Nice idea but badly executed. After not even playing for one hour I think if seen the whole game. You run around trying to find clues which seem to be randomly placed around the city. You talk to npcs to add them to your list of suspects and to get a pointer to a location where you can find more clues. Suspects have a faction, gender, job,... Clues help you find the killer by narrowing each attribute down. For example: One clue might tell you it is either a Dancer or a Tailor, another clue might say either Police or Mobster.... you get the idea. The cases don't have a story or require logical thinking, A lot of times it is just a matter of being in the right place at the right time. There is also no case specific scenery e.g. crime scenes. You just go to the same static places and click investigate and hope to find a clue there. Their "Permanent choices" selling point is also kind of joke considering that each case takes only around 10 mins and then you land back on the main menu and the city resets.

Normally, I'm not so much into puzzle games but this one was a great experience. It really gets everything right: graphics, ambiance, story, difficulty and atmosphere. The puzzles themselves are logical and just challenging enough. The game's aesthetics are quite pleasing as well. It is not a long game, took me around 2-3 h to finish it but it is very satisfying to work through. The only downside is its lack of replayability and its short length.

Don't get your hopes up, it is not a new Homeworld! What you will get is a space themed RTS with unit building, light resource management (think CoH) and the ability to upgrade your mothership only between missions. The Campaign is a two edged sword, very difficult with seemingly impossible situations but also very rewarding if you manage to work your way through. The biggest disappointment for me was the lack of a skirmish mode. Well there is a menu button which is called "Skirmish" but behind that are just 3 maps with missions attached to it, like a horde mode for example. Pros: +nice graphics +nice sound +difficult campaign +small but interesting map design Cons: -no skirmish mode -not very innovative/deep mechanics -pathfinding is a bit edgy

It is not really a game, it is an interactive story with barely any interaction at all, but I really enjoyed it. A very interesting story (better than the movie) and a nicely crafted atmosphere.

Well I'm sorry but this isn't a game. You basically run around trying to find the story of the game with a narrator helping you do so. The point of it is to show you the limitations of gaming, maybe even of your life but in all honesty, ppl who think about "life" or "games" know that already and don't need this software. So, if you want a real game a piece of entertainment then avoid this title but if you want to experience what game design is all about then feel free to buy this and run around in circles for an hour.

Nice theme but poorly executed. Here is a quote from a wiki about the games most important mechanic the review score of your game: "... Good quality game DOES NOT MEAN good reviews. In this game, you compete EXCLUSIVELY against your own previous high score ....Therefore, in order to get good a review score, you need to perform slightly better than your previous high score....." Which means the worst thing you could do is making the most awesome game ever because you will have a hard time beating yourself afterwards. Which makes the game pointless.

It is a good game to get into the 4x genre. It has nice artwork, streamlined gui and got lots of free dlcs. It isn't as complex as SOTS2 or similar games but that's not always a bad thing isn't it ^^

Awesome Game, beautiful artwork and game design but holy crap the controls are just rock bottom. It would be a 9 out of 10 if it wasn't for the bad controls.

A solid expansion but not worth 40€, the campaign is really well done and the new units add more depth to the base game but that's it. Try to get it for 30€ or less

I got it for around 70€ (thx to the strong euro) including all expansions but still too expansive if you ask me. It is a solid 4x game with a strong focus on the big picture, means more macro.management and less micro. (for example you can't build on planets). You can also let the AI take over any task you want. The game features 11 races and a galaxy with up to 50.000 planets which is amazing. You can design your own ships (simpler than in Sots) and choose its look based on a list of all available ships. Another big plus is its exploration part. You can discover lots of hidden sites which give you bonuses and extras, like ancient capital ships that can be recovered. You can also gather bits and pieces which have an impact on your gameplay. About its complexity: Not as hard as Sword of the Stars but deeper than Endless Space or Sins of a Solar Empire. It is worth its price but only if you are a fan of the 4x genre.

