I only play this because I have game pass. If I didn't, I wouldn't touch this. I am only here because I cannot even play the game. I find myself trying to boot the game up around once a week. For years it has been this way consistently and it is beyond infuriating: 1. Launch game 2. Be told to restart game 3. Launch game again 4. Be told to download MASSIVE update (for SKINS I hate) 5. Finally launch game, and it runs like garbage because now shaders are loading that take 30 minutes to compile and you cannot play until it does What on earth is this? No other game suffers from this nonsense.

Kept picking this up and setting it down. I've enjoyed it more since accepting it's not a space sim, it's an RPG with space sim elements. Pros: World design, voice acting, freedom of choice, missions, guns, crafting, base building, fleet management. Both a pro and a con: open world exploration. Immense as an add on to the core RPG but falls flat if you're expecting as much out of it as you get from other space sims. Yes, there are repeated elements and world exploration is procedural in a drab way, but, if you see this as an add-on to the core RPG it's a vast and immersive backdrop to a rich world. Cons: bugs that break the game, characters clipping out, and difficulty curves that make no sense. The interface design is clunky in a way that feels like a complete afterthought: no user experience was considered it seems. It's too easy to get caught in meaningless loops. Like...I've restarted, I picked up some contraband, and I can't really figure out where to go to sell it, and now that I have a bounty most systems I go into I get attacked right away without any way to surrender, etc. It's just too big **** for what seems like designers who are used to linear gameplay. Conclusion: it is a good game; I'm getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. It could be a great game if some additional effort was put into the things that matter. There is so much that gets in the way of the things it does well.

Pros: * Fun campaign, you can play with friends * Limited amount of guns, so you can actually predict and master them * Skins and customization that is fun and isn't designed to milk every commercial interest possible and ruin the spirit of the game * Battlepasses you keep and can beat at your own pace, I don't lose my money * You can configure matchmaking to favor connection quality over skill matching Cons: * Campaign isn't too memorable

I initially gave this a 1, and came back to give it a 0. I've sunk a lot of time into this game because my friends play it. I've put so many fun and worthwhile hours into this franchise over the years and this game feels like the death of it. It's plagued by far too many guns and configurations to where if you're not playing the meta you have no chance. It's shoot first, die first. There's no benefit to experimenting and playing around. It's plagued with so many weird skins and sweaty jumpshot players it simply isn't fun anymore. I'm so sick of being jump shotted by some sweaty tree guy while I get spawn camped by Nikki Minaj, I don't even know what the point is. This game used to be slick, fun, and had enough content you could flex around and get comfortable with it. I would have fun if I won or lost. This game feels awful even when I'm winning. This is a 70 dollar skin pack on a broken game. If the next release is anything like this one, I really hate that I may have to tell my friends I'm done playing, I will not follow. I barely followed into this release. If I sit down to play a game, I want to have a good time. This game is not it.

I've gotten a lot of value and fun out of this game, and sunk a ton of hours into it after the short time I've owned it. Despite me not being interested, the campaign actually was memorable. The leveling system and the sheer amount of things to do keeps me coming back. If I get bored with an already immersive end game I can start another character and enjoy the grind all over again. The worst part about it is the whiny community of people who have tanked 1000+ hours into the game and then claim they hate it.

A horror puzzle platformer with a beautiful atmospheric style. Limbo is memorable and every progression is rewarding and delightful. When you're not engrossed in figuring out the puzzle you'll find yourself admiring the attention to detail and the way the minimalistic aesthetics feel rich and realistic. The only drawback is that sometimes it was difficult to distinguish interactive elements from the world. Eventually you learn to try everything but I found myself baffled only to realize I could interact with an item I had been dying next to repeatedly.

Novel, beautiful, and extremely fun to explore. This is a metroidvania style platformer with a pinball mechanic. The entire world has an attention to detail and feels meticulously hand-crafted which makes it fun to explore and even retrace your steps (which you do a lot in metroidvania style games). It's a perfect game to sit back and relax with.
