All involved are dedicated to the cause of making Vikings one of television’s most striking series. It’s also emerged as one of the best, evolving from a guilty pleasure at first to a first-rate tale of substance and even subtlety mixed with the cold steel of primal warfare.

Be glad that Hirst has 20 episodes to escort Bjorn to his throne – and relieved that he has demonstrated his ability and willingness to take the proper amount of time and care to do justice to his characters, real or legendary. We can never be certain about how well a series will nail the ending, but at least with “Vikings,” the fandom’s faith can lean on a firmer foundation based in history and demonstrated skill as opposed to spectacle and whim. And we hope any questions it leaves us with, gods willing, will be worth ruminating upon.

Vikings è una serie davvero bella, intensa e fatta bene. Ti prende subito per le battaglie, ma soprattutto per la storia e i ****, che sono profondi e realistici. Non è solo guerra: ci sono tradimenti, crescita personale e scelte difficili che ti tengono incollato. La cosa che colpisce di più è l’atmosfera: sembra davvero di essere in quell’epoca. Inoltre, il protagonista Ragnar è uno di quei **** che non dimentichi facilmente. Non è perfetta in tutto, soprattutto nelle ultime stagioni, ma resta una serie che vale assolutamente la pena guardare.

Favored storylines get sufficient weight and heft, but balancing its disparate narratives has never been Vikings’ strong suit, and though it feels as though there’s a definite endgame in mind, the middle can occasionally be rough going. Still, with a cast as game as ever and plenty of plot to slash through, this year’s Vikings promises a sometimes-messy season as swiftly entertaining as the last.

It’s flawed, with the kinds of cheesy trappings and historical freedoms that turn off some viewers.... But the series is nonetheless transporting in its way, largely because it doesn’t try too hard to soften or civilize the characters.

Mostly, though, Vikings is disappointing because so much of the component parts are good but are ill served by flabby direction and a gassy script.

Season 1-3: 9/10 One of the best historical series.
Season 4: 8/10 Should have ended it right there.
Season 5: 6/10 Boring and stupid but has it’s monents.
Season 6: 3/10 Complete disaster, more like fantasy then historical-fiction, boring and frustrating characters without any motivations or logic. Haven’t seen this dissapointment and freakshow since GOT S8.
P.S.: Watch The Last Kingdom, it’s Vikings just without dissapointments.

I don't understand how this show got such good reviews. The dialog and plot seems like it was written by a teenage boy. It is not terrible but definitely not a great show.

Starts out well with enjoyable characters, but over embellishments for dramatic effect and rushed ending ruined it for me..dont waste your time
