An ok-ish game brought down by getting placed in the wrong franchise. People usually play SH for hard hitting horror that strikes at the player mentally, the mythology/world, and for the kind of subtle grounded writing that you expect more from films and literature than video games. Not to mention the Lynch, Barker, Stephen King, and Kirosawa vibes. SH ƒ might as well be Nior or Persona 4. Lets be real, what makes this a SH game? What makes this more SH than The Medium, Total Chaos, Layers of Fear, or Resident Evil 8? The name. That's it. As a long time fan, there are some cool ideas and designs in ƒ but this style and genre of game isn't my cup of tea, I especially hated the combat, and it objectively isn't SH as far as DNA is concerned. And no, SH isn't about overcoming mental illness and facing down your guilt in fog. That is a blatant misreading of SH 2. Get it together, people.
