I adore this game. It's a fast paced, no bs arcade style fighting game. The cutscenes are on average like 7 seconds long and the fighting environments are unique and full of objects and things to do. I am not always a fighting game guy, but man this game is so much fun.

This is one of my favorite games of all time and one of the most nostalgic ones for me, however i'm able to understand it's faults- the main two being a bit of convoluted missions and some issues with the camera. Some of the bosses are very odd and arent very logical in the way you're supposed to beat them. Same with some of the missions. The camera can also whip around for no reason when you don't want it to. But damn. For 2002, a pseudo-open-world platformer like this was an insane feat. And i'd definitely consider it one of the best on the ps2. It's short and sweet but really engaging and there's a decent amount to do. Apparently according to the developers there was supposed to be an additional world cut due to time constraints. That would have been cool to see for sure. Overall a must play on the ps2 and very nostalgic. 4/5.

This is it. The summit of 2D sonic games. Every level feels like the best parts of Sonic 3+Knuckles and none of the mild faults. The soundtrack is superb and the game is absolutely stellar. A must play for anyone even remotely into sonic or gaming as a whole honestly.

I know I'm about 20 years late to review this, but I was always fascinated by this game from the first time I saw it in the PlayStation Underground demo disc demos. The graphics, both then and still now, are impressive. The ingenuity with all of the transitions is incredible. Wonderfully made game, Doesn't get enough credit in people's favorites lists. The two minor nitpicks I have are that -the turning is pretty touchy and -the fov isn't great if you want to do multiplayer. Other than that, it's great.
