At launch this seemed to be getting really good scores, so being an OG Dexter fan I gave it a try. The first episode was pretty crummy with the mostly dreadful exposition, and tbh I havent got any motivation to try more.

I’m cool with the politics and love The Boys. But acting performances can be weak. Everyone uses ‘****’ as punctuation which is wearing. The characters are all generally dislikeable and self absorbed. it has its moments but it’s not great. I’ll watch to the end of season but might think twice about watching another.

2 shows in and I'm a bit underwhelmed. It's ok, but if you have played the game, it does feel a little bit like you've seen it all before.

Seasons 1 and 2 were masterpieces. This is absolutely terrible. What happened?

Lost is one of my all time shows and I was extremely excited about this! Started really well, but sadly I found as the season went on it's turned out to be a bit more lightweight than I was expecting. It's alright but not great.

A truly excellent show. Absolutely no flab - every sentence is there for a reason. Perfectly written and acted.

Attractive supporting illustrations try to help along a truly bland true crime story. The last episode is a relative highlight, but I wouldn't recommened this unless you are desperate.

Can't understand the good critical reviews. Laughable shark jumping story and full of obnoxious chavvy characters. So, so bad.

I just cannot understand the scores on this. Neo conservative pro American cringe script is truly cringeworthy at times 'this is what happens when you mess with a marine!'. Quite slow to progress the script, too. I've pushed through all of season 1 as my gf enjoys it ironically (she thinks it's terrible, too, but in a good way).

Acting is Oscar level, especially from lead. But from S2 onwards it becomes a liberal, fantasy-style rewrite of history, (where although accents+clothing and surroundings stay true to history), gay and mixed ethnic relationships are openly tolerated, and men are for the most part portrayed as evil , passive or dumb. I am a liberal voter, but this odd portmanteau of historical fact and progressive ethics made me strangely uncomfortable.

Painfully politically correct, modern accents in olden times, and in parts incredibly slow. Eps 1+2 were poor, but Episode 3 is flat out unwatchable.

Season 1 amazing. Season 2 crashed and burned hard, far too little plot progression. Didn't bother with Season 3.

Season 1 was one of the best shows I have seen for years, an absolute instant classic. Sadly season 2 has been really baggy and a bit of a mess. Early episodes seemed pretty good, but by the middle it was sagging, with random incidents and a lack of coherent plot. It actually took us weeks to get round to the watching last few episodes, the magic had gone. Hoping it refinds its form.

Badly scripted, predictable. Really awful cheap sets. Can't understand the good feedback on this.

Started off quite well but by episode 5 it has become completely lame. Great acting but a really un-twisty plot filled with red top vigilantism. Very disappointed.
