One quarter of the way through the game opinion: I enjoyed this more than the first. Deeply appreciated that Druckman didn’t sellout and write something to please everyone. I’ve usually associated gay as being a bit too annoyingly sensitive and too gentle (for lack of a better **** maybe it’s delicate), but this movie is as gutsy and manly as it can get. But at the same time it steals your heart even though u might not be the same sexual orientation as Ellie u can’t help but sympathize and appreciate that there is love there. There’s so much I want to say it’s funny, the game play is so enjoyable but tbh I gotta keep playing. I think if there are complaints about this move it’s bc some ppl a bit to sheltered (as this generation can be) to appreciate a story with some real struggle and some suffering and I kind of enjoy seeing fruitcakes like that squirm a little. After finishing: you can tell so much love went into creating this. There is such attention to detail, but at the same time, each step is leading us toward a bigger picture. Its hard for me to see how someone can not like it if they play it through, or even just play it half way through. Understandably I think some people were devastated by listening to some of the leaks, I went on nearly hate site towards the game and liked it, but well before the end of this journey I could see I was hasty in my reaction. It's a better story and more entertaining and more meaningful than most best pictures like Forest Gump, Braveheart, No Country for Old **** in comparing it to a book, it its in the same vein thematically as "To Kill a Mockingbird", but I feel even more superior because it was a sequel. I sympathize to those who heard about leaks and felt their high expectations were crushed. I know a theme of hope leaves you with this feeling that's hard to beat, like at the end of part 1. At the end of part 2, despite the insult you felt to your heart early on, you can tell as a gamer who longed to take a journey, you were deeply respected and loved.

I mean the story seems okay. It's human and i'd give like a 7.5 or 8 if i'm feeling generous. The game play is like a watered down uncharted and darksouls. I played several chapters and its hard for me to get into after beating uncharted and darksouls? I mean its not awful. I just couldn't get hooked like i was with dark souls? It's just at this point games need a lot of depth and a lot of innovation and while the story was good, it wasn't like empire strikes back resounding or heart-wrenching, and sometimes its just a stretch how the characters are? I mean it just felt like been there, done that?

The story is incredible with depth and meaning to everything that happens. It's like a better version of starwars, and the combat is an equal highpoint with so many ways to customize through skill trees , attribute scores, and special abilities done in a way that is unique and appealing. The only thing that is not on part with the writing and fighting is the art which is done probably in a way that is kind of like batman the animated series, which i felt also had good stories, but not my favorite art style. The is probably the best value you can get for your money considering there was only one episode when i first got this and still had a blast, but now there are three.

There is no way those negative reviews are real, unless they're from some guy who has a vendetta against the developer. Funniest iOS game ever. Can't wait to play more games from this developer. The thrill is mostly the same, which is a good thing. However the improvements are minimal. 1. The stage design is extremely linear, with many dead ends leaving you feeling dissatisfied. Gone is the fluid stage design in part one that linked the world together in a way that left you in awe. 2. The hub from demon's souls is back and that bring a welcome and homely feel. 3. The resistances do not have logic. Like fire resistance linked to strength, and vigor linked to frost etc... Logic satisfies players through suspension of disbelief. 4. They should have added more stats and made more ways of play available. for instances power a stat like stability can definitely change how you play the game, or weapon knowledge can increase the amount of techniques to a weapon. A thief should be much more like a thief from dungeons & dragons, with stealth movement, and powerful counters and back stabs, surprise attacks. maybe not even a great PvE Character. as well, a mage should be more unique. 5. Researched a few more moves on the sword combinations. These techniques are not hard to find. I find some of the combinations like for the straight sword too basic. The could even have added one or two more stances, perhaps a strong defensive stance, and an extremely mobile one that alllows for faster attacks. 6. they could have added a "throw" or disarm technique for when you get in close 6. The could have had different degrees of backstabs depending on how well you sneak up and your angle of attack, but instead its the same recycled back stab animation. At least in Demon's souls's there was a legitimate sword technique used in the back stab even if it wasn't the prettiest one. 7. The magic is way to simple and could definitely take notes from world of warcraft for mage spells. Imagine having blink and frost nova. I understand they were afraid to make mages powerful, but this is dark souls THREE, at this point it is time to take it to the next level and with enough careful design and balance they could have made an amazing game for magic users too. If anything fire, lightning, magic resistances should have been related to a magic, intellect, or resistances stat, or both. 8. I'm not feeling the focus points and when other players seem to use them in PvP they seem to be soo vulnerable and easy to hurt.. 9. Poison is annoying. It doesn't make sense that a guy hitting your shield poisons you. At this point I am just finishing the road of sacrifices. I will return to update this review.

