it by adding "modern" conveniences like unneeded quest markers and new companions which stick out like a sore thumb due to how poorly they were written. They also damaged the audio design by rearranging and deleting audio tracks, damaging the original ambiance of the game.

Unbelievable- the nerve of EA to ship this absolute slop. The "journalists" trying to run cover for this absolute dumpster fire **** must think we are complete idiots. No one in their right mind would pay their hard earned money to be subjected to writing, characters and dialogue of this poor quality. Even the art direction is a complete mess with the enemies looking like silly cartoons and the character models looking waxy and disproportioned. I am not exaggerating when I say this represents a SIGNIFICANT step backward in almost every aspect from Dragon Age Origins which came out almost 2 decades ago now. Save your money for something worth your time. Refunded.

Constant immersion breaking and game-breaking bugs? Stale open-world gameplay that has been done better 30 times in the last 5 years by other publishers and even by Ubisoft itself? Female protag with magic powers of being able to slap fully armored men unconscious with minimal effort? Bland plot, inept writing and high-school level dialogue written by "writers" who don't read books and instead model their writing off MCU movies and the latest HuffPost opinions? Yes, it's an Ubisoft game in 2024.

This game had an interesting premise and all the tools at it's disposal to be great. Instead, it was terrible and no one liked it. This is due to obvious reasons, like the fact that the AI is complete garbage and the game just looks bad. It's not "bad graphics," there are plenty of games from the 90s that look beautiful and don't have modern graphics. Its just objectively unpleasant to look at and to play. Poorly written dialogue as well.

It's actually incredibly good once you get past the poor optimization and occasional jankiness. I would recommend buying this simply because it is incredibly creative with excellent visuals and sound design, as well as detailed RPG mechanics with many possible builds. Is it polished? Is it as good as Elden ring? No. But it's different, and it's creative, and it's higher quality than most AAA games released these days, and it was made by 2 or 3 people.

You could obviously tell this game was going to be bad just from the trailer and dialogue but my god it was even worse than I expected. What a joke. Stop releasing garbage!

Sweet baby Jesus it's so bad. I can't imagine anyone is capable of making something so bad without really trying to. I'm actually baffled by how visually displeasing it is to look at this game. It's like they used all advanced technology developed over the past 20 years and focused on making the ugliest possible game. Its also janky and horribly unfun to play. Why release this? What did we do to deserve this?

Huge disappointment: unfinished game, uninteresting NPCs/plot/writing, devs blatantly put their woke politics in the game. Great job wasting the best cyberpunk IP of all time on a sub-par game. ****

Absolutely excellent game. Can't recommend enough. If you enjoy Sci-fi horror, this is a must-play.

This game is an actual masterpiece. If you like playing video games, you should buy this game. The critic score should be significantly higher.

Similar to how modern mainstream media has devolved into a circlejerk of unlikable journalists discussing topics that no one cares about or asked for, gaming journalism also has also become completely irrelevant to actual gamers. TLOU2's story and characters are absolutely terrible and you will not enjoy this game if you have half a brain. It has good reviews because modern gaming critics have absolutely no idea what gamers actually enjoy or want.

This game is fantastic. Couldn't ask for more, except more content, which is on the way. The writing is incredible, soundtrack is outstanding, animations are well done, environments are beautiful. To me, it's an instant classic, and should be for anyone who loved the old Shadowrun books/roleplaying game and the Baldur's Gate games.
