This game is likely one of the most mediocre experiences I've ever had on the 3DS, with the story being as deep as a puddle, and gameplay that, while definitely unique, doesn't make up for the poor writing and predatory vibes that a majority of the game's adult cast gives, especially the head of the church, who remarks in the OPENING about how "Well-developed" some of the girls coming to the island are. Though those moments are few and far between one another, there are enough to make me kinda feel creeped out. Another problem I have with the narrative in this game is the amount of character the MC isn't allowed to have. Most of the time, his dialogue options while talking to the heroines are;A. You can just be nice.B. You can be a jackass.C. You can be a **** his options during Labrynths or Story Events are essentially just him either asking questions that ultimately don't matter, or, in the face of a threat, they give him the same answers with different levels of authority or confidence. He's essentially a piece of cardboard if you don't want to be a pervert, and that lack of depth from him makes everyone else who even feels anything about him feel like a flat character themselves (because they already kinda were). On the other hand, I do like many of the concepts this game has, such as labrynths, it's just unfortunate that the theme of each labrynth representing one of the seven deadly sins isn't taken far enough, and stop at color palette swaps and wall decor, which is due to the random generation, but it makes every Dungeon feel the same. If you told me to tell you a single difference between Lust and Gluttony, I don't think I'd be able to. The combat is also kinda boring, but has some interesting ideas of its own, such as chain, where, by attacking certain positions (of which there are four, with star children unable to stand in the same position as other teams of star children, but the hero and heroine being able to stand in any position) and using specific moves, you can build up the chain meter, freezing the enemy for at least a couple turns. This would be cool if it A. Wasn't kinda difficult to build meter, and B. Made a bigger impact. Don't get me wrong, the effect it has on combat is enough to make it something to consider, but that's even if it's available, since the positions are usually impossible to get to unless the enemy is charging an attack, and the moves are dependent on the star children's abilities, which makes it so that combat is simply a game of type advantage and positioning. I'd argue that this isn't a major issue, but it still represents the idea that this game lacks true identity, despite what the visuals want you to believe. Though, considering there aren't 3D models used for any of the supporting cast that aren't the MC or the Heroines, I don't think their budget was all to high. Either way, this game is extremely boring to me because it lacks the will to define an identity for itself. Oh, and they have a whole costume system, but they only have two costumes that available that aren't DLC for the 3DS version, so yeah, really fun.
TMNT's GBA version somehow holds up to this day, which is amazing considering how hard it is to find a rom or physical copy. Although short, the GBA release has a lot to offer in terms of replayability, including multiple achievements, challenges, and items(which are rarely used)that modify the experience. The combat is one of my favorite things, since you can press B in a sort of pattern to do infinite combo. If you play the game normally, then the combat system is pretty amazing, with movement being one of the best parts of this system. A double press in left or right make a roll, a jump+A does an air kick (but b can also be used to make a slightly different air kick), and a jump against the wall can be done as long as you have the skill from one of the shops. Another thing you can do is buy stat modifiers that make combos stronger, faster, your defense better, or add more stanima. This game is just really fun, only being held back by the constraints of being a movie game.
