Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser2
Sep 1, 2015
Oh Joe, I was actually looking forward to this movie because I found the first one to be a nice surprise. But this movie actually retreads on ground Joe 1 already covered. We get the same jokes, similar situations and similar outcome. The only thing I liked about this movie was the fact they got a pretty decent amount of the original cast to reprise their roles for this movie, but not even that could help the overall film. If you loved or liked Joe Dirt 1 you're not going to find that same feeling here. Watching once should be enough.

Air2
Aug 15, 2015
Really dull and boring. This movie wastes two talented people on a yawn inducing script full of cliches for the genre. If you're a fan of either one of these stars check out Norman Reedus in Boondock Saints or The Walking Dead and Dijmon Hounsou in Blood Diamond or Gladiator. This movie is just a slog to get through.

Project Almanac3

I gave this movie a chance since I like time traveling movies. But the second a love story pop up I knew how the rest of the movie was gonna flow. They could of done something sweet with this college kids stumble on time travel concept, but it devolves into the standard teenage love story, only with time travel. If you want something on in the background while you're doing something else this is your movie.

Jupiter Ascending2
Jun 9, 2015
Boring, so boring. First a few things, Mila Kunis can't act, visuals can't make up for lack of an interesting story, a person talking softly to make them seem like more of a bad guy doesn't work. This movie was tough to get through, I nodded off at parts especially when they were talking so softly it's like they were being nice enough to talk soft so you could fall asleep easier. Also with all the info Jupiter is given about her life she doesn't seem to reACT the way you'd expect an everyday person would. If you're a big Channing Tatum fan he's shirtless at some parts, but he's just as bad an actor as Kunis. The only thing this movie has going for it is it's visuals and even they aren't that great. If you like these two "actors" pick another movie with them in it. Jupiter Ascending should be descending into a bargain bin near you.

Assault on Wall Street6
Nov 8, 2014
Assault on Wall Street is a good movie, not a great movie or a movie you'll want to watch again anytime soon, but it's a good movie. It's a revenge themed movie that works well for what it is. The set up involving a armored car security guard and his sick wife dealing with compounding medical bills that force them into a debt spiral they can't get out of touchs real life in America these days. The first half of the movie does a good job of setting up what makes Jim seek revenge. We're able to sympathize with Jim during these moments and see how he could come to this conclusion. The way it's acted though is another story, some of the actors in this film are a little surprising. Veteran actor Keith David has a role as an NYPD officer who's been in the vice grip of debt before, we also have Edward Furlong playing Jim's best friend and co-worker. Both of these actors do well in their roles and it's nice to see Edward trying to rebuild his acting career. The main character though, Jim, played by Dominc Purcell comes off as just above wooden. He seems like a great guy, but he would come off in real life as creepy, someone you would keep your guard up around. He delivers a fair performance, but I think someone else could of played the part just a little better. The second half of the movie is where it begins to hit the fan as Jim loses it and takes out his frustration and anger against those on Wall Street and for the most part these scenes are done quite well. The action is good and Uwe Boll doesn't shy away from showing some blood and gore. The ending is somewhat of a mixed bag for me, as I kinda agree with it, yet think it shouldn't have happened another way. Assault on Wall Street won't become a action classic, but it 's worth a watch, especially if you hate the **** on Wall Street.

The Expendables 31
Aug 16, 2014
So really quick, did you catch this in theaters or did you watch it online? Stallone and crew (sort of) are back for Expendables 3 and the movie **** horribly. It's a horrible action movie, it's a horrible Stallone movie, it's a horrible Expendables movie. Ask yourself, "Why do you like the Expendables?" Your answer should because it's a movie that brings together the action stars of the 80s and 90s in a explosive, action-fest we've been dreaming about. This movie throws that premise out the window quick and gives you modern action crap that's as dull and boring as modern dramas. We came to see our action favorites battle it out on screen with the bad guys, not a bunch of new nobodies no one cares about. Seriously, they toss out Stallone's team for most of the movie for the sake of introducing a load of new people you won't care about. We even get a VERY dull montage of Stallone picking up the new recruits with Kelsey Grammer's character and this is where the film dies for about 30 minutes. It was so long and boring I had trouble staying awake. We get 2 dull White guys, a girl who looks like a guy and a INCREDIBLY ANNOYING Antonio Banderas to round out the new additions. Really though, why did they make Banderas so F-ing irritating? Speaking of new additions Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson and Harrison "I shot first!" Ford make their Expendables debut. While seeing these guys on screen for this was kinda cool they really didn't do anything, especially Ford who came off as tired and looking bored. I never expected this movie to have Oscar quality acting, but at least give a damn. The action scenes were flashy, although not interesting, seriously how come we went from the gore and guts of Expendables 1 to the no blood and knives in the back crap of Expendables 3. These movies are supposed to be love letters to the action packed movies of a begone era right? So how come they can't get the level of over the top violence right? As far as action movies go this one was bad, real bad. It's a bad action flick and it's a slap in the face to Expendables fans who like/loved the first 2 movies. If this movie were to play on TNT on a Saturday afternoon they wouldn't have to worry about editing anything out. It's that tame. Do yourself a favor and skip this one and hope the 4th one is better.