I'm about 12 or 13 stages in. Its basically Hoplite with a story mode, since i've been craving for that game so much, this game is a welcome relief. They added some new enemies and abilities, and also you can control 2 more dudes so you basically control a party. This one area effect damage enemy is pretty neat, but the abilities so far don't seem to interesting. There are also boss fights which I like. Update...after playing some more it turned out not so fun. The mechanics got a little weird and it wasn't as smooth as hoplite.

While maintaining all the charming elements of Tiny Thief, except the one where you can click anywhere on the screen to find that hidden weasel (and similar items as the weasel)...this games improves in every way as a spiritual successor to Tiny Thief. Artwork while similar, is more intricate, creating more involving and emotionally invested atmospheres. The much improved music strongly lends to this element as well; my son and I were charmingly spooked out by some of the stages, while perplexed by the mysterious stages, and absolutely delighted by other stages. The puzzles are so so cleverly designed and makes so much sense when you solve them as the clues are all there, yet cleverly disguised. The story is overwhelmingly sweet, innocent, and adorable, yet meaningful as the different items recovered from your robot bring back a small animated memory that displays a simple kindness that truly touches your heart. My only motive for writing this review is that my son and I enjoyed the game so much, we really really hope there is a sequel, SOON.

This game is really good: The advice from TA would improve the game, but its is still very fun. Nostalgic. Remember sitting down at a table and having a dungeon master tell you the quests you are going on? Not only does it bring that back but it also helps you visualize the scenario as you enter the cave of spite or whatever and battle monsters and scorpions. I actually believe improved graphics would make this game more fun. its funny as hell, but I think this game would also do very well if it took itself seriously, yet keep the jokes...thats hard to explain, but has something to do with improved animation, losing the pixely graphics, more involved story, but don't lose the humor. The script could be improved. Better quests, better, more involved, main story line. It gets a 10 for me b/c its so unique in its genre...although its an RPG its an RPG within and RPG sort of... and its just a really good time. UPDATE: the expansions were not really good, and part two kind of OVER made fun of the genre that people loved in order to check out the game in the first place. Don't get part 2, demand a better, more complex and involved part 3.

This is way better than flappy bird. Instead of maneuvering through pipes you're crossing the road, much like frogger, but better than frogger too. If you take too long to cross you become dinner for an eagle or chicken hawk? That changes the dynamic of the game tremendously, from frogger for some reason and makes it really fun. Emulates the intensity of flappy bird but more addicting. Could benefit from special powers or powerups, that slow down time, or extra lives, or invulnerability, or powerhops (long jumps), diagonal hops, unsinkable, undrownable, radioactive, etc... for the straightforward simple game that it is, like flappybird. its very well polished and addictive.

Sep 26, 2014 went down the list of "top 10 best roguelikes on iOS" and played them all i liked this one and hoplite the best. this is the essence of **** a guy on a quest to kill a badguy on the on the 20th level of a dungeon. as you level up the levels get tougher. you do some lockpicking, sneaking, and spell casting but essentially you're a guy that swings a sword. feels like a primitive, but fun diablo. Update October 16, 2014 This game is much better than I initially thought. I see why its one of the best 150 games of all time. I thought it paled in comparison to hoplite initially but this game is actually much more complex. Beating this game is quite the feat and quite an adventure. Maybe the best game I've played on iOS

