Thank god this has finally ended. The first two seasons were amongst the best TV series ever and a tribute to one of the great 20th Century novels but after that it just went downhill, especially when Elisabeth Moss was allowed to direct. Her episodes were egotistical in the extreme mostly consisting of extreme close-up shots of her looking angry. A classic case of a fine actor who couldn't direct the Thames past Westminster Bridge. The major problem was that the series just became dull and repetitive: June escapes and then decides, for no logical reason to go back to Gilead. There is clearly something wrong when the antagonist, Serena Joy, is more interesting than the heroine. Let's hope that the projected prequel 'The Testaments' is better.
Although based on a ridiculous premise this is a mildly entertaining action series spoilt by the failure of the main characters to generate any sort of sympathy. Ana/Carrie is an entitled **** bent on ensuring her brat of a daughter follows her example while 'Lucas' despite his hard-man credentials is simply pathetic. The gratuitous sex and nudity adds to the series's watchability and at least demonstrates, unlike most US television dramas, that women rarely wear bras when having sex!
