Close Combat: The Bloody First3
Apr 1, 2021
Will update this with a full review when I've actually bothered to finish the game. If I can endure it. My bloody first impressions are not good. I've been wanting a 3D CC game for decades. ...And I still do. This does not feel like a CC game. This feels like a cheesy spin-off made by a first-time developer with a pirated beta of unity to work with. The original 2D graphics look better and more fitting. And by that, I mean the original 2D graphics from CC1. And they don't look good. But sure as heck do they look a lot more like CC than this unfocused mess ****. While I'm playing, I don't feel like I in actuality have any proper tactical control of anything, and it feels more like a bad movie is playing out in front of me. The whole time, I have this loud voice inside my head going "BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!!!!!!!!" It's literally all I can think when I play this game. While waiting for combat to resolve, you could also try such thrilling things as watching paint dry to keep you from falling asleep. The graphics are god-awful. Everything maxed out, and it still looks worse than games several decades old. What the actual flying F is this failure ****??? If this is what they want CC 3D to be, I can say this; WE DON'T WANT ANY MORE OF IT! Holy F this is bad. Honestly. Really, really, REALLY bad.

Warcraft III: Reforged0
Jul 1, 2020
This is simply unacceptable. I wanted to wait a while before writing a review, but after the first patch came out since release, I can't help myself. In it's current state, the game is simply broken. No ifs, ands or buts. So, things generally were ok, except for some annoying bugs when playing competitively, like units running in place instead of actually going where you tell them to etc. ... Now, after their recent patch, all bushes on the maps have turned in to black/green cubes. Personally, I don't care about the campaign or cutscenes at all. So F all that noise. But I do care about the competitive multiplayer part of it, which currently lacks any kind of ELO/MMR/Rank/Ladder system, making it a painful experience where I have to deal with inexperienced morons in my team time after time. It's full of toxic trolls, and idiots. People with no manners in any way, shape or form. You can't not win your way away from these incapable subhumans, and get to play with players that have a brain. Now, after the patch, they introduced this brand new and amazing feature..... INVISIBLE CREEPS THAT YOU CAN'T ATTACK! Which is awesome! It doesn't affetc all players, but it sure as hell Fs me over! Can't build expansion bases becase there are invisible enemies blocking it, that I can not kill, and will kill any building I create near them, or unit I place near them. So this BS has lost me a couple of games. I can't bother thinking about all the crap that's messed up, but on a gameplay level there are a serious amount of rage-inducing bugs that have made me just ragequit several 1v1 games. Like not being able to pick up units. You send a unit somewhere, then it goes somewhere else and dies instead. You click hold position, and then the units just attacks and gets itself killed anyway. So F your micro, it ain't worth sh##. The game's gonna make sure of that. Utterly disappointing remake. What the F did you do for all these years, Blizzard!??!?! scratch your assets!? (see what I did there?) You greedy asset-holes. And reading up on their EULA, that's not even a made up word. It's truth. Years in the making, and they make it worse than the 18 year old original. What on earth!? Greedy, cash-grabbing scum! Random Team games are still rampant with **** and teamkillers and trolls and ****, JUST like it was on classic after blizzard decided they'd stop giving a crap about people ruining the game for other people, and just let them run loose and do what they want. They still do. With no repercussion. .....why does blizzard not get a repercussion for this!? like some anthrax at their offices or something!? UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!! -5/10 DO BETTER!!! You filthy rich ****! Spend some money to make some money, you A grade A-holes! ************ So, I revisited this game months later. 1st of july 2020. And guess what? Still none of the key features implemented in the game. Therefore, I am forced to downgrade my reviewscore to a -10/10. sadly, 0 is the lowest metacritic goes, but know that this game is a -10.

Absolutely impossible to use with a mouse. The in-game sensitivity is a joke. First you have to turn your mouse sensitivity to max. Then you have to brace yourself for the ball going any direction but straight forward, even though you move the mouse perfectly. Clearly a game for console. Probably better with a controller. Which should not be necessary for PC. Just make a better game. FFS. Even at 3 dollars this game is an infuriating disappointment.

Panzer Corps 20

Very disappointing. First off, the release was over an hour late, so thanks for having me stare at the steam page refreshing every 2 minutes for an hour. Second off - I'm deeply disappointed, and hate the game. Which is sad, because I loved the first game. It suffers from the same crap Panzer General suffered from when it went from 2D to 3D - somehow they think they need to change other things that worked too. I like the new tactical debth to some units, and hate the changes they made to others - like for instance that artillery now no-longer can support adjacent units being attacked by hard units(tanks etc), and is generally worthless when it comes to scoring any kind of damage. Now they are relegated to uber-crap support units. Here's my main gripes with the game, tho; As with Panzer General, it went from a somewhat "massive" scale, where you could have cool combinations of units and field quite a force, to now limiting you excessively, and leaving both you and the enemy with less units on the field, that for some stupid reason have more numbers per unit in a hex. This is terrible. Now you can't be as tactical as you could before, because there are so damn little units to play around with. There's a new core pool, and it's **** Instead of having a set number of units you can mix and match for the tactic of your pleasing, now you are limited to a core number that each unit fills up an excessive amount of, and oversizing units seems somewhat a must (infantry is oversized by default, and it ****) - the graphics are messy and somewhat confusing, and hurts my attention-span to look at, and tires me. I did not enjoy this one bit. I wanted to. I've been looking forwards to it for years. But what they delivered is unacceptable garbage. I can't bother writing much more, but it's safe to say that unless they radically change the game, it's trash. Just stick to the original. It is still a 10/10 for me - this seems amateur-like, and just plain ****. Devoid of fun. What happened with PG 3D? They removed the sense of tactics by severely limiting the number of units you can control - and the same is true here. Among several other terrible... TERRIBLE mistakes they've made decision-wise while making this pile of steaming ****. Steer clear. Not worth your money at the asking-price, or even a third of it. I wish I pirated it. I want my money back. This was garbage. Matrix/slitherine games are usually hit or miss. This was a huge miss. 2/10. Do better. I just really don't want to ever start this game up again. Had to go 0/10 to make the actual score more correct. Blatant idiots keep giving it 10/10. This is nowhere near 10/10. It's misleading BS.

Is it just me, or is this game absolutely horrendous? I've tried several times to sit down and enjoy it. Oh, how I've tried. Ridiculous game-mechanics, the game failing to pause after hammering space thousands of times, shallow diplomacy with a lack of so many options and intricacies. You capture a province, then out of thin air, it becomes un-captured while you capture more, then some other nation that is at war with the nation you are at war with swoops in and captures the province next to your land, effectively separating you from the rest of the territory you are currently at war for control over. Crap diplomacy. Crap alliances. Crap defensive leagues. Just crap everything. As wide as an ocean yet as shallow as a puddle. Almost no unit variation. Crap trading system. Stupid tactics and strategy. ...grand strategy game? it has the representations of countries on the map, and of military units, but that's all. It looks intricate. Yet it's intricacies are deceptive and poorly executed. I re-load and re-load and re-load just to fight off the stupidity of the game to make some progress. Well. Screw that. I am done giving this game chances. It's horrendous.