Props to Metacritic. I complained they did not have this game up and within less than an hour they responded by email with a link. On to the review: After having played this. I have to lower the score for wayward souls, which was probably a two compared to this game. This game is what DIablo 3 should of been. Its mind-blowingly good. The Toucharcade review is spot on. DEPTH DEPTH DEPTH. this game has it. Quests and storylines are BOMB. with twist on twists. Makes you feel like you have LOTS of choices that makes real impacts upon the story. You can be a goody good or wicked or in middle. The class system is a dream. You can diversify or focus like the TA guy says but after hours of experimentation I focus on being the gandalf wannabe. Dam, my wizard is so badass!!! thats what i feel like as I play this. but its not overpowering, the challenge is LEGIT. balanced almost as good as dark souls. I gave up RPG's for awhile b/c i couldn't stand the combat of final fantasy and skyrim, but then this new generation has games like Demon's Souls and this game which make RPG combat as good as it gets, painfully challenging with fluid controls. Death is horrible in just right way, partly b/c the economy is pretty well balanced. Every coin you get seems to matter and when you die, you lose a big chunk of your dough. Like Zombieville, the ability to customize your character is FUN and Complex. Not annoying and complex like some games. The guy in TA says you will run out of batteries multiple times on your ipad from trying to play it unplugged b/c its sooo addicting....that **** is happening to me. I'm not writing anymore. I'm going back to play dammit! Get this game. Support Mika mobile ( i think that's the company?) they take awhile to come out with games, but when they do...they knock it out of the ball park. I played this for about an hour. It does seem to have a lot of depth. and its not easy. Seems to be a lot of ways to upgrade this, and attack with this and defend with that. There are many characters to play with as well. Its probably more fun than I had if I played more too. Its just I put down Dark Souls 2 down just awhile ago, and I haven't beat it yet, so I think I'd rather play that before I beat a game that is similar but not as good.

Really good game. Feels like Star Trek with the various races, crew members, different systems that we've all heard on the show (shields, transport, etc...) Combat and the ship are appropriately complex and very fun. Great difficulty and tension. The depth of the game is quite amazing. Each of the characters on the ships can level up in their correlating skills according to the amount of time they spend in that area, kind of like dungeon siege. There are many strategies to upgrading your ship to survive. Having recently played another similar space game called “Out There” I would have to say the writing is pretty bad and relatively limited and quickly becomes repetitive after a few play throughs, whereas in Out There, there are far more unique scripts. The music by some dude named Ben Prunty is bit too disco and kind of disrupts the atmosphere. The guy is pretty lucky to have been a part of this project. However the amount of thought that went into the combat is clear and appreciated. If Out There’s writer and FTL’s creator got together a perfect gaming experience could be created on the level of the Grand Theft Auto series. While there is much room for improvement, in that respect, I give it a 10 because the excitement and tension of game through the combat and strategy of building your ship are unparalleled and I have not experienced something similar in another game. Very original and most successful Star Trek emulator in my opinion. Update: I played this non-stop for days and finally beat it on normal mode. Epic final battle, Felt very relieved and awesome to beat it, the most exciting space combat EVER, but for such a great battle there was not much of an ending, but that's almost a similar to complaint as above to say that the writing is very poor, and the narrative poorly told. In seeing the credits, I noticed the jobs were divided and the combat design by Justin Ma and Matthew Davis , are impeccably balanced and overwhelming fun, but the script writer, Tom Jubert needs to get help from the writer of Out There or be fired and hire that guy, b/c sometimes reading the events is nauseatingly repetitive and not very creative. The three endings I competed in Out There were phenomenally well told narrative-wise, and very satisfying to complete in comparison and even more difficult to achieve. However there is a lot of replayability since they have an easy and hard mode too, plus the iPad has these an option to enable advanced edition content, but not recommended until the game is beat once. I did not like the "achievements" they had. Having achievements that are nearly impossible to achieve is a very cheap way of trying to increase replayability b/c its a waste of anyone's time and that the developers think so lowly of their players to put such time wasting, brainless tasks is kind of sad, when they could have just improved their game by writing a better ending. But there are always players who try to get 100% completion in games like GTA. After beating the game once I did not have that strong of an urge to replay it with the different ships or even the "advance content" or "hard difficulty." Conversely, in "Out There" despite beating the game once I was immensely driven to ultimately beat all three endings to discover the narrative behind those endings.

