I am stunned, how the well known sites and reviewers are hyping this game.
For me it plays like a 10$ game, unpolished and uninspired. Graphics are nice, but that is all.
Pro:
- graphics
Cons:
- sloppy programmed acting of the characters
- uninspired story
- no reason to play it, basically. Predecessors (Bajonetta, Nier Automata) are way better
It feels like the PS3 Version in the beginning. Many bugs, such as items floating in the air, being able to run only in 3rd person view, being unable to ****. I was hoping, that the bugfixes for PS3 and PC would have any influence on the Switch Version, but it looks to me, that the developers startet from scratch. When I first got Skyrim for Ps3, it was so unplayable, that I put it away for almost a year, until the worst issues had been patched. I am that close to do the same with the Switch version. Looking on an open pleateau gives you eye cancer, because you almost exclusively see low-res vegetation textures symetrically plastering the ground. Right now, I would suggest to play the PC Version, that way you get best graphic quality, performance, Mod support, and least amount of bugs. Skyrim on my Macbook Air is way more fun to play, and that says a lot, cause that thing is no game-graphic beast at all. I am disapointed. For being a full-priced game for 60 bucks, it is a slap in the face.
I really like the Idea to have a portable tabletop Chess with me, that has only the size of the Switch. Plus, the graphics are nice too, you can adjust viewing angles and whatnot. But you also HAVE to, because by default, they almost never show the board sufficiently (for my taste). The controls are not adjustable, that means you have to tip the control stick or the button EVERY time you want to move the cursor. It gets annoying if you want to cross the whole board. At the moment, there is no dlc available, but it looks like there will be in the future (option available in menue). However i would prefer to see more configuration options, rather than more design choices for the pieces and the board. I always use the standard board an pieces, because I sometimes have a hard time figuring out which piece is what, and that annoys me a lot. So, some more options, some dlc, and Chess Ultra could make it to a 8....
