This is awful stuff. The CGI demon baby was introduced with no build up and is horrendously amateurish looking and makes the whole thing look cheap and tawdry.
Surely a contender for the biggest drop off in quality in a TV season in TV Series History? It's really just a damm shame. Ever since that big cast change it has been downhill like a snowboarder off the top of Mt. Everest!
After 3 episodes not all that impressed. There was a bit of buzz around this as a sort "unexpected quiet release" type thing but I've not seen that so far. A bit generic to be honest - I will revisit as more episodes come out as will continue for a few more given that I've watched the first 3. Not seeing anything noteworthy or very original so far....
This series starts off promisingly enough and initially seems glossy and stylish but takes an express train down a steep hill after the halfway point. It just gets ridiculous, pointless and frankly boring in terms of plot. The lead actor is badly cast here - he's about as believable as the mob boss as a unicorn. Another Sky production that yet again flatters to deceive. The only fun and interesting character was the blocky Albanian dude.
If you watch this until the end you will know how truly terrible it actually is. Really poor quality television. Grant is pretty awful by the end, nothing more than a few eyebrow wobbles. Kidman is also dialling it in.
Now that the final season showing has completed it can be said that it was a pretty good last run of episodes -> certainly one of the stronger in the series. Once the show got out of "Brody mode" it was able to feed into the pulse of current events and even though it had flaws, that's what made it watchable and interesting. From the migrant crisis to social media election manipulation and the alt-right it was able to hold up a mirror. The finale episode and its ending was a bit Hollywood but pretty decent in itself. Hasta la vista Homeland.
