I went to the Steam Summer sale and saw all the aaa discounted games but felt like a kid at the Blockbuster video store,all these games but not many I am interested in,the only one that stood out for me was Black Mesa,I love the hl2 engine,the hl2 game and I was yearning for more single player first person shooter story gaming goodness and I wasn’t let down. This game is fantastic,the ai are smart,the locales are very atmospheric and pull you in to the game but the sound is incredible,the crispyness of the weapons sounds,the cavernous sounds when you go through tunnels or big underground rooms,the voice acting. For me,this is the best game I have played for a long time and actually outdoes the original. All who worked on the development should be congratulated. And this game does not cost a ransom either,it is a true labour of love,not contrived in any way,just pure perfection.

Great game marred by horrendous controls which kills the game for me. The open world is amazing and the graphics are great but it lacks the polish and the voice acting which is amateur. The controls are designed exclusively for the "hardcore" set who like to walk 1 step back before they walk 2 steps forward so alot of management involved for simple tasks. If you can get through that,then the game will open up for you but expect to be frustrated in the short term.

This is the closest in the modern age you will get to Freelancer.Music is great,Graphics are great and combat is fun and the trading is more streamlined and intuitive unloike borefests like the X series. I found myself addictive to this game. The controls aren't quite as precise as Freelancers but the whole game has a similar feel. Great view in this game also.

This is a trading game with a Space UI. If you like being bored to tears with the empty landscapes and confusing interface and nothing plot or storyline you must be one boring chap and this is the perfect game for you. Every station you dock in has the same voiceovers,the scenery looks cut and paste fo each sector you go in,and trading,odear. Look I don't mind trading if they made i tfun but this bored me to tears and I spent hours not having a clue how to make money.Like I said it's perfect for those people who study stocks or spreadsheets. For the true space sim fan,you will be bored to the inch of your life.
