Pros 72 Playable Characters Auto Battle Feature Improvement of 16 Bit Sprite Animations, really expressive Sprinting now not being locked behind a Rune like in the first game Even Cooler Rune Magic Attacks and Unite Magic Attacks Being able to move your save data from the first game is cool (even though I wasn’t able to) Different Endings are executed very well and are quite emotionally good Great Villain Luca Blight Cons Encounter Rate (7/10) High Second Half of the game (story wise imo) fell short after which is after Luca Blight’s death World Map Sprinting still locked behind a Rune The Dialogue Options during Dual Fights did not necessarily match what they there going to do next, dual fights also don’t last long enough to leave a memorable impacting experience or methodical challenge thought and lastly the amount of dialogue for each category (10 for each 30 in total) is not utilize for since duals only last about a couple (1 to have 4 strikes on you or your opponent) not many duals take place in the overall game leaving unheard dialogue extremely high and a complete waste Nitpicks Certain characters join your cause and the game wouldn’t even notify you that they’ve join Dialogue Options for the main character are lazy too many options consist of “.....” or “Forget about it” to the point where it’s hard to get a grasp of who the main character is. This was not an issue in Suikoden 1. If they were trying to portray the main character as a projection of the player then this can debatable but even if they did decide to take that route, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s way too consistent that the dialogue. Although there is a tablet where you can see all of the Stars of Destiny you have recruited there is no total number telling you how many you have recruited so far basically forcing you to manually count all of them if you want to know how much you have recruited at that given moment. Riou and Jowy’s ambitions were way too similar to the point where (for me) it’s hard to understand why they couldn’t come to a non-violent conclusion seeing as though they were best friends, it felt force to have the Jowy character become the antagonist for the sake of having a conflicting drama force conclusion of some kind.

Pros + Over 90 Playable Mobile suits + Addicting competitive online play + Great nostalgic music + Share Play Cons - The way you block is pressing down and then up on the analog or d-pad and it kinda is tough to pull off in the heat of battle. Espcially since the Vita version of this series had it set to one button - Lack of customization for online lobbies, no ability to increase the total cost, modify the room from one mode to the next or ban certain mobile suits from being used in your lobby (only cost tiers can be banned) - Badai Namco not allowing the Share Button for Broadcast and Recording - The removal of many popular Gundams like Mobile FIghter G, Endless Walts and 00 Second Season when we all know they'll just bring them back as DLC - Not option to turn off button combinations, if an attack is circle I don't need square and triangle being pressed at the same time doing a move that equals the circle button's move this can mess up combos and even make you activate your Ex Burst when you didn't want to. I know it's for the arcade sticks but the Gamepad players shouldn't have to suffer.