Sabotage2
Jul 12, 2014
I wasn't aware of this Arnie movie til my girlfriend downloaded it and asked,"Do you want to see a new Schwarzenegger movie?" This one was completely off my radar, and maybe it should of stayed that way. Sabotage isn't exactly a balls to the wall action film, there's a little bit of suspense thrown in for those of you new to that concept. Otherwise you've seen this formula before. Team of awesome "specialists" gets the blame for something missing/gone wrong, the leader is tossed, teams falls into disarray, leader comes back seeking payback, team gets killed one by one and there's something else, but I don't want to give it away. Trust me though when you see it it won't be anything ****. This movie falls on the dull side with boring dialog, Arnie isn't known for his acting chops, that mostly consists of cussing and insults. The action though is pretty decent, if you're looking for good gore in a movie it's here. Firefights are done well and don't seem too unrealistic, although there's one scene that had me and my girl laughing cause the blood looked more like someone dropped a bottle of BBQ sauce on the floor. In the end though it's just a very dull and forgettable movie. Arnold looks very tired in most of his scenes and all the other actors were just not interesting. It's the action in this movie that keeps it from being a total zero, but even those scenes added together only amount to something under 10 minutes. If you can watch it for free give it a go, if you're gonna pay for it pass it up.

RoboCop2
Jun 29, 2014
Okay, so I finally sat down and watched the new Robocop and it was a waste of time. First, I love the original Robocop and it's first sequel, but I couldn't let those two facts play into my viewing of this movie. I wanted to take it on it's own merit. It starts off alright we see the US in Iran with drones, one of them being ED-209 from the original, we get some decent action topped off with what's supposed to be a shock moment then we move into Detroit. This is where the movie begins to fall apart for me. The big argument as to why they need a Robocop is because Detroit is plagued by crime, yet in the scenes of Detroit they show us the city looks like it's doing great. The sun is always shining, there's no visible urban decay, we get no shots of random crimes or violence. The most we get is a scene where we're introduced to Alex Murphy and his partner undercover buying rifles from some guy. Hell, the film crew could've just drove around real life Detroit and captured all the decay and violence they needed without having to resort to sets. Everything just seemed too clean and okay, that also goes for the police station Alex worked in. For a city laid to waste by crime the police station seems quite enough to be a station in Podunk, Iowa. There were no shots of other officers bringing in gang members or hookers, there were no citizens damanding the police do something about the crime in their neighborhoods. Again, Detroit just seem like an ideal place to live in this movie, thus eliminating the need for Robocop. As for the actors in this movie only Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton are worth mentioning. The guy playing Murphy is bad, his wife and child are horrible actors, if we can't connect to Murphy then we're just watching a tin man ride around and pout. And yes I said pout, Robo seems to do a lot of that in this movie. I get it being turned into a machine would **** for some people, but you're a cop who's just been turned into a superhero, you're not confined to a wheelchair or stuck in a bed for the rest of your life. Robo cries about this to and beyond the point of annoyance add together the scenes of awkward interaction with his dull family and you'll be letting out tons of yawns. The supporting cast outside of Oldman and Keaton are 100% forgettable, aside from knowing Murphy's partners name none of these characters stick in your head. Now on to the effects, while good for the most part some shots made me feel like I should have been pressing "A" to skip. Since this is the future we have to see people using float screens and being able to control and manipulate them by waving their hands. There are humanoid drones who react better than humans and every aspect of life seems to be captured by CCTV cameras. It was hard to suspense disbelief since they only set this movie in 2028. It would be a little more believeable if it was set in say 2050 or higher. And since cameras are everywhere doesn't it seem difficult to pull off crimes if you're being watched in nearly every place you're in, thus eliminating the need for Robocop. Just watch what people are doing on the cameras and send police to the scene since you're watching a crime in progress. Also we're shown this exoskeleton worn by military to help on the battlefield, I'm assuming it makes you a little faster and stronger so why didn't they just take that put some light armor plating on it and give it to the police? Thus eliminating the need for Robocop since you can give officers the gear to make them stronger and tougher than the criminals. Robocop almost doesn't make sense in his own world in this movie, if you wanted to put a machine on the streets of America so your evil company can make more money you've already proven you can make the exoskeleton, so why make Robocop and go through all the hassles. The story is dull and predictable too since a multi-billion dollar company is involved you know they're going to be the final bad guy, it just takes so long for the movie to get to the point where Robo brings down said company your just glad it's over. And that's how I felt once the credits started I was glad it was over. This could've been a good action movie, but there's so many boring scenes and even the action scenes seem tame. Like something pulled from a video game cutscene. As it stands on it's own Robocop 2014 is dull and boring, as part of the Robocop line it's worse than Robocop 3. At least that movie is so bad it'll have you laughing.

