It's no Left 4 Dead, but it's a decent zombie game with quite a few issues. AI teammates are pretty worthless. ex: lurker (hunter) leaps at you and have a 99% chance on landing on you even though they should have missed. They fly through doors and will also fly backwards and land on you. The Bull or Juggernaut turn at angles when charging and also bounce off stuff and get you even though they shouldn't be able to. Enemies will spawn right on top of you as well. Zombie hit range is ridiculous, they will hit you when they are nowhere near you. Bugs such as the gate opening and then closing on you when you are trying to escape the last part of the map (Tech Support), and (Brain Surgery) where the npc will teleport back get overrun but you can't save him because you can't climb back to that area and you lose.
After finishing this game I can say it is one of the worst pieces of crap that I have ever played. There are so many things wrong with this game it is ridiculous. Animals can leap and attack you from over 10 feet away (even from the other side of a small hill) and they do not even need to touch you to actually hurt you. You can stand right in front of an animal and shoot at it point blank and still miss. Everything about this game is atrocious from the graphics to the game play. I cannot even give this horrible thing a 1. I consider it to be broken. It would take all day to list the problems this game has. Graphics would be a kin to last generation console graphics. Game play and controls are horrible. It has no replay value at all. Do not waste your time on this. If all Cabela games play like this, do not even bother picking any up. Money would be better spent picking up Duke Nukem Forever. (Yes, this game is that bad.)
This game is a big improvement of the last few iterations. Mortal Kombat fans should pick this game up. The game overall is well done; they put some time and thought into this game. I am disappointed that they did not include an exclusive character for the Xbox 360, and they lead us on until after the game was released. They do not even have the decency to let us know why. Did MS not want one (doubtful)? Did Sony and WB make some sort of agreement? Money was pretty much involved in some way. I would have given the game a 7.5 - 8.0 if it wasn't for them leading us to think that they were going to put in a Xbox exclusive character. Also for coming and saying they wanted to but will not tell us why.
Pretty typical JRPG, but the re-release with improvements and extra content on the PS3 without DLC to add to the Xbox 360 version was basically a slap in the face to their supporters. Not going to be one anymore; game offers little enjoyment unless you are a fan of the series.
If you liked the first one, you should enjoy it as well. Graphics are good and overall experience with the game was fun. They hosed Xbox 360 user again, just like they did with the first one. Should have expected it; not going to bother buying the third iteration of this game new, since they will probably do the same thing again. May be a rental or buy used. Not going to bother supporting Tecmo any more until they stop this crap.
Overall game experience is similar to the first one. One of the better survival horror series out there. Would have given it a higher score if there was more value associated with it. I bought the collector's edition, but found out that the PS3 version had an additional game included with it for the same price. Same crap with Dante's Inferno. Some damn developer as well, Visceral Games. Of course this could have been EA's decision, which makes it even worse. Most of their games sell better on the Xbox 360, but they alienate do this crap to them. I wouldn't have wasted my money on the collector's edition if I knew about it before hand; my fault there. Not going to waste any more money on companies that do this. I'll just rent or buy used.
