An OK port **** series, far better than the Jak port. There's a bit of slowdown here and there, but it's still fun slashing your way through the gods.

In my opinion, Sunset Overdrive is a good game and can be fun if you are looking to sit back and have a bit of fun for a while, but those looking for more depth may be disappointed. The game can be repetitive at times but can also be mindlessly fun, which is welcome if your in the mood.

I enjoyed the thought of a return to the series routs, in a way, with the new characters and story. The performance and bugs however soiled the experience.

The game is a straight up port from DS. It looks bad and runs bad. There is not free roam. I don't understand why developers complain that the Vita isn't selling well enough to warrant making decent ports if they are the reason people aren't buying it! Isn't this the same engine as the PSP version as well? It's not the worst port, but until WB/ Lego put in effort into the Vita version I will keep re-posting this review for all Lego games on Vita. Because it's still applicable.

Borderlands 21

This and the Jak collection are the sum of all that's wrong with the Vita. It seems like just because it's on the Vita it gets given a free pass in terms of performance. I for one didn't pay AU$200 to play 2 year old slideshows! The worst part is the Sony and the developer promised sloid 28-33FPS performance! What a joke. Your lucky if it's running at 22FPS. The game is very good looking. I would debate that the porting was perhaps too straight forward. They should have put in a lot more work to take out some objects in the game world perhaps. Why do I say the game should look worse? Simple: IT DOES NOT RUN. In Sanctuary you can look forward to playing at 10FPS. Go check ****, they did a digital foundry, I'm not even joking! They game has no shadows, not even baked ones, yet the textures are quite high resolution!? (I've meddled with Vita development so I assume that the textures are what killed performance because that's always what makes my little games run bad.) In a gun fight the game is NOT playable, in fact it literally makes me nauseous. On a side note, disabling hud bob seems to help, but very, very little. I fell so bad for anyone who buys a Vita that is bundled with this (Or Assassins Creed for that matter, like I did.) I hope that if you do you don't let this game ruin your view of the Vita. I don't think making this game the flagship title is doing wonders for the Vita's reputation. It just doesn't look like Sony care at all any more. It seems like just because it's on the Vita it gets given a free pass in terms of performance. I for one didn't pay AU$200 to play 2 year old slideshows!

Hyperdimension Neptunia PP: Producing Perfection6
Jul 5, 2014
The game is good, but very short. I've finished the story 2 times in one day already. At least the game seems to run well, but with a game like this it can sometimes be hard to tell. Besides, I suppose the PS3 games didn't run perfectly either. That said if you are a fan of the series, you will probably like the game. It's a pity though that the game is more expensive than most Vita games and much shorter than you would typically expect of a Neptunia game.

Sly Cooper Collection10
Jul 5, 2014
Finally the Vita gets a good port of a classic collection! Apart from Sly1 and the horribly compressed cut scenes, the games are Native resolution and run well. The audio is not as compressed as other Vita games either and the games control so well on the Vita that you would think they were originally made with the device in mind. As with the excellent port of the latest Sly game (Thieves in time) on the Vita, these are fantastic. In my mind this is the only HD collection that is worth buying on the Vita at this point in time.

Ratchet & Clank Collection5
Jul 5, 2014
If you don't want to read my whole review at least read this: The game is not native resolution. It's blurry, pixelated and has slowdown and glitches. There is no cross save with PS3 even though the trophies are shared between the Vita and PS3. The PS3 version on PSN is cheaper, and comes with the Vita version for free. The Vita is full of bad ports. After the team that did this brought us the infamously bad Jak collection I was not expecting much. While this collection is definitely better than the Jak one, it's no where near as good as the Sly collection (Which, apart from Sly 1, was actually native resolution and runs quite well, even if the cut scenes are very compressed.) This collection has reasonably uncompressed cut scenes in comparison. On the other hand, the graphics are about on par with the PS2 version, with some graphicle glitches and some missing effects. The game is not native resolution and so looks quite blurry and pixelated. If I wanted to play the game in a lower resolution I would whip out my PS2. The on the go argument can only get you so far, especially if it leads to compromises to classic titles. As well as all that, it only runs at 30FPS with drops and slowdown, creating a slow motion like effect, similar to what happens if you play the HD collection in 3D on the PS3. It also crashed a few times in my play through. Do not believe some of the naive Vita owners (Most aren't, but some...) when they say it runs fine. Most of them believe Assassins Creed runs fine on the Vita, even though it runs at 18FPS, and also is blurry, pixelated and glitchy. It was only until the HD release of Assassins Creed that people called it out for being bad. In all, it's not the worst collection or port on the Vita, but as with all others (Except, debatably, the aforementioned Sly collection) the Vita is not the best place to experience them, especially because it is cheaper to buy the PS3 version on PSN, and the you get the Vita one free as well, which makes it worth while (Except of course there is no cross save even though the trophies are shared between the Vita and PS3!) It's a 5 for me because it is not the worst, but I wish Sony would stop shoving inferior ports onto the Vita. This, Jak, GoW and Borderlands 2 puts Sony and the Vita to shame, especially the classic exclusives. You would think Sony would give a damn.

