Season 2 of Human Resources is the perfect example of how "elevated" humor doesn’t always need to be highbrow. You can include sex jokes, bathroom humor, nonsense, and all kinds of “lower” comedy and still manage to tell heartfelt and riveting stories in the same series — all while being funny as hell within your own context thanks to set-ups, punchlines, callbacks, and everything that makes comedy great.

Human Resources not only crafts funnier moments and stronger stories [than Big Mouth], but it also creates more delicious chaos around the emotions and hormonal imbalances its various monsters and creatures are meant to represent, saying even more about how we as humans relate to our feelings.

This show is pretty good but a definite step down from Big Mouth. Keeping the focus on the monsters is a less rewarding experience because the balance between the two worlds is what made Big Mouth great.

If you're a fan of Big Mouth, this show is basically the equivalent of a cake made entirely out of frosting. The monsters are great in Big Mouth because they add a layer of absurdity and extravagance. When you strip out the core, you're not left with any balance to that. Even then, it could work if the monsters themselves had enough appealing, well-formed characters, but none of the new characters are particularly interesting, and the ones we know lose a lot without their human counterparts.

Familiarity with Big Mouth may bring in viewers, but Human Resources’ distinctive humor and commentary on humanity will keep them watching.

Consequence
Human Resources introduces the brash, imaginative, and at times, genuinely insane comedy that Big Mouth boasts, once again taking weighty, vulnerable topics and exploring them with bombast and (perhaps a little too much) confidence.

Human Resources proves that there’s both comedy and poignancy yet to be mined from the impulse-creature conceit, even if it can’t fully expunge the aura of being an arbitrary spin-off.

Human Resources is by no means a bad show. If you love Big Mouth, it has the same humor and characters that first made you a fan. But it’s also not a show that lives up to its full potential.

Human Resources Season 1 was abominably bad, and this season continues the streak. There’s nothing wrong at all with even the most disgustingly raunchy comedy, but this series takes it so far beyond that it turns back in on itself in terms of how bad it is. Its characters are unlikeable, its story unentertaining, and its jokes unfunny.

I kinda like the first 3 or 4 season of Big Mouth but this spin-off is not funny at all and I can see that hey incorporated in the plot a lot of woke **** just for the sake of it... I am glad it got cancelled tbh.

I hated Big Mouth so its no surprise to me I didn't like this. Reminds me of Family Guy, which I also don't care for.

I like what Big Mouth has become: more clever and topical vs its early seasons. But this spinoff is unnecessary, painfully unfunny, and too female dominated (women simply aren't funny). The main character is horribly unlikable and I don't want to see if that improves over time because it's not entertaining in any way. Waste of time for everyone involved.
