For a free game there is so much here. Learning how to do tricks and acrobatics is insanely fun, the customization options are endless (I just wish there were more free stuff in the pass) and the gameplay is quick and dynamic, not repetitive. Highly recommend
This game has so much potential. The mechanics feel fresh, it's a much-needed change to the football video game landscape, and it comes from a young and ambitious studio. But right now the game feels like a beta. Crossplay is great, but there are still lots of bugs that need fixing, updates are slow, the ranked system makes no sense at all, and it's killing interest in the game - which in turn makes finding matches harder. I'm eager to see the game thrive, but right now I would carefully warn people to not take it too seriously. If you try to see the game as a competitive ranked experience, you will be disappointed by inconsistent matchmaking and a toxic attitude from higher level players. If you see it as a casual, fun way to spend time with friends, you'll have a great time.
Most of the negative reviews are just spiteful resentment from the PvE fiasco. Which is fair - but makes the game seem way worse than it really is. After Marvel Rivals came out, the game really pulled out all the stops to not be left behind. The game is now significantly better. The customization options (both in regular play and Stadium) allow you to play in any style that suits you. Free loot boxes are back and it's never been easier to get cool skins. Battle pass has improved. The game's balance and polish has also never been better. All of this for a free game. Now numbers are back to pre-marvel rivals days. I've been playing since 2018 and I'll keep playing as long as it's live. Truly the best ever hero shooter.