A fascinating survival/exploration game made by only 2 ppl. Very beautiful graphics with a lot of love put into it. You are playing a scientist (first person view) who suffers from the plague and is looking for a cure on an empty island. Well empty except of some sort of beast that hunts you. Most of the time you are exploring the island, search for the right formula for your medicine, collect flowers and do some research on the, Every now and then you will encounter the beast, you can't fight it you can only run or hide which makes a great atmosphere. A bit similar to Amnesia but not that stressful

I'm a big fan of the Civ series but this one is the first civ game that bored me after only a couple of hours. Tons of dlc but no innovation, odd new combat mechanics (1 unit per hex but the maps are too small), a lot of missing features from the old games, less management,.... Feels like a "Civ Light" for newcomers to the genre

This game is really great and deserves its high ratings. Excellent story, good graphics and a solid survival part. Well at least in the first third of the game then you turn into a one man army which is biggest downside of the game and takes away a lot of the thrill you have in the beginning but besides it is a must have.

Well it is surprisingly fun once you've learned the rules and there is a ton of it. The game is diced based so expect a lot of frustrating moments when your strategy doesn't pay off because of a row of bad rolls but in the end winning is really rewarding.

First of all let me state this: It is one of the best MMOs out there and you can find lots of reviews that will tell you all the reasons why it deserves a high rating, but here are the reasons why I didn't really like it. 1. There is no traditional leveling: Each weapons uses another skill set but you can unlock all of them really quickly in under 30 mins. What's left to unlock are just skills that I would consider minor and mostly not worth playing for. Leveling up is one of the biggest motivational points for me in such a game and GW2 doesn't offer enough for me to keep me interested 2. If there is no real leveling system the game needs something else to keep you involved like the story and here lays the next problem. The emotional arc of your character concludes after the second arc is finished. From that point onward you are, just a tag-along. The story is affecting other people, and you're just along for the ride. A good part of this is due to the segmented nature of the quests 3. Crafting: You need to level up your crafting skills in order to be able to craft valuable gear and that's when crafting becomes an exercise because creating one level 10 recipe does not increase your level to 11 as it would appear. No, you get experience toward level 11, meaning that the problem of leveling up by making useless items is exacerbated.

I love it, a perfect mix between survival and fighting. Not only do you have to fight your way down through 30 floors/lvls, scavenge for food, weapons and ammo, you can also level up your skills to unlock doors and repair crafting benches. Yes, there is also crafting and upgrading. Even on "normal" it is really challenging but never unfair, (didn't make it past lvl10 yet after 6 hours of playing and dying.)

My gf bought it, but wasn't at home the whole day so I had the pleasure to try it out so here are my impressions: 1. Pricing: It looks like a typical EA cash grab. The game isn't feature complete (subways?) so expect a lot of expensive but low value DLCs coming our way. I wouldn't buy it until they release a discounted "Gold" version including most of the upcoming extras. 2. Always-On-DRM: It took ages until I was able to log in. This is just unacceptable and shows the flaws of this kind of DRM. Also keep in mind that EA will shutdown the servers once the game doesn't make enough profit, or when a newer version gets released. 3. Look and Feel: It looks really nice and watching the little sims doing their thing is amazing. It really feels like a living and breathing city. 4. The building part: The maps are just too small. Takes you around 1-2h to fill up the entire square and then you can either refine the city or move on to another one so don't expect to spend days or even weeks on a single city. If you have several cities in a region then they will work together but it is just not the same. Overall some interesting new ideas, a nice look and feel but a lack in its core city-building mechanic.

DON'T BUY IT!!!!! This game was made in not time to jump on the DayZ/Walking Dead bandwagon and released too early to cash in on the Christmas sales. The game itself is unbalanced, the textures and animations are outdated. Loads of bugs! The game world feels empty, the maps are small but getting from A to B takes ages because of low running speed. The Ingame-Shop is more of pay to win model. (you can buy ammo) .
