The only reason i can see someone getting this is if you never played the original MVC3. This game is blatantly DLC that Capcom has decided to put a massive price tag on and instead of giving us the ability to decide what characters we want if we want to try any of those new characters we must spend a massive amount of money for what? 12 new characters minor fixes to matchmaking and spectator mode? All of these should have been DLC. This game is literally the same as its non "ultimate" version with very minor tweaks and updates.
To me the game feels as though they repackaged Dead Rising 2. All they did was add 3 new enemies, a different main character, a different mode, and a different storyline and abilities. While the different mode and storyline are a good thing the games downfall would have to be that for a sequel/What-if? it fell short. What i had expected was a completly new storyline. I did expect Frank to solve the outbreak but it seemed as though it more or less was just a minorly changed version of the original Dead Rising 2's storyline. My main problem with this game is that there were too many minor changes and not enough major changes. For a sequel i would have expected better than 3 different pyschopaths, different moves, and a new zone with a different character. While these do bring down the game a bit the storyline did at points seem to copy a bit of Dead Rising 2's yet also have some of its own. I also did like the camera system added to it this way it made bosses a bit more interesting since you would want them to last longer to gain good photos to earn more PP. All in all, If your knew to the series i would reccomend this one as it contains some new features and another area for exploration, and so you can see the game from a different person's point of view.
I must say i had high hopes for this game. Being knew to the DS series i had decided to take the oldest one i could find on shelves which (unfortunately) was Dead Space 2. While i prefer to always try and start with the first of a series i did some research and found out it is supposedly a great way to start off this series if your new. When i first started this game it seemed okay but the enemies quickly got old. The jump scares were a bit startling at the beginning but more or less towards the half-way point they mainly were expected. The character of Isaac felt rather generic to me. He seemed to me just a regular horror movie person who is wanted by basically everyone because there is something special about them. The guns were very unique but i feel a major downfall was its multiplayer. While i never had high hopes for a horror genre to go good with multiplayer i at least expected something better than, play a match, try to kill endless waves of necromorphs who usually try to kill you as you spawn, get killed, try again, repeat. It seems as though they just wanted to put in a multiplayer so as people wouldn't complain about there not being one. The enemies are both unique and interesting but towards the end there were barely any new ones and just harder versions of the older version's.
With this title i feel as though it did good on almost all of what it tried to bring to you, but what it didnt get across well just brought it down a lot. One major thing that i loved and had a very big problem with was the chaos/quest feature. The game glorifies its nonsensical explosions and allows players who just like to destroy stuff the free will to do so. However i feel this is also its major downfall. I mainly play games for the story and what i didn't like about this was that it made destroying things mandatory to both get item's and gain quests. This feature honestly was good at first since it gave reason to blowing everything up, but eventually it makes just blowing things up seem very repetitive. For example to do basically anything related to its storyline you must first blow up many things. The game tried to make you feel like a badass trying to help the populace but if the blowing up military objects to gain quests and money wasn't mandatory then this game would be easily deserving of a ten.
