Maxxx serves as the TV equivalent of a summer beach read, as well as delightful proof of Fagbenle’s wide range of talents — this is the show he wanted to make, and it’s good silly fun. At this moment in time, that’s very, very welcome.

Fame costs, and "Maxxx" spells out of the truth in that statement on several levels. That doesn't make a taxing view. On the contrary, the lithe runtime is designed to maximize impact while minimizing one's attention expenditure, making it as easy to breeze right by the little barbs as it is to binge.

Maxxx is ferocious in its mockery of fame and the craving for it. The flip, funny six-episode series gives us a washed-up boy-band star, the titular Maxxx.

Maxxx is a breezily charming new entry into the canon of U.K. cringe comedy.

As a comic creation Maxxx is not as gloriously daft as Jamie Demetriou’s Stath in Stath Lets Flats or as pathetically deluded as The Office’s David Brent; he’s not, therefore, nearly as funny, either. But there is reason to trust in Fagbenle’s feel for his own character ... As the series progresses, what we lose in belly laughs might be made up in poignant moments or savage satirical insights.

If you want to watch a cringey but hilarious show about the music business, go find Dave, which is also on Hulu. Maxxx will just make you cringe.

I loved the fast paced, fresh, trendy feel of this show. The music used, the lighting, the outfits all felt so on trend and the cast was very diverse. The writing is very amusing. I could definitely watch a second series.
