I have to be honest, I was hoping for more use of the Jurassic Park license in Jurassic World Evolution. That out of the way, JWE is a rather deep strategy game and is a must have for any true Jurassic Park fan.
As someone who played Gears of War 3 for over 250 hours, I was excited to experience all of the changes Gears of War Judgement was gonna bring to the table. Only problem, there aren't that many! The menus, music, animations, are exactly the same! The only changes they did make, made the game worse! Just save your money and keep playing Gears of War 3.
It's not very often that I would even consider giving a game a 10, but Tomb Raider earns it. Not only did Tomb Raider live up to my expectations, it exceeded them dramatically. This game has it all! Amazing graphics, great story, and fantastic gameplay. I often couldn't tell if I was watching a cut scene or playing the game! This is also one of the best Third Person Shooters I have ever played!
Defiance is average in every way...almost. It has average graphics, average gameplay, and an average story. However, Defiance is fun because it is SO different than any of the other games for consoles. It truly is a MMO for consoles. The world is huge and there seams to be an unlimited amount of quests! If you liked Borderlands and you like MMOs, then you're gonna love Defiance!
Absolutely one of the most fun times I have had with a game EVER! Something about this game just clicked with me, which is especially weird since this was my first outing with an SSX title. It wasn't long after I bought the game, that I was cruising down the mountain posting multi-million point scores. I must say that the game does a great job of making you feel awesome while you shred down the mountain. The Rider-Net feature is also amazing as it is constantly updating you with stats from your friends list as they/you beat each others high scores. Even the story (although short) was entertaining as it introduces you to a lot of the other things the game has to offer besides besting my friends scores. An absolute must buy!
Two years after I originally purchasing this game, I finally beat it! I found the branching story to be compelling and entertaining. I was blown away with how my choices actually had an effect on the outcome of the story. Many games boast this feature, but I have never seen it done as well as it was in Alpha Protocol. Unfortunately, the actual game-play is pretty horrible. I knew this going in and is why I decided to played the game on easy. This allowed me to reduce the amount of time I actually had to spend in the missions. You can now pick this game up for under $10 almost everywhere and I highly recommend that you do for the story alone.
This is the Sonic game Sonic fans have been waiting for. The ability to play the levels in both 2D and 3D is just awesome! The sense of speed on both styles in intense and borders on twitch reaction. The story is garbage, but the level design, and times/completion stats will keep you coming back for more.
For some reason I am a **** for party games. However, this is not one you should play. The game just feels hollow. Where is the host? Where are the other contestants? I also found the prices to be unbelievable. It does provide some fun if your a big Price is Right fan, but aside from spending an hour here in there with your friends, there is no reason to play this game.
I think the most important thing to know about this game is that it is short. I completed the game on easy in 4 hours. Had I paid $60 for this game, I would have probably hated this game. Since I got it for $20 and knew it was short, I found the campaign to be fun. The cars really give you a visceral experience as you race across the country. Definitely more of a rental, but I still had a lot of fun with it.
There is a reason why this game is in the TOP 10 360 games of all time. Rockstar nailed it with this one. From the soundtrack, to the sets, to the voice acting; everything screams cowboy! The story is absolutely amazing and John Marston is one of the best if not THE best characters I've seen in a game. Get out the Jameson and poor **** while you settle in for one of the best video game experiences of your life!
This game is great! The number one thing that comes to my mind when reviewing this game is...VALUE. Wow! There are a tone of cars and tracks and they look better than ever! Although its not a huge change over 3, it is better in every way. The AI is especially improved as Forza 3 felt way too easy or too hard. This is a must buy for anyone looking to sink hours upon hours leveling up and building your car collection.
Let me start off by saying I only played the first level of this game. It was so bad, I couldn't justify playing any further. Let me save you time and money by telling you the game looks horrible! The controls are way too loose and the story is a dime a dozen. Save yourself some time and just punch yourself in the face as it will have the same result as playing this game... a headache!
Much to my surprise, I found this game to be pretty fun. While absolutely nothing like the original, it did offer a lot of fan service and ingenuity that I wasn't expecting. It's definitely rough around the edges, but its cheap enough now that you should be able to get your $10 worth no problem.
This was my first time playing all the way through Halo: Combat Evolved and I gotta say that this game really holds up. While some parts, seemed a little dated, I was blown away when I considered that this game actually came out 10 years ago! The ability to switch between the old graphics and the enhanced is just awesome! Controls are spot on and the game is fun throughout!
