I love this game, between it's different paths, multitude of interesting characters, the private action system, the side content that only expands the game for fans of it, the combat system and some of the visuals of attacks, the story, and how vast it feels sets this up as potentially my all time favorite game. The only negatives I can actively think of is that being a PS1 game, it's a bit outdated for new players, and although solid music, not as memorable as a few other PS1 competitors.

Despite it's pleasing visuals recalling Final Fantasy Tactics, having a lot of voice overs, and a relatively interesting combat system, the game itself is a nightmare of inconveniences and hassles starting with an incorrigible scam system for unlocking characters - suggesting hundreds of dollars be dropped to get a character on average, and then months of grinding or more money to empower them to be usable outside of the simplest modes. Also the crafting system? YIKES.

The game should range from 4 to 7 (out of 10) depending on what you are looking for. If only interested in graphics, this will be very high up there, as the motion capture, environments and visuals are all well deserving of praise. If you want engaging gameplay, maybe 5 or 6. If you want a sequel to the character driven predecessor, you are probably better off looking elsewhere. The overuse of flashbacks and shock factors to end acts are bad enough for even 10/10 reviews to mention in disdain.
