So what makes "Wild Cards" special, in other words, is that its characters are delightfully normal.

What works so well about Wild Cards Season 2 in the first three episodes provided for review is that this overarching plot doesn't supersede the "problem of the week" format, or push Max and Cole's swoony flirtation to the backburner. Instead, it acts as a wonderful complementary balance to those other elements, adding dimension to their personal and professional relationship as the three develop in tandem, setting the stage for a second season with higher professional, personal, and yes, even romantic stakes than the first.

Surprisingly good. It's an old school con artist meets straight edge cop episodic television series. Each episode is a standalone crime of the week but every once in a while they'll integrate into the ongoing seasonal plot. It reminds me a lot of the cop dramas we used to get pre-2015 with shows like White Collar, Justified and The Mentalist. The only real difference is that this show only has about 12 episodes per seasons whilst older shows got 22+.

Other than an unbelievable beginning premise, the show is actually reasonably good. The leads play off each other well and they're both likable. The stories are ok for mysteries so, all in all, we'd rate this: "go ahead and watch because it's better than most."

We like Wild Cards because it’s a “good silly” kind of show. The things that are ridiculous about it don’t distract from our enjoyment of it, mostly thanks to a good supporting cast and good chemistry between Morgan and Gianniotti.

Though only two episodes of the series were provided for this review, those were enough to determine that the series is built on a fairly solid foundation, and should continue to thrive and find its audience should they avoid the temptation to try and fit a network TV procedural peg into a prestige TV-sized hole.

Even with its corny dialogue and predictable beats, Wild Cards is still an extremely enjoyable time, especially if you have been missing the kind of breezy, easy-viewing shows networks like USA and The CW of olde once provided.

Enter Wild Cards, a show that is just fine. It is not reinventing the wheel, nor is it even coming anywhere close to perfecting the wheel, at least in these first couple of episodes. But it's hitting those old familiar beats that are enjoyable, even soothing, to watch, with very pleasant and likable characters at its core.

It could be a great show if he would get a personality she's doing all the talking and all the work All he does is make life hard for her. If he could lighten up and flirt a little bit the show would be so much better. Right now I'm bored there needs to be some sparks between the two of them