This game is AWFUL. Its like a horrible game of checkers against the computer except the pieces are shaped like "hitman" and "bodyguards". The puzzles are so boring and less fun than a game of checkers against the computer. I would rather play checkers or chess which is available for free somewhere on iOS. Definitely corruption involved in the critics ratings of this game. I got robbed. I can't believe the price of this game and the low quality you get for what you pay. Do not get rip offed buying this horrible horrible game. There is a game that came out in January called Hoplite which is similar in that you move one space per turn to try to reach the "exit" of the stage, yet superior and funner in EVERY way, but because that game exists (it also got a 5/5 on TouchArcade) this game must receive a negative 10 by comparison, but since I can only go as low as on rating, there you have it. Boring and Horrible game. Square Enix must have bribed the critics and gotten a bunch of their own employees to give this positive reviews from users. Try Hoplite. If you do and that isn't ten times better I'll never write a review again. Must fight the corruption and expose Square Enix to prevent them from ripping off more people.

theres gotta be major corruption going on with these critics **** just a tile game and its not that fun...i think its barely passable. i kept playing for like 2 hours to justify the high critics **** hopefully discover what they were raving **** I like math, i like strategy games, i like sudoku, i like tetris, i like chess, i like words with friends and scramble with friends. Unfortunately, I like fun too, and If it were funner, i'd still be playing it, but its pretty easy to put down. In fact, you'll be annoyed you wasted time on this at all. Who likes this game that is a real person? someone who had issues with their math teacher and is trying to prove they know multiples of three? Seriously? Someone who has a fetish for the number 3? Hoplite, Out There, hero academy, sorcery, words with friends, scramble, puzzle fighter, tetris and the gameboy,, infect them all 2, plants vs zombies original...those are fun games. this is like one of those miserable pointless card games, like Pazzak, in Knights of the Old Republic, made to be a very minor distraction. I really wish I could get my money back because I was seriously **** and tricked by these critics into wasting my money which I forced myself to play for 2 days b/c i felt i better get some value out of my money. This is game is not fun and not entertaining. There has got to be some SERIOUS corruption going on to get so many high ratings. Really really fun game. Whoever made this is a creative writing genius on the level of Michael Crichton. He knows how to develop believable tension using an understanding of physics on the level of a a PhD in Theoretical Physics. This is what I wanted out of Sorcery 2 and but its even better than that. On top of having better writing they take away the rewind option that's available in the Sorcery series making every decision you make feel like it could cost you your life. The clever and complex writing along with the well crafted space noir music lend well to creating this lonely, isolated, mysterious atmosphere, where you feel like you are trapped in the vastness of the cosmos searching for a way home that might not even exist. That makes this game extremely good. This game feels a bit like sorcery because each decision must be carefully made and can lead to death, but you feel the danger and tension are much greater because when you die in this game there's no rewind option. There is a greater random element to Out There that pushes your thought processes to make the best calculations possible to survive, because so many times the worst of luck can kill you, and the longer you survive, pushes that luck. There is a sense of urgency in Out There which translates to making every choice count, and also makes every death hurt oh so good. The sense of urgency is akin to the movie Gravity, where every choice seemed so important it could lead to survival or death. Likewise the atmosphere of loneliness and isolation are akin to the movie Gravity around the time after everyone died and there was only one astronaut left, and she started feeling desperate depressed, scared of not having enough oxygen or fuel, and started hallucinating, and dreaming of her past life on earth and dreaming of her dead child, I imagine you die a lot or you're very clever and solve the game on few tries. I am belong to the group that died many times. Reaching the end of this game will feel like like an epic accomplishment. Update: I just Beat it! wow what an AMAZING ending. Excellent writing!! Update: Kept on playing, there are multiple endings, i only beat the easiest ending. Replay value is very high! Update 3, i thought i got to the 3rd ending and the story has crazy plot twist. All the endings seem tied together beautifully w/o conflict. Story is very complex and seems as if its written by a theoretical physicist / philosopher / master story teller. Do not pick this game up if you you have something important to do for the next two weeks . Update: i just beat another **** seems like there may be one or two more endings? Beating this game is better than beating ANY game ever made. They need to make a movie out of this game and this should get Alfonso Cuaron to direct it. Update: Just got the third Evil ending. It''s pretty damn good lol

