Another failure. The devs don’t understand why people used to play harvest moon. Game that’s supposed to be heartwarming and wholesome has become a dark reflection of its former self. The devs ignored all the criticisms from the previous entry again and still try to pander crap to children. Do yourself a favor and play the DS version.

At first I didn't understand the point of this. It's a mediocre sleep tracker and has prety minimal gameplay, but sticking with it is really rewarding. It's the core pokemon formula diluted down to periodic busywork giving you 3-7 chances at catching new pokemon every day. It unironicaly does what PLA set out to do and succeded where PLA failed.

Hot take but I actually preferred BoTW. Yes that initial wow factor played a major role in that, but the dungeons actually had puzzles that couldn't be solved with a rocket shield, and boss fights didn't require wierd and or unfun gimmicks to make them challenging. Ultimately building super cool contraptions is only good for solving local problems or traveling short distances, and isn't truly unlimited. Combat also somehow feels worse and was bad to begin with.

Very boring, you honestly do so little that it actually feels like a prototype for Pokemon Sleep. The first game was a 90s novelty and this just exposes that fact.

A worthy successor to the original. The animation looks quite nice and they fixed basic movement which I was not expecting from a TinyBuild game. The balance is a bit slower paced with the upside of no more stat degradation. Defense and strike modifiers no longer share slots with attacks is also a welcome change, but honesty it still feels better to use a full aggro strat.

I finally got around to playing this recently, and I have to say I was quite disappointed. Starting with the positives; for a game made in 2006 by one man it’s impressive both how well it controls, and how deep the puzzle mechanics go. And the fact that this game decided to forgo the life counter when major studios (Nintendo) are still using them in 2023 means it aged quite well. The problems however is its non-committal attitude to collectibles. The fact that the only real gameplay is getting collectibles which can be skipped almost entirely would be ok if the leveled featured any kind of content to beat them. And a game that favors completionists over casuals would be fine if it also didn’t punish them by having unskilled and mind numbing sections that just waste your time. The only group of people who would enjoy this would be someone willing to give up after 99% completion.

What makes a good remake? If someone Knows please contact Marvelous, because none of those elements can be found here. In fact what we do have is the strongest contender for worst game ever made since Life is Strange 2. Wonderful Life has 3 major problems. 1. Source material is so heavily censored and edited it’s unrecognizable: all of the charm and characterization from the original has been stripped away and left with a husk that even diehard HM/SoS fans won’t recognize. 2. Gameplay hasn’t been updated and in fact feels worse than the original: This is the exact opposite of what a good remake is supposed to do. A good remake is supposed to make it recapture the feeling of playing the original whilst lowering the barrier to entry old games often have. This game feels like it released the same day as the original with how it plays, not released in 2023. 3. Rampant political extremism: This has been an issue with every SoS remake, but it’s pushed to the limit here since you still have a family no matter how bad your life decisions are. This game being marketed towards children is both disgusting and a violation of FCC regulations. Nintendo should be ashamed they let this drivel into their store. TL;DR while the worst game ever made will always be hotly debated, this game is objectively the most insulting game ever made.

An incredible story that had me at every twist and turn. One of the best written villains in gaming (until the end) and a environment oozing with charm. Only reason it’s a 9 instead of a ten is Alter Ego and his human counterpart and the unnecessary swearing was a constant immersion breaker as it was just the worst.

If you want a great story in the Pokémon world, play anything else If you want rewarding gameplay and a fun loop, play anything else If you are a completionist, play anything else If you are competitively focused there’s no multiplayer, if you’re a solo player it’s still the worst main series game as there’s nothing to do beyond catching 50 of each Pokémon. A total waste of time and resources that tried to appeal to nobody and succeeded.

The hate in this game feels completely random and unwarranted. Every criticism aside from a lack of a battle frontier is an example of moving the goalposts. Excepts for a few overworld human models this is the best looking game not just in the franchise but on the Switch itself. This is also objectively the hardest game in the franchise as well. Anyone saying otherwise didn’t play the game. (Level 100 on the champion rematch) The underground is also one of the best side features ever added. It’s gen 4 but better, the lack of QoL **** for competitive and made it feel like a community never gathered around the game, but it took me a year to beat the battle tower. Did I mention how hard this game is?

Hormse! The best DLC ever made (so far), the max raid dungeon is the closest we’re ever getting to the return of rental battles and it doubles as the most enjoyable way to shiny hunt. Even if you aren’t sold on the isle of armor this alone is worth the entry and gives SwSh a reason to come back to even as a solo player.

You get a cool bear, I guess? Honestly for a first DLC attempt it’s fine, but the fact they knew we wanted an official monotype format but left it single player only and didn’t heal your team between battles is a level of stupid I cannot comprehend.

If you’re a competitive focused player than this is the Pokémon game for you. All of the negativity only matters if you choose never to play online, which is where 99% of the content is. The dex cuts brought a breath of fresh air into the series and removed so much needless bloat. Still one of the best looking 3D games in the series. Dynamax is a fantastic mechanic that combines the best of both Megas and Z moves and is more than the sum of its parts. Only reason for a 9 instead of a 10 is quite frankly this is the worst starter trio in the series and there is little to go back to after the player base moves on. The Crown Tundra greatly alleviates this but that will revive its own score.

The best modern Pokémon game, and the standard by which causal open world games will be judged. One of the strongest assortment of new Pokémon, Garganacl and Lokix are some of my new favorites. The story and characters were actually really well written and after the joke that was Leon we actually have a competent and believable champion who commands respect. The ability to fight an gym in any order actually means that for the first time in over 15 years the game has some actually challenging moments. (Level scaling would run this TPCi please don’t add it) Honestly the only negatives are the auto trainer battles are so mindless they might as well not exist, and so many Pokémon new and old feel so power crept it’s almost comical. E.g. why are both convergent species worse than their labor original? Why was Tinkaton given almost no attack and one of the worst signature moves ever? Why is Iron Jugulis weaker than Hydreigon? The fact that Terastallizstion is the only battle gimmick to be agreed upon to be good, is really impressive, and it truly is a lot of fun to use even if staying the same type is the right call 90% of the time.