War of the Worlds: Goliath2
Apr 17, 2014
This movie just feels like one really long pilot for a cartoon series. The characters are stock, the story kind of pulls you in at first then it falls apart just as it gets going. The only redeeming thing about this movie is the design of the the giant mechs they ride and some of the backgrounds look good, too good to appear in this movie. If the story was more focused this movie would've kept my attention better. This one is a watch if it's free type deal.

The Legend of Hercules0
Apr 6, 2014
Just think of all the people that could've been fed and clothed with the money used to make this movie. It's a waste of everything, I don't see how this didn't go into a vault never to be release. Thank God it's over for me.

White House Down0
Apr 6, 2014
Let's attack the White House! Sounds like a good premise but falls apart in every category, acting especially, this came out along side Olympus has Fallen and even though Olympus was a steaming pile too this movie is just worse. Save your cash this movie isn't worth anyone's time.

Elysium1
Apr 6, 2014
Welcome to Planet Mexico!!! That would've been a better title for this movie than Elysium. This movie does the overpopulated Earth thing and does it in a fashion that would make Captain Planet blush. The hero doesn't do anything to adhere us to him, the villains are so over the top they come off as just cartoonish. The concept of Elysium itself is just odd, if going into space and building colonies is easy why isn't there more of them. Also the going into space part seems as easy as driving down the street all they have to do is wait for the colony's defense grid to go down to make a heavenly run for the border. It's also maddening not to at least see how the rest of the world is fairing in this overpopulated mess. What about countries that are already overpopulated today such as China or India? Frankly showing us L.A. as a brown dirty stain on the California coast is nothing new and it would've been better to at least get a glance at the rest of the country. This visuals are crisp, I'll give them that, although they just remind me of a dozen boring first person shooters I've played. This movie seemed to have a cool premise but when you see it you'll just come away confused or confused and laughing.

Escape Plan6
Apr 2, 2014
One's an action star who's still got plenty of action left in him, the other is Schwarzenegger. That pretty much sums up this action title. There's some decent action scenes and the ones involving Arine you can clearly see his double taking the hits. Stallone is the only one who saves this movie from becoming unwatchable, he's still has what it takes to keep you in your seat. As for Arnie, hit the gym running California has made him soft and doughy.

The Purge1
Apr 2, 2014
This movie could've been better if it was from the view of person caught on the streets as the "purge" happened. Having the focus be on a family barricaded in a house makes for dull experience for something that sounded so unique to see. Instead we get a family we couldn't care less about. When you're hoping the "heros" are quickly killed by their tormentors that's a bad sign. As for the tormentors they come across as laughable at best. They seem like rich psychos in real life now they get an excuse to kill poor people without penalties. A better story would've followed people who ended up outside while trying to get home before curfew. This movie gets a 1 only because of it's idea, too bad it wasn't fleshed out better.

Lone Survivor5
Apr 2, 2014
This movie is average at best. The title and the way it started let me know how this is gonna play out thus making me not care for characters outside of Marky Mark. The way the characters act are typical for a modern war movie. You have your everyman, leader, tech-guy, trigger happy guy and it's the trigger happy guy I found myself agreeing with the most. He wants to kill 3 people cause he knows they'll tell the Taliban in the area their whereabouts. If they had done that they would have avoided their real fate. If this movie taught me anything it's that the Geneva Convention is out dated and doesn't apply to war in the 21st century. The action is good, realistic and will make you cringe at some points, but the story is cliche' and honestly a little dull. It's okay at best but it won't make much of an impression on you.

The Returned7
Mar 15, 2014
Okay was looking for a zombie flick saw this and read it's premise and decided to give it a go. You know what, it wasn't that bad. It takes the already dulling zombie genre and injects a bit of "life" into it by giving you a sceanrio where the zombie outbreak has already happened and humanity had the brains to overcome it and find a way to control it. We get to see a world (well just a city actually) where those who were once zombie infected now live among those who never got bitten. Obviously there's tension between those who are infected and those who are pure. It creates some tense moments, but it kinda takes a dive by the delivery of the actors. They're not horrible by any means it's just in some scenes they seem over the top. If you're looking for shots of terrific zombie gore this isn't for you. This movie plays out as more of a drama along the lines of the Walking Dead (actually it's better than most of this season) but will keep you entertained to the end. The ending of this film is actually quite good and nicely caps off the movie. Not the bloodiest zombie movie, but one of the smartest.

Reasonable Doubt1
Mar 8, 2014
This movie was bland, predictable and felt like a episode of Law and Order were Sam Jackson was a guest star. It takes cliched tropes for these kinds of movies and just runs through the motions. The lead, who put forth such a dull performance I forgot his name, wears a look of guilt on his face so obvious it's odd that the other characters can't tell he's guilty of something. I only checked out this flick cause it was free and now I've erased it from my hard drive. It's a very boring thriller that offers no thrills since you can already tell how it's gonna end. Just watch three episodes of Law and Order and you have just spent your time better.