inFamous: Second Son9
Mar 21, 2014
After seeing some mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. On the other hand I knew that a lot of people didn't like the first three games and that there would be trolls knocking it as people do exclusives these days. As other reviews have said, if you liked the others, you will most likely like this one. The powers offer a nice change up to the game play and makes the experience fresh and precise. Deslin is far more likable than I thought he would be and the story is quite good too. I have to say that the only down side is that the city, being based off of a real city, just is not as good as Empire City. Which, in all honesty isn't too bad seeing as in my opinion, neither was New Marais and again, in my opinion **** Punches Seattle is gorgeous and better than New Marais was. So to recap: If you were a fan, you will like it! So that's great news for people like me. The graphics are great, performance is good. I'm giving this a 9 because I feel that it deserves in between a 8/9 as a fan. It's better than Infamous 2 but still no infamous 1 (Although the game play is the best the series has offered.) I will not stoop to giving it a 10 just to fight off the trolls scoring the game low.

Battlefield 40
Jan 28, 2014
The game is ok. Runs at 45-60fps at 900p (Which looks better in motion than I thought it would admittedly.) but is still not the most visually impressive game on the PS4 by any means. The real let down of this game is, every time you try the single player the save WILL be deleted when you try to resume the game. A pity because what I have played so far was very entertaining. The game was released unfixed. I waited until the game had been patched to buy it (I bought it in the middle of Jan 14) and there are still major issues. The single player is not worth trying at this point because you will loose the save. The multi-player is riddled with glitches. You know all those times Battlefield 3 'kinda' glitched occasionally.... well, this one does that all the time (BTW I have the pc version of Battlefield 3). There is constant rubber banding (Even with good ping, and strangely enough, I even seem to encounter it in single player at times???) and you will normally not hit the people you are shooting at. I don't mean you'll miss, I mean that you will hit them, but nothing will happen. The collision boundaries on objects are set up so poor you often get stuck in arbitrary places, for instance you will get stuck on rubble when crawling (Something that happened occasionally in BF3.) This game is a joke, even after several patches it's still not much more playable than the broken beta they released last year. Not to mention that for now there is only 10vs10 team death match! I like conquest, but sometimes a big TDM hits the spot and I feel cheated as EA were clearly saying that the ps4 and X one had PC 'parity' in terms of player count. I do not appreciate paying a premium for an unfinished game!

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation4

This game has a boring story that is hidden away from you, poor voice acting, bad sound effects, bad visuals and performance (It barley runs over 18fps), bugs are some of the issues this game faces. These developers were so lazy that they didn't even include a sound effect for the whip, the only new weapon type in the game. I would be ok with all of this if it weren't for the tedious sound track, forced play as the lady persona missions and forced (And awful) puzzle mini games. The more I want to like this game the less I do. This game was a lazy attempt at bringing the franchise to Vita. I get the feeling that they were just trying to make a mobile engine so that they can port the game to iphone if it works out.

Killzone: Mercenary10
Sep 10, 2013
I finished it today on the train. In my opinion this game is on the same sort of level as games like Infamous: Festival of Blood or Ratchet Quest for Booty. It is a bite sized version of it's bigger brothers and I feel that if this game were to come to PS3 it would be well received as that. Killzone Mercenary is the exact thing that I was looking for from the vita: A bite sized version of a console game, not a 'mobile' game. The only negative I have is waiting for the multiplayer patch that the developers have promised, because I do get kicked. All in all this is an amazing Vita game. The graphics are better than any other, and even the audio is great. (Something that Vita games seem to struggle with) The story is good for a shooter with some good plot twists and some like-able and hate-able characters. Game play feels like Killzone and it is very interesting to get upgrade points for your multiplayer load out from single player. Even when there is no internet I can grind away to my next unlock.

I created an account here just to say this. This game is slow. Probably a console port. The matchmaking ****. I had to wait for ever for a match, just to get disconnected. Its also good to note that their website is terrible to use, which is bad cause you have to go there to verify your account. This is a bad game. Even for free2play. I had hoped it would be good.. and it looks ok, graphically. Everything else is a load of turd though.
