The best new comedy of 2025. [14 Apr - 4 May 2025, p.4]

The most entertaining and spot-on depiction of Hollywood since Robert Altman’s “The Player.” Granted, that’s high praise, but Rogen and Goldberg, who also direct the 10-episode series, swing for the fences with one home run after another. They are aided by stellar scripts and an ensemble of actors who are having an utter blast.

I love this. Incredibly funny and cool cameos. Amazing cast and Seth Rogen has really proved himself as a writer with this one,.

This show is great... the humor, the cameos. It really pokes fun at the entire movie industry from top to bottom. But what really sets it above the rest is the beautiful cinematography and the amazing looooong one-take shots. Seriously, each episode might be limited to 4-5 takes. It's just makes you really respect these comedians' acting abilities when you actually see it. I hope it wins lots of awards.

“The Studio” becomes an often screamingly funny series through the course of its first season, making it the best new comedy series of 2025 so far.

“The Studio” is a lavish spectacle about how lavish spectacles came to be an endangered species. On occasion, this dissonance can be distracting. .... But for the most part, “The Studio” leads by example. It’s the funny, glitzy, audacious output of a distinct creative vision.

A fizzy, acidic send-up of movie-industry shenanigans, The Studio has a flat stretch or two, but is largely triumphantly funny, as Rogen chomps joyfully on the hand that feeds him.

Seth Rogen’s showbiz satire The Studio has lots of cool cameos, but gets too caught up in Hollywood lore to be consistently entertaining.

Occasionally, a line will land. .... But more generally, “The Studio” is missing a point of view that goes deeper than “the zany absurdity of it all — that’s showbiz!”

seth rogen deserves all the credit he gets and more. taking influence from madness like mad men & atlanta he weaves a story relatable for every aspiring creator or film maker. a fibonacci paced staccato of episodes that leave you with distinct impressions of each character, their ambitions and the synchronicities they all provide in collaboration through the struggle - something all big productions require. if you value the world of CINEMA you'll be impressed again, for you know who never fails? seth rogen

Disappointing toothless satire. The main character is a egotistical buffoon but not in an entertaining way, he's just an annoying putz. Watch the '99 series 'Action' to see this done well. Peter Dragon was a monster, but a compelling and amusing character.

Ititially interesting, but I found the repeated madcap stupidity annoying...

Nothing about this show can be called inspired satire. It lacks teeth and depth and sadly is not nearly as funny as it could be.

The pilot was promising, however episode two was not only bad but extremely irritating. Three wasn't very good either. Over acted, poorly directed and written.
