At once a punchy celebration of Swift’s artistry and a piece of promotion that just exposes aspects of the album that may not wear so well over time.

It could be seen as a cynical capitalist move by the best businesswoman in the game. And it definitely is — at least partly.

While there’s something to be said for the communal experience of absorbing an album surrounded by dozens of likeminded fans, what’s actually being served up on screen is more filler than killer.

As a cinema experience, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl at least mirrors the album it celebrates – rote, tinnily light, with the lazy execution and first-draft quality of someone up against a deadline. Further evidence of what critic Spencer Kornhaber has termed Swift’s burnout era.

The four new tracks on "The Life of a Showgirl" aren't your typical pop songs; they demand that you listen closely to the lyrics and reflect on how those stories touch your own life. In "Patient Zero," for instance, Taylor Swift captures the raw pain of no longer feeling loved, reaching a point of detachment where the apathy takes over. It's an intimate set of songs that turns personal heartbreak into a shared emotional experience.

She had some amazing albums for the last couple of years so the expectations for this one were really high. The lyrics are mid, all internet slangs and quirky phrases.3 maybe 4 songs are probably worthwhile, the rest are not gonna age well. We need Jack and Aaron back in the studio with her

The album's aesthetics raised expectations that unfortunately weren't met. It was like listening to 1989's ugly sister. The Fate of Ophelia should sound like Cruel Summer, but it just feels like another pop effort Taylor has made since Midnights. Despite this, Wood sounds like the entire album should have sounded. Even though I was surprised by the obscene content in the lyrics, I was pleasantly surprised by the track. Anyway, it's just another mid album in Taylor's career, which, like many others, will be remembered more for its numbers than its quality.

Love the **** really sets the bar **** next two tracks are actually cool...4 isn't **** track 6 should have been 5 ...the rest of the album isn't good at all.

Disappointing as is the new album. She tries so hard to be cool, and, as a lifelong Swiftie, I’m tired of it.