I will try to be very objective, yet factual, and detailed in my review. I've put in about 40 minutes so far. Having played many turn based strategy games, I feel I can in one sense be highly critical, and one sense favoring of this genre. I have played D&D 1st, 2nd, and 3rd edition, all the fire emblems (liked), advance wars (liked), xcoms (liked), chesses (liked) i have played most of the turn based strategy games on the iphone and ipad, and there are too many to list but my favorite is hero academy, i liked warhammer quest, but i did not like skulls of the shogun, i thought "great little war game" was ok, From what I have seen so far about this game, I have a strong feeling this game is going to be good. The voice acting is unique impressing with me a voice and accent I have rarely heard, the story seems lengthy, complex, with much dialogue perhaps to the point of convoluted, but its cartoon presentation balances the serious depth of the story to a temporarily agreeable amount. During my first battle I found that combat to be relatively complex in a good way, taking into size of giants into account to cover four tiles on the battle field while humans take up one space. I was able to attack an opponents armor or strength initially both have different yet significant effects. The attacks among the two units I was able to use at the time was varied and intrigued me further. I also found the art work to be compelling for the size of the game (less than **** elaborate, I can tell the developer did not appear to have a lot of funds, but they made up for in by creating a detailed world that is pleasing to a video gamer, who's emphasis is on fun and a good story, instead of games with PS4 graphics with little challenge in thought nor skill. For now I recommend this game...I will be encouraged to send more updates with more likes on this message.

its not as fun as the reviews say. The presentation and concept is nice; a turned based strategy allowing free movement... but for some reason a turn based strategy game needs to have squares. I also didn't like the units in the game that much, compared to the units I have commanded in the following strategy games. Having played fire emblem series, advance wars, front wars, and practically every other turn based strategy game out there which weren't memorable for me to recall, i feel the bar for fun and strategy on the iOS was set by Hero Academy. The part where this was better than Hero Academy was the single player story mode, but even with the catchy story the gameplay was not that fun. I doubt most of the reviewers who gave the game these extremely high ratings played the game through to the end. I forced myself to play this several for several weeks to justify my purchase and find a an unforseen value as described by the critics, but I felt my time was irrevocably wasted. I find it very suspicious that the 5 positive ratings have no associated reviews. Conclusion: Aesthetically pleasing but can new free movement turn-based gameplay can not overcome more entertaining, creative, and clever gameplay found in other turned based strategy games.

This is a cross between starcraft and scrabble. Its the best version of a modern day chess I've ever seen. I tried every other title which claimed to be the "ultimate turned based strategy game"and probably gave up midway through 2013 accepting this as the best since I have so many of my friends loving this game too. Its very well balanced with its array of 6 teams: the teams are very diverse with a unique theme that really distinguishes itself, each with beautifully animated powers and abilities yet, the winning ratio for the teams is the same. If you some competitive friends who like turn based strategy, it does not get better than this. Introduced this game to about 20 of my friends throughout 2012 and 2013, and we've all been playing ever since. Challenge me if your interested in learning the ropes: sevenstyx. Prevents me from getting any work done for almost two and a half years lol come to think of it this game is awful.

