(ENG) I found it an intriguing series within Marvel, its not a sprawling story nor does it try to be the most explosive event in the MCU, but rather something more contained and centered on Simon Williams, an actor with powers who's trying to make his way in Hollywood while keeping them hidden. That premise is one of its greatest strengths, because it sets the show apart from what Marvel usually does, instead of constantly relying on epic scale, the series favors a focus on the entertainment industry, personal ambition, and comedy with a dramatic edge, plus the relationship between Simon and Trevor, which gives it plenty of personality. Still, precisely because its a smaller, different kind of show, it can sometimes feel like it lacks force or weight in certain moments, especially for viewers expecting something more intense, ambitious, or tied to Marvel's spectacle. The very simplicity that makes it special can also work against it, since some stretches feel a little too light and dont always leave as strong an impression as they should. Even so, I think its value lies in its attempt to step outside the mold, it may not be Marvel's most impactful series, but its one with its own voice._____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________(ESP) Me pareció una serie curiosa dentro de Marvel, no es una historia gigantesca ni busca ser el evento más explosivo del MCU, sino algo más contenido y centrado en Simon Williams, un actor con poderes que intenta abrirse paso en Hollywood mientras los oculta, justamente ahí esta una de sus mayores virtudes, porque esa premisa la vuelve diferente a lo que nos tiene acostumbrados Marvel, en vez de apoyarse todo el tiempo en escala épica, la serie apuesta por un enfoque más de industria del entretenimiento, ambición personal y comedia con toque dramático, además de la relación entre Simon y Trevor, que le da bastante personalidad, aun así, precisamente por ser una serie más pequeña y distinta, también puede dar la sensación de que le falta más fuerza o más peso en ciertos momentos, sobre todo para quien espere algo más intenso, más ambicioso o más conectado al espectáculo de Marvel, esa simplicidad que la hace especial también puede jugarle en contra, porque algunos tramos se sienten ligeros de más y no siempre dejan una impresión tan potente como deberían, pero incluso con eso, creo que su valor esta en que si intenta salirse un poco del molde, no será la serie más impactante de Marvel, pero si una con voz propia.
(ENG) It’s an interesting series, though with clear ups and downs that place it somewhere in the middle. On the positive side, it features a carefully crafted setting-the aesthetics, the locations, and the way it portrays family legacy and the tradition behind the Guinness brand create a compelling and distinctive atmosphere. The story also manages to engage at several points, especially when it focuses on power struggles, inheritance, and internal tensions among the characters. However, I also noticed that at times the plot loses momentum. Some episodes fall flat, and certain subplots lack impact, which slows the overall pace. Additionally, while the cast works well, not all characters reach the same level of depth-some remain mere companions without much development. Even with these flaws, the series maintains a solid level of interest and offers worthwhile moments, especially if you’re drawn to family dramas and power dynamics framed within a strong historical and cultural context. It’s a competent production, with style and visual strength, but it could shine much brighter if it refined its storytelling and gave more balanced attention to all its characters. __________________________________________________________ (ESP) Es una serie interesante, aunque con altibajos claros que la dejan en un punto intermedio, lo positivo es que tiene una ambientación muy cuidada, la estética, los escenarios y la forma en la que retrata el legado familiar y la tradición detrás de la marca Guinness generan un entorno atractivo y con personalidad, la historia también consigue enganchar en varios momentos, especialmente cuando se enfoca en los conflictos de poder, la herencia y las tensiones internas entre los personajes, sin embargo, también noté que en ocasiones la trama pierde fuerza, algunos episodios sus y ciertas subtramas no tienen el mismo impacto, lo que baja el ritmo general, a esto se suma que, aunque el elenco funciona bien, no todos los personajes alcanzan la misma profundidad, quedando algunos como meros acompañantes sin demasiado desarrollo, aun con esos detalles, la serie mantiene un buen nivel de interés y ofrece momentos que valen la pena, sobre todo si te atraen las historias de drama familiar y lucha por el poder enmarcadas en un contexto histórico y cultural fuerte. Es una producción con estilo y solidez visual, pero que podría brillar mucho más si puliera su narrativa y diera mayor equilibrio a todos sus personajes.

