I like a lot of the changes I’ve made but the biggest problem I’m having is consistently having user vs user games lose connection to the server. I play in an online franchise with 7 other people and we have yet to have a user vs user game that didn’t crash. Really breaks the game. Get it together EA
Just incredible. I didn’t know how they would follow up Hollow Knight but silk song has been better in almost every aspect, in my opinion. The different combat styles, the new enemies, the huge map. It’s all great. I’m loving it so far even if I’m dying a ton
As a purely franchise player who has played the last 5 maddens, I think it is a small step in the right direction. I love team builder but they should let you import your custom team mid season. The music is 100x better than last madden and new commentary crews go a long way. It’s still lacking features, zone defense is still rough, and I’m waiting for the college football passing mechanic to come. My defensive players actually react to my button inputs which is really nice (not a feature I should have to be excited about) and I think running the ball feels the best it has in the last few maddens. All in all I’m having fun but EA should still definitely lose its exclusive license. It’s gone on for far too long
As a madden franchise player I think this game does a lot of things well but I have some concerns. The presentation and game atmosphere is incredible. Offense is fast and the new passing is a step up from Madden for sure. Defense, however, is hard. Players break a lot of tackles and no matter how good my DBs are and what adjustments I make, the receivers will always win on inside breaking routes. This made for lots of scoring and little defense. Even on Heisman difficulty I am getting final scores of 50-45 on 5 minute quarters. The game is great but has some flaws for the style of franchise my friends and I play.
Better than recent years but still is leaving much to be desired. Tackling is much harder and blocking is still trash. But again better than recent years
Personally I think this plays like the best madden in at least 3 years which, in all honesty, is a pretty low bar. That being said, I didn’t get the same level of disappointment I usually get when playing a new madden. I feel like the defensive coverages react better to the ball and actually play the receiver rather than just cover grass. The tackling animations seem much improved as well. In previous maddens, the running back would routinely fall forward for 5-6 yards when getting tackled or a 2nd defender would come in and trigger a new tackle animation. I have not seen these animations present in this madden. All in all I think it’s a good step in the right direction and while it is still far from a perfect game and there are dozens of features that should be added, (features that were available in previous maddens none the less) I think this madden is a decent game this year. This may be subject to change as I play the game more but these are my initial thoughts.