This is a cross between starcraft and scrabble. Its the best version of a modern day chess I've ever seen. I tried every other title which claimed to be the "ultimate turned based strategy game"and continue to buy many games to experiment. But i don't think I will ever stop playing this game, I enjoy it so much and I have so many of my friends loving this game too I can't abandon them. Its a classic like chess but even better. Very well balanced with its array of 6 teams: the teams are very diverse with a very original theme that really distinguishes itself from the other teams, each with beautifully animated and unique powers and abilities yet, the winning ratio for the teams is the same. If you have some competitive friends who like turn based strategy, it does not get better than this. Introduced this game to about 30 of my friends throughout 2012 and 2013, and we've all been playing ever since (this is a 2014 update). This game ****. If you've played plants vs zombies, i can't see how this is enjoyable. The pacing is just so, boring and frustrating. The achievements aren't real achievments but made to stretch the game out when you repeat the stage so you can get more money. This is not stimulating at all. I do not like this game. What a waste of 3 bucks. I hate how these critic reviews lure me in to get some games that are not very good. Maybe my standard is way higher after playing a game like Hoplite last week which has 8 bit graphics but top notch game play 10/10. Sorcery and Hero Academy are good games too. This game ****. Do NOT waste your money.

Wow, what a game. Do yourself a favor and play Demon's Souls before you start this game. I promised you'll thank me for it. Has the best combat and an amazing atmosphere with a perfectly balanced difficulty from the days of old like the castlevania on the NES. A masterpiece realized.

This game is super fun. So many different ways to upgrade th 20+ characters you can select, each with numerous different charactersitics and powers. So many different enemies. So under the radar. iOS gaming at its best.

Excellent game. If you're in to D&D this comes closer than any game on iOS, for a legitimate one player adventure (you can pick up companions). My only gripe is they need to take away the replay option. Such an option keeps making me want to cheat and I lost my interest in playing after awhile.

it might be a great board game it doesn't seem like it), but its a pretty boring ipad game. I tried learning the game on youtube and watched an indepth review of the board game to get better acquainted before i started playing, but that didn't really enhance the experience. I got this b/c i used to be a D&D fan, and i like board games, and have bought lots of Ipad and Iphone games just to see if they live up to their reviews. This is one of those purchases, where I feel like Homer Simpson when he goes Doh! Does not give you any of that D&D feel I was anticipating. I've been playing all sorts of strategical games on the ipad like Skulls of the Shogun and Hero Academy, doesn't give you any of that feeling either. Playing other opponents feels so disconnected, you might as well be playing your foot.. Collecting wizards, fighters, and rogues **** complete quest, but not actually using them or giving them any role play value seems pointless to me, might as well call them red square and blue square, which they do. This game is not fun, and I'm kind of annoyed at the high price and don't want other people to lose their money pointlessly like I did.

I've played like every iOS game, and this game is excellent. Captures the D&D essence (not necessarily the rules) better than any game on the ipad, The writing is good, the art is good, that combat is fun, the spells are interesting, the amount of choices you get to make in the game are stressful in a good way and overwhelming. My only complaint is its too short, but I heard the next one is quite long so that should make up for it.

Played for 20 minutes. I was under the blankets but I stood up in my chonies in the cold since this game had the highest reviews (it makes you stand up to play). After 20 minutes, i was bored. It was kind of atmospheric, but it needs to do more in that first 15 minutes to not make me want to try another game. now i'm gonna try device 6...5 minutes in it seems better and creepier. i suspect these positive "reviews" are not real users, but posted by the developers. Although I do give them props for using the voice of Sean Bean. That was one of the reasons I bought the game even.

This game isn't bad, its just, the first one beats it in several ways. There's the better story with the evil doctor, there is a cool boss fight at the end. The night and day, along with the pool areas differences as well as the roof transitions from PART 1 seemed to have a more meaningful and emotional impact than the transitioning between different time periods in PART 2. Something is lost from part 1 and I can't put my finger on it, but PART 2 is LESS fun, yet still fun because it retains the core element of the game. They should have done more "Yeti" type characters, but that was a tiny improvement in the game. The way they asked you to spend money in the first game made me want to but things more. I beat the game without spending any money, and it wasn't as fun. Cmon EA, find the original creator and put him back to **** guys can do better than this.
