Don't be fooled by the fake reviews, this is political/social programming and extremely low quality TV. Almost all the positive reviews are fake AI bot reviews and they paid off the critics to get a 10/10 Rotten tomatoes rating. Social manipulation like this should be illegal. Within just a few episodes, they try to control your views on so many different 'social issues'. Illegal immigrant driver nearly gets killed and has a dashboard video of it, but the theme is it's okay he didn't report it to the police because THEY might get deported. Don't worry about another person dying, you might get booted back to Africa! Let em die! And they do these types of scenes in groups so there is a subconscious 'majority votes' feeling to it. Nah, I want illegals out EXACTLY because of stuff like this. They play loud 'boomer' music, from the 70-90's to trick stoned fat and short guys into thinking they are having fun, like dizzy toddlers. Every episode has like 4-6 songs and boring montages wasting screentime in the most obvious way to run out the clock. Filmmakers and directors nowadays know that their main audience is boomers and the new breed of low attention span social media addicts. It has been studied that the new generation of teens and adults literally have a 1.2 second attention span, so there are no longer slow and suspenseful scenes in TV and movies which require higher intellect to digest. Other than that, the entire series makes no sense at all. Dexter dodges Batista by literally running out, a few scenes later he has a new state ID and an easily findable truck and apartment in his name. Dexter isn't even being sloppy, he's being stupid. He's on camera all over the hotel when there is a 'smart detective' checking all the cameras. The drink drugging scene is also completely stupid, the bar wasn't even that packed, and it's a nice hotel. At least 1 person, especially the bartender who probably gets massive tips at a luxury hotel, would be keeping his eye on a wealthy man showing off for a pretty girl. If that's her first drink, she literally just got to the bar with that guy. The whole series is just absolutely horrible. Every single female character, even the single middle aged latina mother, is displayed a a 'girl boss'. Uma Therman as a thuglord is some of the worst casting I've ever seen. If you are a complete idiot, you might enjoy this series.

This long-running series could have had such a great ending. My only disappointment was that one story continued in a different way. I hope it's a work that will leave you with a good taste.

This was incredible — honestly, one of the best experiences I've ever had with a series. In my opinion, it's even better than the original Dexter series. These so-called "professionals" or critics clearly don’t know what they’re talking about.
The sheer quality of the acting alone makes this a masterpiece. Every character brought depth and authenticity that you rarely see in television. On top of that, the character development and action were executed perfectly, creating a story that’s impossible to rate poorly — unless someone has a personal vendetta against the actors or the production team.

Conseguiram trazer Dexter das cinzas. Depois da sexta temporada da série original e de Dexter: New Blood, fizeram uma temporada tão boa quanto as quatro primeiras. Superou todas as minhas expectativas. Cada episódio era melhor do que o outro. Espero que a segunda temporada se mantenha no mesmo nível.

Now that the 10 episodes are out, I can finally say that Dexter: Resurrection is the best season in Dexter's universe overall. All the episodes deliver very high quality (with episode 9 standing out as my favorite Dexter episode ever). The cast is great, the script is tightly connected, the plot is intriguing and the pace is very pleasant. They did it. The bar was set pretty high and I wish this to be a long-term series. Dexter is definitely back.

It's great that Dexter is still going. This is a better season (so far) than New Blood, although it is still not exactly the most brilliantly written show in the world -- full of nonsensical absurdities, mostly in order for the characters to be able to get away with all that they do. A guilty pleasure, as it's always been. Turn that brain off, grab some popcorn, and enjoy.

Loving this season so far. I was a few weeks behind and binged-watched the first 6 episodes. So happy Dexter is back, and the NYC setting adds another layer. This and Original Sin have been a pleasant surprise!

THIS is peak television. The acting, the writing, the suspense, the nostalgia. First Blood was just “meh”, but it set up this season perfectly and had to retroactively undo all of the mistakes from the end of the original series. This show somehow even greatly enhances some of the terrible writing choices from the end of the original show run. Either way, I’m stoked to see the end and with “Original Sin” also being great last year, Dexter fans are all along for the ride.

No way critics rated this 63, did they even watch? Just because the series is not catering to new norms doesn't mean this is bad. This has been one of the best prequels I remember in a while. They are not killing the old humor while adding subtle changes to it, and that's the right way to proceed, in my opinion.

(edited, after seeing episodes 5 and six ive increased my score. The show is a phenominal return to class.)
The writing has been well planned and natural, and the mistakes made in new blood have all been learned from, while keeping the cinematic tone. The music is great, all the cast have performed well so far, Harrison especially is continuing to show he is a top-notch actor, only now his writing and direction is good for a change. Also, every throwback to the original series has been excellently crafted.
There are moments where it seems a cut was rushed, and the new detective is awkward at times, but I get what they're going for—a detective who is good instead of lucky, and probably has her own little passenger.
All in all, I'm three episodes in and really enjoying the show. Highly recommend it to any dexter fans.

The first three episodes are like a start to a new album from an older band you will never stop listening to. And you already know it's going to be a good album.
The social commentary is not as exceptional as many other TV-series, but it never was for Dexter. In many ways it's similar to music album: you just love to see it and appreciate it for what it is, hoping it never ends while also waiting for a perfect conclusion.
The first three episodes contain a lot of "favors" to the fans, something they did not want to give that much in New Blood.
The season is very refreshing and make's a long-time fan happy for some good TV.

I think it's fantastic not only did it tie up the Loose Ends from other shows it also branched out a new areas and keeping some of the positive things about the original Dexter in sight for them to be able to build on and make his character even stronger as far as Harrison is concerned they will be able to Branch out on that character as well following in his Father's Footsteps basically we'll just have to see whether he has it or not I think this is going to be the beginning **** series let's shoot for eight more seasons!

They made Harrison more sympathetic and fixed the bad Ending of Dexter: New Blood. They already made a great plot in the first two episodes. I feared this show will kill the franchise. It turns out to be really good.

Dexter has never been a great show. Not TRULY great. The writing is flat out bad at times, the plots get very silly at times, and a fair amount of what they do doesn't work THAT well. And yet...... We have Michael C Hall. Let's face it, he IS Dexter (we all know part of what brought this show back is that he can't act in anything else without being thought of as Dexter). And HE IS truly great. The show is, and always has been, worthy of watching for him alone. The new season, along with the entirety of Dexter's history, has "YESSS" moments, and also plenty of "huh?" moments to balance the quality out. 8/10 now, and forever.