Clearly, I just don't get this game. While I LOVED the music and thought the art style was great, I gotta admit that I thought the story was stupid and found the game-play to be boring. Plus, the game is less than 5 hours long which is a little less than I would like for $15.
While this game does look cool and the controls feel great, the extremely short story and lack of imagination keep this game from being anything other than mediocre. With the endless possibilities the Star Wars universe provides, it is a shame this is what came out of it. Sadly, this game feels like a cash in in every possible way.
Fun Fun Fun! Did I mention this game is fun?! Perfect blend of Hack-N-Slash and Shooter! This game does a phenomenal job of throwing literally dozens of orcs at you at one time. The story is actually interesting and your missions have purpose. I highly recommend this sleeper hit.
Wow! What a surprisingly fun game! Especially since you can find this game for about $10. This is what games were designed to ****! I really enjoyed how much it reminded me of POP Sands of Time, but the developers also took the time to make it more modernized by including leveling up abilities and adding new magic elements. A fun stress free game (with lots of easy achievements if your in to that sort of thing)
Syndicate is actually a pretty good game with a brutally difficult co-op mode. My only complaint (and I have the same complaint with most games) is that it just felt kind of repetitive by the end. The shooting mechanics were great and the guns felt super powerful, but the non-scaling co-op mode and repetitiveness wore on my be the end.
I picked up Red Faction for $10 and thought at that price, I couldn't go wrong. Boy was I wrong! If you like fighting alien bugs over and over again inside confined spaces, then you will love this game. If not, then you will probably get annoyed at the repetitiveness and barely be able to tolerate playing through to the end thanks to the sometimes enjoyable destruction and magnet gun mechanics.
This game blew me away with its ability to come on strong and make me think "Wow! This game is going to be awesome!' However, about half way through you realize you have learned all the moves, seen all the character types, and have experienced everything the game has to offer. You basically do the exact same thing for 6 hours! Absolutely one of the most repetitive games I have ever played!
This is the first Bethesda game that I have played all the way through and I must say that I believe this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship! The scale of this game is mind blowing! 100 hours in and I STILL have not completed a multiple factions. While the graphics are a little rough sometimes, none of that matters as you find yourself more concerned with your character and others that roam the world of Skyrim. It is no surprise that this won Game of the Year. It is OFFICIALLY THE BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED.
Asura's Wrath is a difficult "game" to score. The art style really pulled me in from the beginning. I wish I could say the same for the story. About half way through, I found myself skipping the story part and just playing the game segments which sadly only lasts for a few minutes each during the 19 episodes. Since this "game" is supposed to be and interactive story, there is no way I can truly recommend this game as the story is rather simple and boring. (Not to mention, a little weird) I would say wait till this title drops to $20 and then try out the 6 hours of play it provides.
How do you spell Dialed In? = Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Save yourself some money and just keep playing Black Ops. It feels (and looks) exactly the same!
I don't often feel inclined to write a full review on a game, but for Jurassic Park: The Game, I will make an exception. The reason being that I AM A HUGE JURASSIC PARK FAN. If the same is true for you, then you will love this game. If not, then you will hate it because its not really that good ****. It's that simple. The entire game, from story, to music, to jokes is fan service and to be getting a new JP game 18 years after the movie released is just an awesome experience! Rating for a Jurassic Park fan = 8. Rating if not = 5
You don't know Jack is exactly the game that it should **** more and no less. While the menus and options are sparse, none of that really matters since the game is so fun and easy to pick up and play. Each question is worded in such a way that it is just as difficult to figure out what the question is as it is to come up with the correct answer. Online multiplayer and built in tracking of which rounds you've already played only add to the replay factor. Add in constant DLC and this game is a no brainer at $30.
Homefront would be an amazing game if it were still 2008 because that's when this game looks like it was made. Many of the key components such as graphics, voice acting, and menus really give this game a dated feel and hold it back from being one of the better games to come out this year. Thankfully, there is fun to be had in the online multiplayer. While many of the ideas implemented (leveling up, perks, etc) are borrowed from COD, there are some pretty awesome new concepts and modes you will experience while playing with 31 other people online. The size of the maps and vehicles make this a great departure from COD and kept me playing for quite some time. If your buying this game for the single player compaign, then your buying the wrong game alltogether as it only takes about 5 hours to complete. If its online multiplayer you want, then this could be the game for you as long as you don't mind the dated graphics and loose controls.