I liked how it manages to maintain an unsettling atmosphere without losing the lightness typical of animation. Each episode has the feel of a strange little tale that draws you in, and the character and setting designs effectively reinforce the sense of being in a hotel where the paranormal is part of the daily routine. I also appreciate that the episodes don’t feel repetitive-each one brings something new, whether it’s a peculiar ghost, an absurd situation, or an unexpected twist. The animation more than delivers, with a style that, while not highly detailed, fits the tone of the series perfectly. That said, it’s not flawless. At times, the pacing becomes uneven, with weaker episodes that don’t have the same impact as the stronger ones. Some secondary characters are underdeveloped, serving more as gags than contributing meaningful narrative weight. Still, it works-it’s fun, different, and knows how to keep your attention with a mix of oddity and charm. It’s a recommended watch for those who enjoy animation with supernatural elements and eccentric humor. Me gusto cómo logra mantener una atmósfera inquietante sin perder la ligereza propia de la animación, cada episodio tiene ese aire de cuento extraño que engancha, y los diseños de los personajes y escenarios refuerzan bien la sensación de estar en un hotel donde lo paranormal es parte de la rutina, también destaco que los capítulos no se sienten repetitivos, cada uno propone algo nuevo, ya sea un fantasma peculiar, una situación absurda o un giro inesperado, la animación cumple de sobra, con un estilo que, aunque no es el más detallado, encaja perfectamente con el tono de la serie, sin embargo, no todo es perfecto, a ratos el ritmo se vuelve irregular, con episodios más flojos que no tienen el mismo impacto que los mejores, y algunos personajes secundarios quedan poco desarrollados limitados más al gag que a aportar peso narrativo, aun así funciona bien, es divertida, diferente y sabe mantener el interés con una mezcla de rareza y simpatía. Es una serie recomendable para quienes disfrutan de la animación con tintes sobrenaturales y un humor excéntrico, que sin ser una obra maestra, logra ser lo suficientemente atractiva como para destacar dentro de su género.

From its very first episodes, the series proves it doesn’t need flashy technical feats or spectacular effects to hook the audience-its strength lies in the writing, narrative pacing, and its ability to tell stories with emotional weight, humor, or social critique. Each episode feels like a capsule that delivers something clear and impactful, and that’s no easy feat. What I appreciated most is that, although the stories are somewhat different, there’s a stylistic coherence and narrative sensitivity that ties them all together. They feel human, accessible, and in many cases, surprisingly deep. The animation isn’t highly detailed, but it suits the tone of each story and shifts depending on what’s being conveyed. Plus, the short format leaves no room for filler-every second counts. Even so, for now I give it a 9 and not a 10, because while the overall quality is high, its consistency depends on what comes next. If future seasons maintain this level, it could easily climb in my rating-but it’s also possible it might lose momentum if it doesn’t live up to this first installment. For now, I see it as one of the most compelling animated offerings Netflix has released lately: smart, emotional, and fun. Cada episodio es casi una cápsula que transmite algo claro y contundente, y eso no es fácil de lograr. Lo que más me gustó es que, aunque son historias un tanto diferentes, hay una coherencia estilística y una sensibilidad narrativa que las conecta todas, se sienten humanas, accesibles y en muchos casos sorprendentemente profundas. La animación no es muy detallada, pero funciona con el tono de cada historia, y varía según lo que se quiere transmitir, además, el formato breve hace que no haya espacio para el relleno, cada segundo cuenta. Aun así, por ahora le doy un 9 y no un 10 porque, aunque su nivel general es alto, su consistencia depende del futuro, si las próximas temporadas mantienen el nivel, puede escalar fácilmente en mi valoración, pero también es posible que se desgaste si no logran mantener lo de esta entrega. Por ahora, me parece una de las propuestas animadas más interesantes que ha sacado Netflix últimamente: inteligente, emocional y divertida. Sin duda podría ser un 10.
(ENG) Season 8 of Rick and Morty pleasantly surprised me—it recaptures much of the original spark of the series, but does so with maturity and a narrative evolution that feels well-earned. What stands out first is how it manages to balance absurd, self-referential humor with deeper character development, especially for Rick. His arrogance and nihilism genuinely carry emotional weight and real consequences, rather than merely serving as excuses for cynical jokes. The episodes aren’t just clever—they show greater thematic cohesion and a clearer focus. It’s no longer just about parodying genres, but about exploring identity, trauma, and even the idea of change within a universe that at times felt stagnant. There are episodes I found brilliant: one that breaks the fourth wall subtly without going overboard, another where Rick shows unexpected humanity without losing his sarcastic essence, and several more. The animation has also improved noticeably, with more attention to visual detail and creative direction that knows when to go ridiculously epic and when to be intimate and restrained. That said, it’s not perfect—some episodes still dip in quality, especially when they lean into weirdness for its own sake rather than narrative coherence. Even so, these moments don’t overshadow how much the season advances in humor, substance, and overall quality. From an objective standpoint, I’d give it a solid 9. And if I let my personal bias take the wheel, it easily brushes against a perfect 10.

