A risible attempt to modernise classic science-fiction by adding WhatsApp and political chicanery. This thin, frenetic, soulless adaptation is misguided moviemaking cubed.

It is silly, shoddy and features far too much of rapper-turned-leading man Ice Cube staring at a computer screen while looking as if he’s working through a reasonably urgent digestive ailment. Like a heat-ray in reverse, it leeches all the fun out of what should be an epic tale of alien invasion.

This War of the Worlds isn’t bad or even so-bad-it’s-good. It’s a secret third thing, a hodgepodge of shoddy CGI and dead-eyed reaction shots from Ice Cube that make you feel like you can identify individual brain cells mid-death cycle.

Not as bad as people say it is.. it has some great deep hidden messages in it, although it has a huge Amazon ad in it lmao. Ice Cube is giving his best to keep me interested. If the movie wouldnt be named War of the Worlds then there would be less hate.. giving it 9 because people are hating so hard for no reason

Sometimes critics tear a movie apart so much that it gets buried before anyone gives it a fair chance. That’s what happened with this new version of War of the Worlds, starring Ice Cube. It’s true that the film isn’t brilliant, that the lack of budget is obvious, and that some choices border on the absurd. But it’s also true that it isn’t nearly as terrible as people claim. In fact, it has curious moments and a layer of entertainment that, if you approach it with the right mindset, works better than **** decision to lean on the “Screenlife” format, with characters connected through screens and networks, isn’t exactly original, but it keeps the story moving. Borrowed from other recent films, this device blends with the classic alien invasion tale, creating something awkward but oddly engaging. The script doesn’t always hold up, and the tech details feel like they came out of a half-baked tutorial, yet this mess produces an unintentional comic relief that prevents the film from becoming **** Cube carries most of the weight. His performance won’t make history, but his presence holds the film together. Sometimes he looks lost in front of green screens, reacting to things that clearly aren’t there, yet he still brings a certain warmth that keeps you watching. In a way, this feels like a showcase for him—and watching him face off against aliens and hackers with little more than a click has its own **** blatant product placement, especially Amazon saving the day with drones and gift cards, has been one of the film’s most criticized aspects. Honestly, it’s not that bad. Advertising has always been part of cinema, and here its over-the-top use only adds another reason to take the film as what it really is: light, almost self-parodying entertainment. If we can laugh at seeing Pascual or Movistar in ads, why not laugh at a drone saving humanity?Of course, some moments fall apart: weak visual effects, flat secondary characters, and a script that tries to critique our dependence on data but never develops the idea. Still, within that clumsiness, there’s a kind of guilty pleasure. It’s not Wells’ epic vision or a grand blockbuster, but it’s not the total disaster some make it out to **** the end, Ice Cube’s War of the Worlds is a flawed movie, but it has spark. It’s fast to watch, filled with moments that provoke (mostly unintentional) laughs, and works as cheap afternoon entertainment. Many bigger productions are far more boring. Here, at least, there’s an attempt to play with form, and the result—while far from memorable—is more enjoyable than its bad reputation suggests.

I think this picture was so mediocre that most people (who were able to get through it) missed the message: All of us are being watched and monitored. Oh yes. Don’t kid yourself. I’ve known this for years and everybody said I was crazy and here we are: being replaced by robots, governments harbouring secrets, big companies being cyber attacked and held for ransom. This is real, people. It’s happening. It’s been happening for a long time. Let this movie enlighten you on the bigger picture. Movies like this is the perfect excuse for the government to say “don’t say you weren’t warned!” That being said, let the Raspberry Awards commence!

I did not watch 2025 war of the world because I heard really bad things about the movie and it's a 3% on rotten tomatoes the 2005 version with Tom Cruise was way better than this 2025 garbage because the 2005 version has a lot of horror elements and has a good cast where Tom Cruise is playing a father who is trying to protect his kids from the invasion and you see so many people on **** making games based off the 2005 war of the world movie that became a fan favorite because of it's horror it's acting it's plot and it's alien creatures that really like gives you the heebie-jeebies when you see them at the end of the movie

Ice Cube is gunning for that Razzie award with what might be this year's worst yet funniest performance, War of the Worlds (or as i now call it, Ice Cube's War of the Worlds) is definitely checkboxing all of the bad movie criteria list from terrible acting, sloppy directing, awful editing, laughable special effects, and a nonsensical story, i expected all of that going in, but i still had a shred of hope, hope that, no matter how awful, it would at least be entertainingly bad. The first 30 minutes crushed that hope, it was just painfully boring, not even fun-bad, just bad-bad, but then, somehow, the next hour turned things around, the movie fully embraced its chaotic, unintentional comedy, and i found myself laughing my ass off, watching Ice Cube's unbelievably bad performance turned into pure comedy gold. By the end of the movie, i have to give the movie another credit or point because somehow someway, i'll admit it, i kind of cared just a tiny bit about what's happening on the film, some of the supporting actors even showed a hint of effort, trying to deliver something decent despite the mess around them, and of course, Ice Cube was… well, unforgettable. Overall, witnessing and experiencing a future cult classic bad movie at the time of its release wasn't on my checklist this year, but honestly, movies like this don't come along often in that way, it was weirdly worth it, unless, of course, you had zero fun, but i did.
