I wanted to enjoy WWE 2K26, but the monetization around unlocking characters really killed the experience for me. Locking wrestlers behind either an extreme grind or a $150 paywall feels ridiculous. One of the fun parts of wrestling games used to be unlocking characters by actually playing the game naturally. Now it feels like you either spend a ton of money or spend hours grinding modes you might not even **** someone who just wants to hop in and play matches with friends, it’s frustrating. By the time you unlock everything through gameplay, you’re already burned out. It turns what should be a simple “pick a wrestler and have fun” experience into a **** honestly reminds me of going on a whole Mario-style adventure just to do something basic. Or like a John Wick movie where a massive chain of events happens over something small — except here it’s just trying to play with the full roster. At that point the fun is **** gameplay itself can be good, but decisions like this make the game feel less like a wrestling sandbox and more like a monetization trap. If future games respected players’ time instead of pushing them toward expensive unlocks, the series would be a lot more enjoyable. There needs to be transparency as to what will come with the tiers before someone buys this piece of crap. Buyer beware. 2k is a bunch of grifters