Lo primero que destaco es cómo logra equilibrar el humor absurdo y autorreferencial con un desarrollo más profundo de los personajes, especialmente de Rick, realmente se siente que su arrogancia y nihilismo tienen peso emocional y consecuencias reales en el mismo, y no solo sirven como excusa para chistes ácidos. Los episodios no solo son ingeniosos, sino que se nota una mayor cohesión temática y un enfoque más claro, ya no se trata solo de parodiar géneros, sino de explorar la identidad, el trauma, e incluso la idea del cambio dentro de un universo que de momentos parecía estancado. Hay capítulos que me parecieron brillantes, por ejemplo, el que rompe con la cuarta pared de forma sutil sin caer en la exageración, o donde Rick muestra una humanidad inesperada sin perder su esencia sarcástica, entre otros más. La animación también ha mejorado notablemente, con más cuidado en los detalles visuales y una dirección creativa que sabe cuándo ser ridículamente épica y cuándo íntima y contenida, sin embargo, no todo es perfecto, pocos episodios siguen teniendo bajones, especialmente cuando intentan forzar una idea más por rareza que por coherencia narrativa, aun así, no opacan lo mucho que esta temporada avanza tanto en humor, en sustancia y calidad. Desde una perspectiva objetiva, le doy un sólido 9. Y si me dejo llevar por mi subjetividad, roza perfectamente el 10.
(ENG) It left me with a bittersweet feeling. I recognize the series has strong elements, though it also stumbles in key areas. The standout, without a doubt, is Nam Gi-jun’s role—his performance is restrained yet filled with emotional weight, effectively conveying the torment of a man returning to Seoul’s criminal underworld after a decade of silence. The setting is another strong point—the depiction of the dark streets and the surrounding violence feels raw, real, and well executed, with scenes that seem lifted straight from the webtoon. Moreover, the revenge storyline carries emotional depth, where it's not just about hate, but also guilt and the need for redemption. However, despite the promising start, the narrative falls into a degree of predictability. From the fourth episode on, you can already anticipate betrayals, deaths, and even some twists lose their impact. Several secondary characters, who initially show great promise, end up underused or entirely forgotten, which weakens the overall conflict. And while Gi-jun’s journey is intense, the ending doesn’t quite deliver the emotional punch a story this personal and violent should have. That’s why I give it a 7. It’s a visually solid series with strong performances. If you enjoy crime dramas with a dark aesthetic and broken characters, Mercy For None is worth watching.

(SPA) Me dejó con una sensación agridulce. Reconozco que la serie tiene elementos potentes, aunque también tropieza en aspectos clave. Lo mejor, sin duda, es el papel de Nam Gi-jun: su actuación es contenida pero cargada de peso emocional, y logra transmitir el tormento de un hombre que regresa al submundo criminal de Seúl tras una década de silencio. La ambientación es otro punto fuerte, el retrato de las calles oscuras y el mundo de violencia que rodea al protagonista se siente real, crudo y bien logrado, con escenas que parecen sacadas directamente del webtoon. Además, la historia de venganza tiene un trasfondo emocional interesante, donde no todo es odio sino también culpa y necesidad de redención. Sin embargo, a pesar de ese arranque prometedor, la narrativa cae en cierta previsibilidad. A partir del cuarto episodio ya puedes anticipar las traiciones, las muertes, e incluso algunos giros pierden fuerza. Varios personajes secundarios, que inicialmente prometen mucho, terminan siendo subutilizados o totalmente olvidados, lo que debilita el conflicto global. Y aunque el viaje de Gi-jun es intenso, el desenlace no consigue el impacto emocional que debería tener un cierre tan personal y violento. Por eso le doy un 7. Es una serie visualmente sólida y con buena interpretación. Si te gustan los dramas criminales con estética oscura y personajes rotos, Mercy For None vale la pena.
