Quintel’s work has grown up a little too. Women play a larger part here than in “Regular Show,” which was mostly dudes hanging out. And much of what makes the series sing happens between Walsh and the ink-and-paint person she inhabits; indeed, Emily is the most developed, lifelike character here.

It’s very silly, very extreme, and very entertaining. But unlike Regular Show, Close Enough consistently channels its random energy and silly characters to make a bigger, more interesting point.

A great continuation of animated shorts following J.G. Quintels Regular Show. Does not disappoint in the quality and creative universe he has been accustomed to producing. Close Enough is sure to go down as one of the greatest animated short series just like Regular Show has.

While I’m still waiting for Close Enough to do something a little different to separate itself from the pack and avoid being lost to the archives of forgotten animated sitcoms, it’s a fine watch in the meantime, especially for fans of Quintel’s work.

Close Enough has enough sharp gags and snappy commentary on its world to keep viewers interested, even as it sort of overwhelms itself.

Not every “bit” on “Close Enough” works, but even when it misses the mark with its broad sense of humor, I admired the commitment. ... It’s definitely a solid diversion every now and then when you fire up HBO Max.

Without loving Close Enough, I found the show close enough to effective that the eight episodes I watched went by quickly. I'll be curious to see how the series and Quintel continue to evolve and mature.

Loved Regular Show and this seems to be that but with more freedom and creativity. Even though I cannot relate with the show all the time, the implied jokes and themes are extremely funny and has just the right of amount of weirdness for me. Also keep and eye out for Regular Show references as well

Great show, I've been waiting for it to come out ever since I heard it was announced (3 years ago.) It's the perfect show for any fan of Regular Show, hits many of the same random notes you'd expect. The humor is a fantastic, never have I laughed so hard watching a grown man skateboard down a hill 50-50 grinding with his taint!

JG Quintel fans won't be disappointed. The humor is still there and his team still has it. It's more mature and heartwarming than Regular Show, but only because of its limited relatable demographic, which is people between 25-35. If you are a fan, two thumbs way up and mandatory watch! otherwise, this show will make you smile the whole time and make you laugh out loud only in certain scenes

Great show for regular show fans, but needs more depth next season if it wants to rope in new viewers

I only made it through 1 episode, it was a bunch of nonsense gunk, like spongebob. no attention span required but that only works if the jokes land
